Up until recently I had only ever used the Moroccanoil Treatment Oil, but due to its hefty price tag I have been looking for an alternative, budget-friendly option. Enter the new TRESemmé Oil Elixir… Before I start singing its praises, I should probably point out that I’m not a loyal TRESemmé fan, however this hair oil is the exception! Everything about this hair oil is perfect. The packaging is simple yet beautiful and the fact that the bottle is glass certainly makes it appear more expensive than it really is. Unlike the hair oil that I am used to, this formula is lightweight and absorbs into my hair instantly, leaving it feeling soft and smelling amazing! I have been using the oil for the last two weeks and I can definitely notice a difference in the smoothness of the hair. The TRESemmé Oil Elixir for All Hair Types comes in a sleek and elegant black and gold box. The packaging really gives the product a luxurious look and feel. The oil is encased in a glass bottle with a black dispensing pump. You can lock and unlock the pump by turning the nozzle. The pump is excellent for product control. The Oil Elixir for All Hair Types is rich but it has a thin texture. It quickly absorbs into the hair without leaving a greasy feel. The Oil Elixir has a lovely scent which is not overpowering or annoying to me. When used on wet hair, the product makes the hair soft, manageable and shiny without a greasy look and feel. For the days I want to blow dry my hair, the Oil Elixir leaves my hair looking and feeling smooth, shiny and it tames frizz. It is excellent for my natural hair and weaves. A little goes a long way when it comes to this product. I bought my bottle of the TRESemmé Oil Elixir for All Hair Types from Clicks for a promotional price of R89.99. I am definitely going to repurchase it.

But after battling with dry, damaged, static hair all winter I got this oil and I love it!
The glass bottle that it comes in gives it that "fancy" feeling ;)
When first applying the oil (and you only need one small pump as it goes a long way) it is smooth and sleek but quite visible in the hair, but after a few minutes and a couple of brush strokes it is absorbed and no longer looks oily. It leaves hair feeling silky soft with no dryness, reduces the appearance of split ends and is great for taming frizz! And it smells divine too!
A tip: use a drop of the product on the ends of your hair, any more and hair will appear to greasy and weighed down.
The oil is rich but not the overwhelming kind and I applied it after I had washed my hair. Left on for about 1 hour and washed out. Its surprising how soft, smooth and tangle free my hair felt afterwards which was very impressive. Plus, as an added bonus, the smell was incredible.
The style and shape of the bottle is very elegant which compliments the product in many ways. I think it also says something about the quality of the purchase you are making.
I have been using tresemme for many years now and have never beeen disappointed and this product is definetly going on my Winter Wish List for 2014.
