I love my scrubs, and the fragrance of a product always plays a big role for me in my liking it or not.

So Body Shop products always get bonus points because of their natural fragrances in their products ;)

And this SPA FIT Smoothing & Refining Body Scrub does not disappoint! It has a lovely fresh and zesty, yet sweet citrus scent, which lingers on your skin even after you have washed it off.

The scrub's abrasive component includes apricot seed powder, orange peel powder and lemon peel powder, which gives a gentle yet thorough exfoliation. You can actually see the citrus (orange, lemon & grapefruit) pulp in the product, and I had to stop myself from adding some water to it in a glass and making it into a pulp-filled citrus cocktail... lol

Another ingredient which adds to the 'fresh feeling', is the menthol, which leaves your skin feeling cool and tingling. Perfect for using on a hot summer's day. And the caffeine ads firming and tightening properties to the product.

Another interesting fact about the honey used in this product, for those of you who also support 'animal friendly' and 'green' products: They source their Community Fair Trade honey from Bezamar in Ethiopia. The honey is made in the Bale Eco-Region, where hives are handcrafted from locally grown bamboo. The raw comb is harvested and the honey is separated, filtered and tested for quality. These traditional methods promote strong, healthy bees and deter logging.

Final thoughts:

The scrub has a heavenly sent, feels almost creamy (more than soapy) on your skin, and a little goes a long way.

Its recommended that you use it 2-3 times a week on wet skin, and then rinsing and moisturising.

Although it won't miraculously take away your orange peel skin or make you lose a couple of inches, I definitely experienced a smoothing and tightening effect on my skin.

Overall a winner to include in your summer time body care routine.
