A low fat moisturiser that disappears into the skin This is a moisturiser for those who want a cream that doesn’t sit on the skin for ages. This cream vanishes completely, leaving nothing behind except beautifully soft skin.

I have been a Lushie from the first time I tried their product. My sister gave me her vanishing moisturiser to use as it didn’t agree with her skin and I must add it was an interesting few months testing out this product.
About the brand:
Lush is an international powerhouse and home to fresh handmade body and hair care products. Lush is known for creating natural products which incorporates ingredients that are good not only for your body, but for your mind and soul as well. They do not test on animals and only affiliate themselves with companies that share the same values and actions.
"We invent our own products and fragrances, we make them fresh by hand using little or no preservatives or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients and tell you when they were made."
The Product:
According to the Lush website, the Vanishing Cream is a “low fat moisturiser for problem skin. If you have acne, oily skin, spots on your T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) you could use a pot of our new Vanishing Cream.”
When I purchase a moisturiser the words “problem skin” and “acne” are key words that I look out for. I ignored the fact that it is for oily skin since I have extremely dry skin.
The vanishing cream is contained in a standard screw on recycled and recyclable black pot. This might not the most effect storage method as the cream is very light and runny and therefore is not travel-friendly. What I do love about this product is the subtle hint of lavender that lingers in the air once you unscrew the lid.
The Ingredients:
Lush has incorporate a number of powerhouse ingredients. These ingredients consist of witch hazel, shea butter, grape seed, camellia, and my all-time favourite ingredient, jojoba oil.
If you enjoy researching the benefits of ingredients then you would be aware that shea butter is known for combatting acne scars.
The inclusion of witch hazel is the key ingredient that helps creating a matt finish and locks the oil away. Witch hazel is basically the best friend that all people with oil skin need.
The Application:
The formula of the moisturiser is extremely light and airy. The reason for this is because it has a low-fat base which ensures that the smooth texture glides onto your skin and locks in any excess oil present on your face. As good as it sounds, I didn’t find that this was the best result with my skin type. I must pause to mention that the moisturiser applied effortlessly onto my skin but unfortunately it was immediately sucked up, I guess it really is a vanishing cream.
The Price:
The vanishing cream is currently retailing for R375.00 for the 45g tub.
The Verdict:
I generally find that Lush products are quite versatile regardless of what skin type the product is labelled for. Unfortunately, I found that this product is not as easily adaptable for those with dry skin. As much as I love the scent and the blend of ingredients, I prefer a moisturiser that creates a protective layer and hydrates my skin and more importantly a moisturiser that has some spf incorporated into it. These two factors is the reason why I won’t be repurchasing this product again.

R265 for 45g
Ok, I won't lie. When I heard the price of this I gulped and my eyes widened. I haven't ever spent that much on a moisturiser before but after the sales assistant took me through all that this cream does and applied some to my skin I was sold on it. My skin soaked it up and immediately looked perfectly moisturised and hydrated. When reading all the ingredients it was the first moisturirser that I have ever seen where the first ingredient is not Aqua (See full list of ingredients on the Lush website). I opted for this moisturiser because I like cream to absorb quickly and not be noticeable on my skin during the day. It disappears into the skin in under a minute and leaves my skin feeling wonderfully moisturised throughout the day and over a period of a week my skin's overall condition has improved tremendously. I have been applying this twice a day and been very impressed with it. A little of the product goes a long way and this little tub will last me at least 2-3 months so the cost of it is not bad at all.
