Essences All About Roses Eyeshadow

This is one of my most favorite eyeshadow brands as I love the creamy way it applies on the eyelids

The colours are great to look at and the shades are suitable for everyday. However, these shadows lack pigment and don't blend well at all due to the fact that they are 'chalky' - the eyeshadows tend to come across as quite patchy on the skin. I like the fact that some of the shadows have a sheen to them and find that these look better on the skin compared to the matte shades.

I LOVED THIS Eyeshadow Palette , when I first pursued make up and if I recall correctly my best friend even took it of my hands because of the color on the top right corner , and how it literally made you that girl at dinners .

I would recommend this eyeshadow because of the pigment and how it doesn't require a large amount when applying it

Secondly it is easy to blend , and it suitable for beginners to eyeshadow because of the colour rage offered , in the sense that the colour work for day and night events .

Essence is the perfect make up brand because of the affordable and they ability to brand themselves for all women in terms of financial understanding is refreshing because make up can be pricey .

The colours are very nice and the purple one certainly has a lot of pigment when looking at it. I found that the colours weren’t reflecting too well on my skin and the immense amount of glitter really effected the pigmentation of the shades. The 4 bright colours I found that make for a great highlighter instead of eyeshadow because of the shimmers and the brown Matt shade is perfect for a base coat for the eyeshadow if your skin is mocha. The purple shadow I mainly use for dramatic effect by placing it in my creases and other then that I haven’t used the palette much which is quite sad considering I was really excited about it when I first saw it.

Essence is a brand that is all about hits or misses. And this eyeshadow palette was unfortunately a miss for me. Don't get me wrong, the colours are stunning and with a but of persistence you can build up pigmentation but all the colours kinda look the same when applied so really this palette could have been a three hue palette, and those three colours would be a win. Fallout is minimal but the shadows do tend to 'bleed' into each other throughout the day resulting in a muddy mess, even with primer. But the colours are beautiful, even if a lot of them are more or less the same, I would still spend money on the palette. Essence is still a brand I buy from and will continue to buy from for their quality and affordability, understanding that all brands have misses.

I am a massive fan of Essence and their eyeshadow palettes are a big reason for that. The palette is great for building a blended rose eyeshadow and I find myself reaching for this set quite often, both for day and night looks. The lighter shades do require an extra stroke or two to show the colour, but that is expected for lighter shades. I like that some of the darker colours are shimmery which is great for the evening. The palette itself fits in my make-up bag so I can carry it with me which is really convenient. I also love that I'm not left with a fine powder on my eyelashes or on my cheeks after applying, the product is fuss-free. Overall, very happy with the product

Although this product is at an excellent price point, I find that the colours aren't very pigmented, and that they are only buildable up to a point before they start to look and feel very chalky on the eyes. They are good for affordable eyeshadows, but I wont be purchasing them again.

I am an absolute essence fan!! However i was a little disappointed with this pallet - the pigment isn't great & and you have to use a primer otherwise throughout the day your eyeshadow fades and transfers onto anything you might put against it.

This is an eyeshadow palette whose purple shades DON'T give me a bruised look. It's surprisingly pigmented for the price point, I find the packaging easy to travel with and the palette relatively versatile.

I've already bought two of these palettes. I finished the first one and can honestly say it's the first time I have ever finished eye shadow. The pay off is great and the colours work so well with brown eyes.

It is very pigmented, I love the shades and it is pretty compact for me to take on my adventures

Another beautiful palette from Essence.

I love their bigger palettes with the wider variety of colours... this one is beautiful, I obviously fell in love with all the gorgeous colours. Again, the pigment was not as bad as some bloggers have made it out to be. It blends very well and I can build the colour if I'd like a bit more.

My only problem is that I probably only use the first four shades most. I'm not very daring when it comes to colour on my eyes, and I wish I was because the two darker colours on the right are gorgeous! I might play around with it a bit more in winter, as these tones tend to remind me of rainy days.

I probably won't repurchase as I don't see myself finishing this palette anytime soon.
But I do need to add that I made the choice to purchase the palette because I do love Essence products, the colours were amazing and the quality great.

I have always bought eyeshadow duo's or quads as I could buy very specific shades for very specific finishes/looks. Then the palette revolution started and as far as I know, Essence brought out the 1st palettes in drugstores/Clicks/Dischem where you got more than 4 colours. I was so excited to try it though I only had 2 to choose from. The nudes or the roses palette. I chose the roses. This was years ago.

I used that palette every day of my life. Sometimes I added colours from other palettes or singles but this was always my every day go to base palette. The shadows are buttery and blend very easily. The colour pay off is good and you can create a few looks with this palette alone but adding in some other colours works just as great. They also last reasonably long. Long enough for your work day.

It is great for travelling as you have all your essentials with you - a matte base, matte and shimmery crease colours and lid colours.

I will not be repurchasing for one reason only, I have had it forever and I am bored with it. I want to try bolder colours for the next few months as I am experimenting.

I love the essence rose palette. It's got enough matte and shimmer colours to do al complete look. The shadows are nicely blendible, and lasts long (not quite as long as other more high end pallets). You can do from a nice and natural to a smokey eye. I have the same palette in Nudes and Bronze. Really great product and affordable.

I'm absolutely in love with this palette of Essence cause i'm a nude fan and pinkish/plum shades suits me like a charm.

The pallet consist of 8 beautiful colors ranging from an almost white to a dark plum/brownish color. There are matte and shimmer colors in the pallet, of which you can once again use the lighter shimmer colors as highlighters.

I got this palette a little while ago and was quite disappointed with the quality of it.

The colours, while pretty, were not very pigmented and did not show up very well on my skin (light-medium Indian skintone), after about an hour you couldn't even tell what the original colour was. The shadows themselves were very powdery leading to a decent amount of fallout which was not ideal. I like the lighter colours as highlighting shades though and still use those occasionally.

I think that these are great for someone looking for a budget friendly eye shadow palette - the array of shades are stunning but I find them to be abit powdery for my liking. THese are super affordable and will be great for day to day use.

I love Essence products for their affordability and quality but this palette is a huge miss for me.

The shadows are powdery so there's a ton of fallout. Because the pans are so close together, the fallout from one shadow falls into the pan of another shadow. The darker shades are pigmented but they're nothing special. There's not much of a difference between the lighter shades.

Honestly, this palette is suited for paler/lighter skinned people. I have a medium skin tone and these applied ashy, grey and muddy. They also did not last as long - maybe about 3 hours. If you're very fair, this might be an okay buy. I know the price is appealing , but I would rather spend a bit more money for a better quality palette.

I absolutely love this eyeshadow palette. I cannot use these eyeshadows with a brush as I have found that it is not quite effective, especially with the lighter shades. However, when applying it with your finger they are extremely pigmented and beautiful. They do disappear into my skin after a few hours. I would personally prefer more matte shades.

A very wearable palette of pastel;nude and deep browns making it an ideal summer or work look collection.
I felt that the colours were ideal for a cool toned skin but on me looked a little sci fi space agey and disappeared into my skin by the late afternoon.
A good collection but for me i think i need more rose gold and colours that enhance the warmth in my skin

This palette is named "All about Roses eyeshadow in 03 Roses " I believe there is four more palettes in this range. It comes in a clear plastic casing, which I just love because the shades are visible, which made it easier when I was purchasing my pallette.

Let me tell you about the shades, it consists of 8 shades, matte and shimmery.

From top left to right :

1. A moderately pigmented shimmery silver
2. Mauvy grey shimmery shade
3. silver brown shimmery shade
4. dark purple with brown base shimmery shade

Bottom left to right :

1. Matte nude
2. Flesh pink shimmery shade
3. Light mauve (matte)
4. Matte taupe brown

These are very pigmented shadows ,I love that there are more shimmery shades than matte ones. They are very smoothly textured and blends very well. You could use a primer but I don't because I find they last long and don't crease. There's a bit of fallout when using a brush so I use my fingers.

These are very impressive shadows from Essence, I love the take on the color mauve in this pallette, very warm and complimentimg to any skin tone.
