Purr was the first of her fragrances and released in 2010. Gigantic Perfumes worked with Katy Perry to help develop a scent that represented her music and personality. The name and bottle design were inspired by the musician’s love for cats. One of the most prominent scents of this fragrance is of citrus fruits. She described Purr fragrance as Katy Perry in a bottle because it represented her personality.
The next fragrance from Katy Perry was Meow!. It was released in 2011 and she, once again, worked with Gigantic Perfumes to develop this fragrance. Her love for cats was made evident again because of the name of the perfume as well as the shape of the bottle. The singer stated that the exclamation point on the fragrance's name was meant to represent her energy. It was a more upbeat fragrance than Purr and contains notes of honeysuckle, vanilla, musk and amber.
The latest from Katy Perry is called Killer Queen. May 2013 was the release date for the fragrance and is a diversion from the previous two fragrances. Both the name and the look of the fragrance are different to the playful and fun sounding Purr and Meow! fragrances. She teamed up with Coty to produce this fragrance which she described as being very sophisticated.
