So many beauty boffs have sung the praises of the Smashbox BB Water hence I was eager to give it a try. In fact all the ladies in the office were (and they will be submitting their reviews too).
However being a girl that craves the ultimate flawless finish, I had to come back down to earth and expect that this BB Water wouldn't cover up every "teenie weenie" blemish. I was proved wrong.
In layman's terms it is a tinted water-based blemish balm but in reality, I would dub this a light-medium coverage foundation. Think MAC Face and Body but better. Speaking of which, you may have heard of MACs new Waterweight Foundation SPF 30. It's the SAME thing and I mean EXACTLY the same. Being that Smashbox and MAC are in the same cosmetic family (Estee Lauder Companies), it isn't surprising that marketers wanted to see which one would sell better: a blemish balm or a foundation (P.S. Opting for MAC will save you about R50).
Foundations these days are coming out with fancy dropper applicators and being a product junkie, this got my attention. I figure droppers are the next best thing to pumps and just as you would your favourite serum, you can control the amount of product you wish to use.
Serum-based foundations and water-based foundations are coming out at the perfect time. This spring/summer season it's all about skin skin skin, and the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water SPF 30 along with a great skincare routine will provide that flawless finish you crave.
TIP: Apply with hands as if moisturizing your face with lotion. Your fingers are the best tool for evenly spreading out products like BB's and lightweight foundations.
