Definitely a must-have, if you wish to make self-tan part of your weekly beauty regime! I have never seen one of these - not that I have ever looked - but seriously, on TV shows that regularly use self-tan, I have seen them spray it and make use of the mitten but never this. It is so ingenious! It unfolds and has sponges on the end so that you can smear the tanner all over your back and reach all over! The applicator clips and folds in the middle so that it can fit in the convenient travel bag, and comes with 5 replacement sponges. If you take special care of your tanning essentials, it is said that the back applicator goody can last up to 2 years. That is truly value for money!

I have seen in some kits that you get a cloth, but I think that this mitten would definitely work better, in comparison. It is a silky mitten that conveniently slips over your hand, making your tanning experience effortless while creating a while blended and even tan.

If you're a first timer, you probably don't know that knuckles, ankles, fingers, toes and wrists are the worst places to self-tan. I learnt this the hard way! No really, for some reason, the tanner tends to gather in these areas, making you looker darker (and well - dirty). Luckily, in my awesome kit, there was this beaut. Yep, they truly have thought of EVERYTHING! Much like a deodorant stick or roll-on, this coconut scented balm has ingredients which include Jojoba and Safflower oil making it oh-so moisturising while allowing you to blend out those darker areas, leaving your tan looking even and natural! At first, I didn't notice much difference when using the blending balm, but after applying it and working it over the darker lines - I noticed it lightening and slowly it stopped looking like the foreign object, added on later after a repair, but started to match the rest of me. You can also use the balm if you don't want to tan a certain section, by applying it before application. (Note: next time I dye my hair, I actually want to try using this around my hair line, to see if it'd work as a barrier for dye too!)

The liquid gold! Literally. I was extremely nervous about applying this, as mentioned - I didn't want to look like a Dorito. When you apply it, you get taken to the Caribbean with the scent of coconut and a hint of pineapple. The formula is a shimmery gold and after application, your skin has the tiniest particles of shimmer, perfect for summer days on the beach! (The particles are not glitter that sticks to your clothes and gets everywhere!) Although the instructions suggest to apply it whilst wearing dark clothes, it was laundry day in my household and I was forced to wear light-coloured clothes. Much to my surprise, there was no stains and my clothes made it out safely! I was worried that application may take long, but if you use the mitten by Xen-Tan, application takes less than 10 minutes. Unlike other self-tans, this one doesn't apply on dark, and it gradually darkens. I'd say that after about 6-8 hours, you can see the final result. Also, the formula isn't sticky on your skin, you can easily go out after application without feeling uncomfortable. If you want a richer, darker tan (suitable for summer) - you could apply it twice a week, but if you just want that healthy looking tan, apply the gel once a week after exfoliating with the body scrub.

This is heaven in a tube - no jokes! I am CRAZY about minty scents, and this is better than rubbing the fresh, minty essence of Aquafresh, all over your body! When you read about self-tan, everyone says, "EXFOLIATE!" Reason being, you need to remove the dead skin cells before applying self tan, or else you will be at risk of an uneven, flaky tan - sis! I was truly expecting coarse salt, but was happily surprised when I found that it is gentle beads that lightly massage and remove the dead skin, making way for healthy, glowing cells - the perfect canvas for your tan. The scrub contains aloe vera, which helps repair and soothe skin ensuring the smoothest skin to work with.
