A few years back I had terrible acne due to a hormonal issue and so my doctor advised I use this face wash. It was the perfect face wash for my circumstance because it was so gentle on the skin and if any of you have had bad acne you know how painful it can get, so this face wash felt so soothing and just calmed my skin down.

Once I manged to get my acne under control my skin finally cleared up now I dont ever get spots. It wasnt solely because of this face wash because I was on medication but I do think it improved my skin a lot through out the process. I no longer use this face wash, not because I dont think its good, its just that now that I am able to try other products, I am experimenting with other products. I am currently using the Lipidol brand and loving it.

Let me start of by saying how amazing this product is and how much I love it !!!
I am a big fan of products that are versatile and can be used in different ways .

The Cetaphil gentle cleansing lotion is a cleanser a make up remover and can be used as a moisturizer ! Imagine that , 3 products in 1 bottle !

The product itself is very moisturizing when applied to the skin , it removes the dirt and impurities gently from your skin when used with water . Note ladies , it does not lather like a normal face wash it has a very gelish, silky texture .
After washing my face with this my skin is soft and smooth and feels really hydrated .

When used as a make up remover it removes make up gently and very effectively , especially from the eyes, so if you love heavy make up on your eyes this is great on a cotton pad to remove make up and it even removes mascara gently without the need to tug harshly at your eyelids . Afterwards your face and eyes are still left feeling moisturized and clean.

As a moisturizer all you need is one pump of the product and you can apply it as a normal moisturizer , if you feel like there is excess product on your skin you can blot it of easily and you are good to go .

The pump mechanism is a great idea as you are never using too much product and can dispense it as you need it .

It is suitable for all ages and skin types , so for you ladies with sensitive skin out there you can also give it a try because it is fragrance fee .

Another thing this product can be used in all seasons because it is so mild , its definitely a keeper for winter months .

With regards to price I paid around R125.00 at Clicks for a 250ml bottle , I know it sounds expensive but when you think of how many ways it can be used ,surely its justified right ?

I started using Cetaphil about three years ago when I had a major acne breakout and my doctor told me to use this product as I have sensitive skin. Since then I have never used another product. Cetaphil keeps my skin feeling hydrated and fresh and removes impurities without the use of harsh chemicals.

It treated my cystic acne within a month and helped me feel confident about my skin again.
I do feel that it does not work that well for blackheads, but any other impurities are not a problem for this product.

Every winter i always struggle with dry skin no matter what i used (within my price range obviously) nothing worked. every winter same problems.

This things took a turn for the better this year, i got free samples from Beauty Bulletin to try out the Citaphil products, face was, moisturize and the UVA defense lotion. Within the first two weeks of using the product (Cleanser and moisturizer) twice daily . Comments that i have been receiving are along the lines:

“Oh wow you sure are glowing”
“Your skin looks like it has its own energy, looks so radiant”
“Are you sure you are in winter with the rest of us? your skin looks like you’ve getting all the sunshine. that Glow”

I have NEVER received this much compliments about my face. I have never enjoyed winter this much especially having relocated to a new city… my family says Cape Town is good for me. I tell them Citaphil is awesome for me.

Thank you , Thank You!!!

Loving my Glow in winter.

Can’t wait for Spring!!

Got nothing but LOVE for you Citaphil

I was thrilled to receive the following three Cetaphil products via BB: Gentle Cleansing Lotion, Moisturising Cream and UVA/UVB Defense Sunscreen. These products came in a bag which perfectly fitted the products and which is perfect for travelling.

I wanted to wait as long as possible before posting my review in order to fully review the effect of the products and due to an untimely eye infection I have now noticed that I am late in posting my review! Eeeeeek I am so sorry BB!!

So without further delay, here are my thoughts:

Gentle Cleansing Lotion:

This cleansing lotion is suitable for all skin types and all ages and it specifically mentions that it would be suitable for sensitive skin.

There are two ways of using this product - with water or without water. Now with water I really struggled in using this product. Unfortunately it simply does not manage to remove my makeup and whilst it is very moisturising and does not leave your face feeling dry at all, I felt that I did not do a good job in the cleaning my face part. That being said, I think that this product would be wonderful to use for teens and/or people with extreme sensitive/dry skin as it really is very soothing. Using the product without water (applying it to your face directly and then wiping off the excess with a cotton pad) did however work out for me. I used it almost like a moisturising toner after washing my face which is nice for winter (and without the water it did in fact remove any excess makeup left after washing my face!).

Moisturising Cream

This moisturising cream is fragrance free, non-comedogenic (i.e it does not block pores) and lanolin (a substance/oil derived from sheep's wool)free. I enjoyed using this product as it's very light and not greasy. I started using the product whilst I had a bad skin breakout and my skin has since cleared up with no further problems.

UVA/UVB Defense Sunscreen

This sunscreen is fragrance free, also non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic. As I have a very fair skin I am always keen for any SPF 50 and this sunscreen has 7 UV filters and 1 physical blocker to protect against the sun. My skin is dry so for me this product absorbed fairly quickly and it's not too greasy. I could not fully review the effects in a sunny hot day (it's winter in Cape Town with endless rain currently...), so I am looking forward to using it more in summer!.

Now girls, here comes the really honest part (please forgive me dear BB fairies!): I was a bit surprised to find that these products are so pricey. Now if the products resulted in any noticeable improvement or change in my skin condition or appearance I would have obviously not minded the price as it's not THAT expensive. But honestly, from the packaging I assumed these products would price in the cheaper line of products (this sounds really harsh, but meaning that the packaging is just very clean and simple and does not scream "I am worth more!").

Maybe if the products contained any additional beneficial skin care ingredients it could have been justified? Sadly, it does not appear to (although I am no expert and maybe someone can clarify it for me?!)and therefore I remain puzzled by the price.

This is however only my opinion and review - as stated above these products may work wonderfully for teens or people with extremely sensitive/dry skin (please note I do have dry skin which tends towards sensitivity and rosacea).

I suffer from an oily T-zone and dry areas on my face. This cleanser was perfect for me and my teen daughter.

The dispenser if perfect, allowing a sufficient amount of cleanser to be dispensed through the pump. The texture is creamy and as you massage it into wet skin, it foams gently. It did not irritate my skin, or even my husband's sensitive skin! I found that I broke out much less and my skin seemed smoother over the first week. The scent is lovely and subtle. After cleansing, my skin did not feel tight or dry. This is a perfect cleanser for oily or combination skin for men, women and teens!

1st off, I was so so SO thrilled when I received the message stating that I was chosen for the Cetaphil review club.

As we just entered winter, my skin had been so dry and dehydrated and I had dry patches around my nose. I also had a few breakouts. And overall I was not happy with the condition of my skin.

Using facial wash containing salicylic acid to get rid of my pimples was my skins worst nightmare! But it's the only thing that helped clear it up.

I was sent the Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion, DailyAdvance Lotion and UVA/UVB Defense Sunscreen. All suited for my skin type, and that is dry and acne-prone. All products are suitable for even the most sensitive skins.

Cetaphil cleansers will effectively cleanse your skin without irritating and over drying.

And Cetaphil moisturisers will hydrate and protect skin without clogging your pores.

So let's jump into my thoughts and feelings on the Cetaphil range.

Honestly,  I was completely blown away when I opened my package. I couldn't stop smiling and I was so excited I could just scream!

1st of all it was bigger and heavier than I'd expected. It came in a lovely travel cosmetic bag. And the products were HuUUGe!

I was also expecting 2 products instead of 3. Boy was I was pleasantly surprised!

Goes without saying that I was super excited and could not wait to try them out.

So I used these products for about a month before writing my review,  that way I feel I've given them a fair chance. See if they agree with my skin and continue to do as they claim. So here is my honest opinions.

Let's start with the cleanser.

Available in 3 sizes, I have the largest 1 which also comes with a pump. Super easy to use especially when you're in the shower, you won't have bottles slipping from your hands.

It's almost like a gel cream consistency and doesn't foam up. Has a light, almost medicated scent, but is definitely not bothersome.

1 pump gives you a sufficient amount for your entire face.

I love everything about this cleanser. It is so versatile. You can use it as a makeup remover before cleansing, or just as a dry cleanser.

And even though it is so gentle, it does an amzing job at cleansing. I for 1, don't remove my makeup before cleansing and this gets everything off, even waterproof mascara! And if it gets into my eyes, it doesn't irritate it like most eye makeup removers do.

After rinsing off, my skin feels clean and soft. No more tightness, like with other cleansers, even those that claim to hydrate your skin.

The secret with Cetaphil is that the cleanser leaves a thin layer over your skin and locks in moisture. Awesome!

After drying my face I move onto the moisturiser. This is heaven in a (huge) tube. Its so big its actually funny. What's even more funnier is that I carry this big thing in my handbag! My sister laughed at me when she saw me pulling it out 1 day.

Moving on.... This is by far thee best moisturiser I have ever used.

My skin literally feels buttery soft after applying and doesn't wear off. If I apply it at night, when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels the same way it did when I went to sleep.

Comes in a large tube of 226g and a flip top cap.

It's a lightweight lotion that gets absorbed quite quickly and isn't greasy.

This came as a godsend. My skin was so dehydrated my makeup looked patchy and just nasty after a few hours. Within just a few days of using Cetaphil, those dry patches were gone, moisture was restored and my skin was glowing! And I don't mean shining as if I slathered on some vaseline haha.

I also use the DailyAdvance Lotion on my hands during the day and on my feet before bed and even Hubsy has commented on the difference Lol *blush*

Another thing, I noticed my 10 month old baby girls cheeks often gets pink and dry during the colder days and so I use this on her face as well. I do definitely notice the difference and now I no longer need to reapply lotion to her face during the day.

And this really proves how gentle this cream really is.

And lastly, the UVA/UVB defense sunscreen. It has a whopping SPF 50 so it provides adequate protection for your skin. There are some things I dont like about it..

1. is that it is quite thick, and therefore takes a long time to blend in and get absorbed by my skin.

2. It also tends to leave behind a grey cast if not blended in properly.

3. And lastly, I don't reall mind this but I highly doubt oily skinned people would be too happy about, is that it does leave behind a bit of shine.

What really stands out to me and is absolutely true is Cetaphil's motto:

"Recommended by Dermatologists But see for Yourself"

The results speak for themselves.

Once you use Cetaphil, you will never turn back! Well atleast I'm not.

Some people might be concerned that it's a pricey range, but let me tell you, it is sooo worth it because these will last me for quite some time. As I mentioned, they are Huuuge!

My ratings:

Gentle Cleansing Lotion (10 / 10)

DailyAdvance Lotion ( 10 / 10 )

UVA/ UVB Defense Sunscreen ( 7 / 10)

Thank you Beauty Bulletin for giving me the opportunity to experience this wonderful set of skincare products. I will be raving about it forever!

I have recently been using the Cetaphil range, and want to review just the UVA/UVB Defence I received.

With an SPF of 50+, this is perfect for me as I am very pale and tend to get burnt easily. Also, since I live in Durban, we don't really have a winter and lately have been having scorching hot days. So naturally, this was ideal!

I went to the beach this past weekend and tried out the Cetaphil UVA/UVB defense. I love how it was not too sticky or runny like most sun protection creams. It was perfect, and I felt like my face was protected! Especially with my psoriasis.

It's hard to find good SPF 50 creams for sun protection, so this product is amazing. I can't wait to use it more and more now each time I go out in the sun!

The Cetaphil Gentle cleanser I received is for eczema sufferers, and I have been using it for about 3 weeks now. The cleanser liquid itself is not like any other face wash I have ever used. It is a runny, white-silver-like liquid. It does not lather at all but it does do it's job of cleansing. After using it, my face felt very comfortable and moisturised. I felt like there was no need for a moisturiser.

I especially like to use it to remove my make-up as it works wonders in taking everything off, without that harsh dried-out feeling.

I love this product. I think this is one that will become a permanent feature in my life. It made my winter skin so much better. I usually suffer from dry scaly skin during winter and this (coupled with the moisturiser) made that a thing of the past winter.

My skin is extremely sensitive and I usually go up in flames when using skincare products, for years I've stuck to advice received from my granny: "Rinse your face with cold water every morning, you won't have wrinkles until you're in your 80's" It worked for her, amazingly but we don't have quite the same genes, unfortunately. I've spend thousands of rands on skincare products that are for "sensitive skin" only to end up with blotches and marks. I literally gave up and stuck to the cold water regime until I received a gorgeous hamper from Beauty Bulletin. Pardon me for being sceptical but I've waited a few days before trying it. I felt a difference from the first day, my skin felt less tight, no blotches or red flames nor burning.I got so many compliments and was even asked whether I'm pregnant or not due to the fact that I was positively glowing (or rather my skin was). The gentle cleansing lotion is just that, gentle (happy sigh) it leaves my skin so soft and I love the fact that it's not fragrant and doesn't dry out my skin. I use it to remove my make-up at night and I absolutely love the effect it has on my skin. It's for all skin types so my boyfriend also started using it.The moisturising cream is perfect for my sensitive skin as it hydrates it and doesn't leave me oily or shiny, it doesn't clog pores and are ideal for using all areas of my body that requires extra attention like my elbows and hands. I'm not a fan of sunscreens (though I ought to be) because its usually very heavy and oily but I love the UVA/UVB Defense SPF 50+, it provides a high level of protection for my sensitive skin as even winter sun is dangerous. It protects against sun damage as well as ageing whilst being hypoallergenic (favorite word!)and fragrance free. I've recommended Cetaphil to all of my friends as some of them are suffering from Eczema and there's a range especially for that!I'm going to invest in the body wash and moisturizer as I know I won't be disappointed. Cetaphil, you've found yourself a life-long client, thank you to Beauty Bulletin for introducing me to Cetaphil, you rock!

Hi ladies and some gents,

Firstly thank you to Beauty Bulletin for allowing me to try out the Cetaphil range. It is my first time using this product. It does say it is for problematic skin and I have psoriasis but its only affects my scalp.

The Range that I have received :Dry/Sensitive Skin
• Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion
• Cetaphil Daily Advanced Ultra hydrating lotion
• Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defence SPF50+

Pricing :
Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion 400ml-R175
Cetaphil Daily Adv Lotion 226g-R220
Cetaphil UVA/UVB Spf50 50ml -R170
Available at Dischem and Clicks

My Experience:
My first thoughts was that I love the bag that the range was placed into; it was very practical as I will be traveling soon and it's perfect to pack all my stuff and go.
Over the couple of weeks I used the products, I did not notice too much of a difference as I say my skin on my body is not problematic however my scalp is. I did use the lotion and I must say that it does what it says, it is very Hydrating and its absorbed quickly and lasts all day with being greasy, LOVE IT!

So now you know the best kept secret to combat any skin type problems.
• Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion
When I used the Gentle Cleansing Lotion in the shower every day I found that it was very hydrating and cleansing. I also love that I can use it without water, so I used it to remove my makeup and it's amazing. This is something I live by a product that removes my makeup and does not leave my skin feeling dry and tight.

• Cetaphil Daily Advanced Ultra hydrating lotion
Wonderful product that is hydrating, non greasy, extremely moisturising and is absorbed quickly leaving my skin with all day protection against dryness. .

• Cetaphil UV SPF50
I found that this product made my breakout, so I discontinued the use of this product.

Overall I like the product and I would recommend this product to family and friends to try out, especially my brother he has bad psoriasis on his hands and feet. I have given him some to try and already the is a difference in the dry flaky skin.
Thanks guys!

Thank you Beauty Bulletin for the trial of the Cetaphil range . I will be quite honest I had not tried the range prior to receiving the samples from BB. My mother in-law had mentioned the range to me in a few conversations..As they say mother knows best so does my mother-in-law ?

The Range that I have received :Dry/Sensitive Skin
• Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion
• Cetaphil Daily Advanced Ultra hydrating lotion
• Cetaphil UV SPF50

Pricing :
Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion 400ml-R175
Cetaphil Daily Adv Lotion 226g-R220
Cetaphil Uv Spf50 50ml -R170
Available at Dischem and Clicks

My Experience:
I absolutely the gift bag that the range was placed into; it was very stylish and posh. I was quiet smitten by the travel bag.
Over the three week use of the products, I noticed there was a remarkable difference in my skin. The dryness and sensitivity of skin was illuminated.
The Range is perfectly suited to the skin type.
I was left very confident without noticeable flaky and dry skin.
This is one range that I would be trying again and recommending to my friends and families.
So now you know the best kept secret to combat any skin type problems.
• Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Lotion
Using a 5 rand size of the cleansing lotion is adequate as the formula is foaming and cleanses my entire face and neck .. The saying a little goes a long way is this product’s motto for me.

• Cetaphil Daily Advanced Ultra hydrating lotion
The hydrating lotion is non greasy, moisturising and hydrates dry and sensitive skin well.

• Cetaphil UV SPF50
Can be used over your moisturiser or under your make up for the one that use make up. It does not leave any residual behind and just like the hydrating lotion it is also non greasy. It is light and very easy to wear. It makes daily use comfortable.

I'd like to think that I have my skin under control, but some days, it seems like my skin is all over the place. As a teenager, I used to really struggle with my skin, to the point where I had to get antibiotics from my doctor to keep my skin under control. With age, my skin got better, but it is by no means in perfect condition. In fact, I bear many scars from my younger days and picking my skin. I often get one or two pimples around that time of the month these days. These horrifyingly, large pimples are often extremely painful and using face wash seemed to irritate it more.

After hearing a lot of good things about Cetaphil from international beauty bloggers and vloggers, I was keen to try the Cetaphil Range. I received the Gentle Cleansing Lotion, UVA/UVB Defence SPF 50+ and the Intensive Moisturising Cream.

The first thing I have noticed about the Gentle Cleansing Lotion is that there was no smell whatsoever. The white-ish formula felt gentle on my skin and it didn't burn or irritate my skin at all. I loved that my skin didn't feel dry or like cracking after I have rinsed it and my skin still felt squeaky clean. After day 3, I noticed visible changes in my skin. My skin started to clear up and I do not know if it was just my imagination, or not, but my blemishes were less. I also noticed that I didn't get one pimple during that time of the month. BONUS!! The bottle itself is also really big and a little goes a long way, therefore the price you pay is totally reasonable, think about R40 per month on quality face wash. What a bargain.

After washing my face, I followed up with the UVA/UVB Defence SPF50+ during teh day time. Unlike any other sunscreen I have tried, my face didn't feel oily or shiny at all, and teh product doesn't have that "distinct" sunscreen smell. The product absorbed quickly and left my skin looking and feeling matte. I followed up with my normal daily makeup routine and my makeup lasted the entire day. The sunscreen didn't make my makeup slide all over my face.

At night, I used the Intensive Moisturising Lotion and my skin felt noticeably smoother and softer. With the harsh winters we have here in JHB, I love to cover my face in moisturiser before bed and wake up with soft skin.

I really love the Cetaphil products and I do feel that my skin is in a better state because of it. I love that my skin is visibly clearer and softer. No more bad skin days. As soon as my products are finished, I will run to the nearest Dis-chem and stock up on these skin savers.

I was one of the very lucky ones chosen to review Cetaphil products, thank you!

When my package came I was pleasantly surprised by not only the products, but also the way they came packed in an awesome utility bag that will be great for traveling!

Once I opened the bottle I was surprised that when they said "Fragrance Free", it really was fragrance free.

I decided to try this cleansing lotion by all the methods recommended on the bottle, and here is what I found:

Cleansing with water:
I applied the lotion, which does not foam, and washed it off with water. It left my skin feeling clean, but not quite as moisturised. I did end up using a moisturiser afterwards.

Cleaning without water:
This was my favourite method; I applied the product onto my face and proceeded to use a cotton swab just to rub the excess lotion off my skin. It left my skin feeling clean as well as really moisturised and soft.

As an eye makeup remover:
The lotion also works brilliantly as a makeup remover. I put some around my eyes and rubbed lightly, then used a cotton swab to remove the excess lotion and the makeup. Usually other products make my eyes burn a little or tend to leave my eye area a little sensitive, but with Cetaphil's Cleansing Lotion there was none of that. My eyeliner and mascara came off effortlessly.

Although this product is a little pricey, I do think it will last very long and is definitely worth the price.

I received the Cetaphil® Gentle Cleansing Lotion and Moisturiser pack the other day in the post. I was so excited to open up the beautiful bag to see all the products inside! (See attached photo of what it looked like... it even had a shower hook!)

I have psoriasis, and tend to itch a lot. I get it on my eyebrows, under my arms and behind my neck. So you can imagine how excited I was to receive something that would be of use...

I started using the cleansing lotion on my face and have put some under my arms, and already within one day I saw results. I'm no longer reaching over to scratch, and my skin feels already so moistened and soft. I'll be posting my experience with the moisturiser and the SPF 50 sun lotion I also received in separate reviews.

Thank you SO much Beauty Bulletin & Cetaphil® for giving me a chance to try out such a WONDERFUL product!

I have never tried any Cetaphil products as I always thought that they were for acne sufferers only (granted, during high school I had shocking acne but the pill has managed to sort that out and my skin is great now!). I actually wasn't aware that Cetaphil came in a range of products for different skin concerns.

I have crazy sensitive skin - I've once had to be taken to the doctor after using a new product once and coming out not only in a terrible rash that was sore and dry and itchy, but my face swelling so badly that my eyes were mere slits. I cannot ever try just any old product and I try my best to stick with all natural cleansers/toners/moisturisers. I have been using Lush for a while now and am so so happy with all of their products.

My usual skincare routine involves a makeup remover - I use TBS Silky Camomile Cleansing Oil, and then my Lush cleanser, toner and moisturiser.

After a week of using the Cetaphil in place of both the cleansing oil and my regular cleanser I am quite happy. I do have to do two washes with it - 1 pump each time - as once doesn't quite remove all of my makeup (unless I use my Cleansing Oil first and then the Cetaphil). My skin is lovely and calm and I don't seem to have as many dry patches. I can't just wipe if off with cotton pads (which would probably be better) as when I have that layer of film left on my skin I do tend to have a breakout of spots.

I would perhaps keep this cleanser for use when my skin is very irritated or dehydrated, as I think it could be a little too oily for my to use in summer. It might be really good just for winter, and for when I've spent a lot of time in the sun to replenish some of the moisture my skin has lost.

It's possible that I would have been much more inclined to make this part of my regular routine if I hadn't fallen so deeply in love with TBS Cleansing Oil and my Lush products. I'm just so happy with how flawless and calm and soft my skin is using the routine I've been sticking with for the last 3 months, and while the Cetaphil is indeed a very good product, I find that perhaps the other products just give it a little something more. I will most definitely continue using the Cetaphil though, and have recommended it to my sister who battles with very dry and sensitive skin.

I use this face wash on a daily basis, it works really well most of the time. Only negative has got to be the price though, especially if you get the bigger bottle. Although it seems to last at least two months so cant really complain!

Quality comes at a price! In this case you are getting both a pharmaceutical and dermaceutical on the shelves without the doctors consult! Thank you to the ladies at beauty bulletin for sending this to me! I had used this in this past and forgotten just how effective this product really is! Recently my skins behaving badly! Usually its combination ! Over the past few month its dry sensitive and very reactive! As a result of this i have bought a fair amount of creams and what happens is my cupboards are full , my skins still tight and uncomfortable ,products are unfinished and i am buying even more stuff!
The packaging is very clinical white pump bottle with blue green and white as the predominant colours! It pumps out a good amount of a pearelescent lotion type clinical smelling lotion that spreads easily and can be used with or without water after you have removed your make up with a wipe or cotton pad! Applied to skin and massage in : this does not lather in the case of wet skin and can rinsed off! If applied to dry skin simply tissue off the excess! A thin film is felt on the skin which is comforting! Skin is clean and comfortable! An extremely good buy!

I have been looking for a cream that will help to reduce my break-outs and blemish prone skin and decided to try Cetaphil products (advice from a magazine article by a famous model).

I decided to give it a try as I thought Galderma is an excellent skin are brand but to my dismay this Moisturising cream has caused my skin to break-out.

So unfortunately this product does not receive a good review from me.
