I have really red and blotchy skin so after doing my research, this was the one for me.

It has a green snotty colour and a smooth silky texture which goes on great. It hid most of my redness, by most I mean everything except where I needed it, on my nose. I also found that my fine lines and wrinkles looked worse at the end of the day.

Its not great but its not bad either. I much prefer the Elizabeth Arden primer.

Having studied Aesthetics I know the virtues of a Green Primer and I have hunted high and low for quiet some time in our little Metropolis for a green primer to help hide my scars, it was truly like finding the Holy Grail when on vacation I finally found this product from Smashbox on a trip to Pretoria. This primer spreads on so smoothly leaving the skin feeling silky smooth and it forms the perfect base for make-up. I am however a low maintenance girl when at home and even though it looks like it has the potential to leave you looking like the hulk the color fades so effortlessly into your skin there is no hint of green even when you wear this without foundation or coverage over it. I have truly felt like not only does this help hide the redness but I found that as I started wearing this my skin which was one vividly red and visibly swollen at the site if the pimples is not less so, this product soothes the inflammation not only hiding it! This is my number one product!

I must admit when I saw the very green colour of Smashbox Photo Finish Colour Correcting Adjust I was quite sure it would turn my face a sickly shade of green :/ But it didn't at all! It disappeared as soon as I applied it, and within seconds those horrible red marks that are the remains of a breakout.. were less red and less noticeable!
It also created a perfect canvas for foundation, its silky smooth finish allows foundation to apply easily and smoothly. It also seemed to make my foundation last longer.
It is expensive but if you have problems with redness of any kind on your face it is worth it and it will last a long time as a little goes a long way :)

Testing out a cult classic

I was so excited to try this product! I'm always tempted by green-toned make-up as I struggle with redness on my cheeks and around any blemishes. I have very pale, combination skin.

I always use a primer, as I need my make-up to last all day and stay fresh. Smashbox primers are a cult classic for a reason, they really do their job well. A pea-sized amount applied all over the face helps to create a silky barrier between your skin and your foundation. This means that it doesn't sink into any pores or settle into fine lines, helping to create a blurred and more even effect. DON'T use a huge amount, primer works better if you use a little bit and let it settle before you apply your foundation.

In terms of counteracting redness, this is the perfect first step in your routine if redness is one of your concerns. It's not going to wipe out all the red, but it certainly helps. Team it up with a green concealer on blemishes, an illuminating foundation (Smashbox Liquid Halo is the holy grail of foundations) and a light dusting of powder (yellow-toned powder will counteract redness even more).

Overall I'd say this is a good buy if you want a high-quality primer with skincare benefits (the formula contains vitamin A and E, aloe, lemongrass, soybean oil and orchid complex), as well as something to start off your redness-concealing routine. It's a little pricey but will last you ages if you use the right amount. Give all the Smashbox variants a swatch if you're looking for a primer, with all their variants you'll definitely find the right one for you!

I have always had a complex about my skin ever since I had acne as a teenager. I never left the house without a full mask of makeup and used to always wear my hair down covering my cheeks, my confidence was shattered.

I had tried every single beauty product on the market, all claiming to “make acne scars invisible” and “get flawless skin now”, but somehow, I always got disappointed after I’d spend hundreds of Rands only for the product not to deliver on its promises.

Move forward to 2014 and even though my acne has now turned into reddish scars over the years and my confidence has gotten a bit better, I am still on the hunt for that beauty product that will give me the “flawless finish”.

Enter (drum roll please) Smashbox. This was found on a very random window shopping experience in Woolworths one Sunday afternoon. I met a lovely sales lady who persuaded my mom and I to try the products on offer and yes, you guessed it, all offering to give a “flawless finish”.
The only difference this time is that it delivered! Yes, you heard me, it delivered and not only on one or two products, on every single product I have used.

But wait, this review is about the Smashbox Primer (I am getting carried away). I was up until recently, using the Smashbox Photo Finish Dark Spot Correcting Primer and yes, it was a pretty good one, so I was hooked. Then Beauty Bulletin gave me the opportunity to try out a different one, Smashbox Photo Finish Colour Correcting Adjust, perfect to “banish the appearance of redness”…. how did they know! I was truly excited when I saw this!

Ok let’s cut to the chase, this product did not disappoint, even though it’s a hideous green colour, it’s meant to be like this because green apparently disguises the redness. It smoothed on to produce a super silky layer which honestly I have never felt before from a product and after I applied my usual base, the coverage results were amazing. Not only was the redness on my face reduced, it also gave me a smooth finish and my face didn’t feel as dry. I am not going to lie, their products are quite pricey but they last quite long and you will not be disappointed. It’s so worth it and as the saying goes, we all have to “suffer for beauty” in one way or another.

Let’s face it ladies, no product can ever give you a “flawless finish” unless you have flawless skin, but Smashbox Photo Finish Primers will be the closest you will get to perfection.

And we can all do with some of that every now and again..... mwahxxx

Ok so i bought the Smashbox Primer this past weekend from Woolworths, Cost R350 for 30mls - the lady at the cosmetic counter advised me to take the Colour Corrector primer which is the peach one. I have used the product for 3 days now and im not entirely convinced as yet. It does not contain that silicone feel which i hoped for, and my makeup appears to look the same as when without using the primer?! my personal opinion is that i should have stuck to my MAC prep and prime:(

For anybody who suffers from red skin, this product is an absolute winner! This green primer has a indulgent silky feel on application. Don't be alarmed by the colour, it neutralises the redness of your skin and the effects can be seem immediately after application. The reduction in the redness of your skin is immediately noticeable. The primer provides a smooth canvas for foundation application. I don't leave home without my new miracle "Shrek-cream."

This product was the first smashbox product Ive tried. . I tend to have un-even skin and this product smoothes and glides over my skin giving my make up a fantastic finish. It made my face look flawless in pictures. Its not at all oily which is great because i have combination skin. There was the added bonus t that it made my make-up last all day long. I honestly wasn't expecting much when i first tried it but i was pleasantly surprised...it does work!!!
