Calling all Smashbox and CC Cream Fans – this is a must read for you!
I was lucky enough to review Smashbox’s CC Cream; who says good things don’t happen to great people ;) Just kidding!
Before I share my experience of the CC Cream, let’s take a minute to clarify what a CC Cream actually is. Since the emergence of the BB Cream, critics argue that everyone’s jumped on the alphabet bandwagon, hence the latest CC and DD creams. What they don’t realise is that each of these creams have special properties and a unique function. To assess a products’ quality as well as its’ ability to deliver on its promise, one has to put the product to the test. As a previous user of BB Cream I’m definitely not in agreement with the critics (what do they know anyway, lol). My experience with my new CC Cream was significantly different from that of my BB Cream.
CC Creams are colour correcting products. As the name suggests, they work to even out skin tone and lighten dark marks. CC Creams often contain antioxidants which are essential for your skins long term well being.
This is Smashbox’s promise to its CC Cream users:
“The advanced, lightweight formula neutralizes and brightens skin for a more even complexion. It's also proven to fade dark spots, sun spots and post-acne marks instantly and over time”
• Primes, perfects, protects (with SPF 30!), moisturizes and controls oil

• Immediately evens skin with a tinted formula, and prevents discoloration in the future
My Smashbox CC Cream experience :)
Smashbox CC Cream comes in a sleek, sexy ivory packaging. As far as Smashbox goes, products definitely have the ‘eye candy’ feature. I’m sure most of you would agree, even though we know better than to judge a book by its’ cover, a great looking product holds more promise than a not so great looking one. The cream is light weight, with a smooth velvety texture. It doesn’t have a signature scent, which suits me just fine, that’s a job of another product anyway. It is absorbed easily into the skin and is definitely effective with regards to oil control.
My primary skin concern is uneven tone and dark marks; battle scars left behind after a run-in with the demon that is teenage acne. I’ve attached come pictures which highlight the creams immediate effect on dark marks – it really is noteworthy. Although slight, there has been a definite improvement in my skin tone, it now appears more even as well as brighter. For those of you battling the winter skin blues (or dull grays) and looking for a product to illuminate your skin, look no further than a CC Cream.
My Smashbox CC Cream felt great on my skin, lasting long into the day and not rubbing off onto my collar or hands. Another super feature of the cream is its SPF 30. The Protection Power of any product cannot be more greatly appreciated - I love a product which not only makes me feel fabulous right now, but ensures that I look as good as possible years from now. The protection factor highlights that CC Cream isn’t just a makeup product (as is often assumed) but deals in skin care too!
I am LOVING my CC Cream – it is now my prized everyday skincare product. I feel fabulous with it on, and even when it’s off, as now my unsightly dark marks have begun to fade. Give this cream a try ladies, you may be pleasantly surprised!
