Vaseline
Vaseline was invented by Robert Chesebrough in 1872. He discovered the formula while in Pennsylvania in the oil fields. He discovered a residue, rod wax, that had to be removed from the oil rig pumps.
Taking a sample of the rod wax, Chesebrough returned to the US to begin maunufacturing a medicinal product now known as Vaseline.
In 1987, Vaseline was purchased by Unilever.
Now Vaseline owns a line of skin care products, creams and lip balms. Vaseline caters for both men and women. These products are petroleum jelly based and therefore great for dehydrated skin. They help to protect it from the harshness of environment we live in today.
Vaseline products can be found in almost any major retail store in South Africa.
