Athens is a teal-green colour. I think you could probably get away with one thick coat because it is so opaque but I stuck to my usual two coats. I absolutely love this darker green / blue colour but be warned. It stained all the skin around my nails. I tried rubbing it off differently and it helped. So be warned, try not to rub the polish towards your skin when taking it off. The staining I did have I took off with a bit more polish remover and a scrubbing session with my nail brush. This colour is so pretty that it is still worth it.
