Skin Illusion claims to look just like your real skin, only better, and more than lived up to its claim !
I'm a foundation sceptic, and can't bear the feeling of having my face covered, whether in sunscreen or makeup. I can just about stand powder foundations on occasion, but have never liked fluid products. I'm particularly unkeen on foundation and sunscreen combinations, as the sunscreen often makes my sensitive, reactive skin break out or itch, so this was a surprise !
I was really impressed with the texture, loved the natural cucumber smell, and was surprised by the coverage provided by just a small amount of product. Coverage is medium, but looked completely natural, and covered up little blemishes without looking caked-on. As I'm oily, I followed with a little translucent powder, and was delighted to see that the product stayed fresh-looking all day. More importantnly, no itching or claustrophobia at all !
Now, if the good folk at Clarins would just package it in a plastic container rather than glass, it would be portable too ! I know that glass is better for product life and stability, but the pretty glass bottle isn't bag-friendly...
Not the cheapest foundation on the market, but extremely economical. I used a foundation brush for an even, sheer effect, and used very little to get a flawless finish. This will definitely find a home in my rather crowded makeup bag !
