Enhance your Hair this Valentine’s Day

Truth be told, planning for Valentine’s Day can be stressful, and we all know how bad stress is for overall health and beauty!  Stress can lead to breakouts, lack of sleep, and nutritional deficiencies. There is nothing worse than feeling and looking less than your best. Let’s not make that an option this Valentine’s Day with these awesome hair enhancement treatments and hair tips!

Hair gloss
Is dull hair your biggest hair complaint? Are you looking for a hair treatment to enhance your natural hair? Hair gloss is the answer! Hair gloss is a transparent hair dye that gives hair a healthy, attractive shine without affecting the color or damaging the hair. In fact, it does the exact opposite. Hair gloss gives longevity to colored hair and as the gloss covers the hair shaft, it also protects hair from damage.
There are a variety of specially formulated hair gloss products on the market that can either be applied at a salon or in the comfort of your own home. If you suffer from allergic reactions to hair gloss products, you can make use of natural products such as honey, eggs and milk to give your hair that luminous shine. Hair gloss can be applied to both dry and wet hair. The effect of hair gloss lasts up to two to four weeks. Now you can enhance hair shine, lustre, and sheen this Valentine’s Day without too much fuss!

Hair chalk
Looking for a hassle-free, inexpensive way to add color to your hair without the commitment? Add temporary color to your locks this Valentine’s Day with hair chalking – a new hair coloring technique that allows you to have whatever color you choose in your hair and then wash it out in just one wash. Hair chalking works on both light and dark hair. It’s so simple that you can do it yourself! Here’s how:

1.You will need chalk, a water bottle, protective gloves, a towel and a flat iron. When purchasing the chalk, choose inexpensive non-oil-based pastel, preferably soft chalk pastels.

2.Wet the hair first. The color will attach to the hair only if it’s wet. Unless you are blonde, wetting the hair is not needed.

3.Once your hair has been prepped, wear protective clothing in case any color transfers. You may also want to wear protective gloves when applying the color as it may stain your hands.

4.You then apply the chalk one strand at a time in a downward motion. Twist the hair as you chalk. Twisting the chalk makes the chalk release more pigment. Color both sides of the piece of hair so that it is fully covered with the color. To make the color more intense, dip one side of the piece of chalk into water. It’s important to always brush the excess powder out after chalking each piece. Try not to brush the hair too much once the color has been applied. You don’t want to brush the color out completely.

5.To seal the color in, blow dry the colored pieces of hair. A flat iron or a curling iron can also be used. Finish off your look by applying hair spray. Voilà! Hair coloring made easy!

6.Hair chalking generally only lasts one shampoo. It is important that you wash the chalk out properly as the powder pigment can suck up a lot of the natural moisture in your hair. A clarifying shampoo will remove the color a lot quicker than a normal shampoo. A conditioning treatment is also a must to replenish any lost moisture if you’re a regular hair chalk user.

Experiment with wild, bright colors this Valentine’s Day and get chalking!
