I love Skinceuticals as a brand as there brand is synonymous with highly researched skincare products. The Triple Lipid Restore is an anti-ageing treatment that aims to refill the cellular lipids. Cellular lipids are the natural compounds in the skins surface. These natural compounds are ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids.
Lipid depletion can cause the skin to age causing roughness, tightness, dullness and loss of fullness as lipid loss compromises the skins natural protective barrier.
Triple Lipid Restore is formulated with 2% ceramides, 4% cholesterol & 2 %fatty acids, hence the name Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2. This concentration of ingredients is apparently optimal to restore the lipid layer and thus improve the skin.
I was drawn to this treatment because I am 44, my skin can look dull, dehydrated and lax (especially around the nasal labial folds) I find my pores are generally enlarged.
I used the treatment in the morning and evening after cleansing. The results were extremely pleasing with my skin looking smooth, nourished and radiant with improvement on most my highlighted concerns (with the exception of my nasal labial folds).
I do feel the treatment might have been a little rich for my skin as I did have a mild breakout along my chin and sides near my hairline, but this could have been hormonal and not linked to the product as I have recently had some hormonal changes.
The bottom line in my eyes, this product is perfect for someone who skin looks depleted and in need of nourishment at surface level as a healthy skin barrier is going to make you look YOUNGER.
