I tried this the other day for the first time, I have to admit, I don't like spending that much on a top coat - but after trying it i realised just how much better it was than the other cheaper ones i've tried. My nails felt like I had gellish on them. Also made them feel stronger.

I bought the Yardley Gel-Lac Nail Polish in Overcoat after a nail-biting spree. My nails are so thin at the moment, the 'volumising' claims immediately appealed to me.
This really is a great topcoat. It made my cheap nail colour look like a proper manicure. It leaves a beautifully smooth finish which my cheaper topcoats often don't. I also painted my nails right before bed and didn't wake up to any duvet marks or smudges! Very quick-drying and really improved the look of my bitten nails.

So finally went out and bought a Yardley Gel-Lac Nail Polish from my local Dischem to test and see what the hype was about.
I was sceptical about actually achieving the look and benefit of a gel nail at home, for less money than I pay at my nail bar salon and with no use of UV lamps, this had to be proven to believed. Call me a doubting Thomasina but I was not sold to the idea, so I went and spent my R69, 99 for a Yardley Gel-Lac Nail Polish in Overcoat. A clear and safe colour that will work with my existing Yardley nail polishes was my thinking, and if it didn’t deliver on its promises I will still have a “regular” top coat nail polish.
My observations:
• The bottle was filled to the neck of the bottle which is important for me as I believe I need to get every drop of what I pay for.
• The nail polish was thick but easy flowing.
• The brush was flat, thick, broad and slightly curved making for easy application.
• Added volume, glossy plumpness to my Yardley Quick Dry Moulin Rouge colour.
• It dried slower than my Quick Dry nail polish but faster than my regular nail polishes.
• The nail polish that ended up on my skin and cuticle was easy to peel off after I soaked and moisturised my hands.
• My Moulin Rouge nail colour was protected and chip free for a week on my hands and 2 weeks on toes.
• Yardley Gel-Lac Nail Polish in Overcoat upgraded my done at home manicure and gave it the look of a professional done manicure
• The final look was worth every cent I paid.
• Proving to my girls that my nails were all mine and that my manicure was a home job was utterly priceless.
The fact that I paid less and got more or less what I will get from a nail bar is obviously impressive. Knowing that I will get multiple applications from a R69, 99 bottle of nail polish is a dream. Knowing that I can convert all my regular nail polishes into a glossy plump pro looking manicure with my Yardley Gel-Lac Nail Polish in Overcoat, is simply genius.
