I am a total lipbalm addict and don't go for even a couple of hours without applying some. Doing that has maintained my lips in great condition despite the dryness in Joburg. This is the first year that I haven't had dry lips once. I have a big variety of lip balms and keep them in all possible places - 1 at work, 1 in my bag, 1 by my bedside etc

I really don't like this lipbalm. I would even go as far as saying I HATE IT, and it is the first lip balm I feel so negative about. I bought it only because so many people rave about Softlips so I decided to try one for myself. It has a nice slick packaging as it is a lot thinner than some other sticks. The price however exceeds that of most of the bigger balms.

Firstly, the hydrating factor is horrible for me. It contains menthol which is a stimulant for lips. Even when my lips aren't dry to start with, the moment I apply this I feel like they are getting tight and irritated. I just feel like rubbing it off immediately. I dont see how lips can feel soothed with this on.

Secondly, the flavour (honeydew melon) is so horrible in my opinion. I don't really have a habit of licking my lips but somehow it always manages to get into my mouth and it tastes horrible. It has the most overpowering synthetic smell that I can't exactly describe but it tastes/smells way too strong and perfumy.

Anyway I really dislike it and will probably have to give this one away to someone who likes it....Not recommended.
