Alberto Vo5 is a product of an American corporation which was founded in 1955 by Leonard Lavin. After focusing on hundreds of various products, the company dropped most of them and began focusing on Alberto Vo5 and hairdressing.

In 1958, Alberto Vo5 was the number one selling product of its kind and maintains its reputation till today. Leonard Lavin and his wife maintained the company and its reputation up until the year of 1994. They then handed the company over to the second family generation. Lavin’s daughter, Carol Lavin Bernick is the company’s executive chairman.

In 2006 there was a vote as to whether or not they should sell their salon distribution to Sally Beauty Supply, however the votes were against such an agreement and as such the deal fell through.

The range of Vo5 hair care products includes shampoo and conditioner that has been formulated to address various hair care needs such as dandruff and dry hair and sculp. Their latest range is the Vo5 Elixir range that has been infused with 5 vital oils to ensure hair health.

There is also a hair styling range that includes products that protect your hair during heat treatments such as blowdrying and flat ironing. There is also a molding and mousse range from Vo5.

Alberto Culver supports groups that include education, women in the working world and organizations in health care which support research facilities.
