This is my favourite product. I have it in the raspberry starter kit, and it's still going strong, I admit its really costly to purchase the kit, however it's completely worth it and I would recommend everyone tries it out if you get the chance. It takes a bit long to do a proper gel manicure, and it would be better if you got someone to help you out because it can get tricky! Plus a neat tip is to use extra of the clear gel for a longer lasting manicure.

Absolutely love this kit! it totally blew me away and changed the way i do my nails. It was the first time ever i did something like this because i have never been to the salon to do my nails but ussually just paint my nails with normal nail polish. The great thing about this is there is absolutely no drying time,if you follow the instructions to the letter you will have beautifully painted and high gloss finish nails until you remove them and lastly gel actually strengthens the nails so i had no nails break when i ussually do. Recommend this to everybody. The starter kit i agree you do fork out quite a large amount but if you think about the long term results and how long it will last you bit is actually cheaper than doing your nails at the salon or painting them with normal nail polish

Ok so first off, I've never had any kind of gel on my nails before.. One - because I have good strong nails by themselves, so I never saw the need. And two - because I never felt like I had a big enough occasion that would justify the cost of getting gel nails done at the salon.
So when I got the mail from Lori/Beautybulletin that I have been chosen to test this home gel nail kit, I was super excited & a little nervous at the same time.
The SensatioNail starter kit (which we received) comes with all the essentials that you need to get yourself started, including the LED lamp & one colour polish.
When I first saw the size of the top&base coat and colour bottles in the kit, I was a little disappointed, thinking they must be test sizes. But the instructions said that you would be able to do 10 full manicures with them. And while doing my first mani with it, I saw that you really only need a little of the product for it to go a long way (without being skimpy).
I also like the fact that you're able to buy the different colour polishes individually, in double the size (20 applications). And you have the option to top up your essentials (gel cleanser, primer, top&base coat, manicure stick, buffer & lint-free wipes) with the essentials kit.
Application of the product, eventhough it was my first time, was really easy and relatively quick. And I'm sure that each time you use it, it will go even quicker & smoother, as with anything you get more 'practiced' at.
I would definitely recommend watching the little tutorial videos on the SensatioNail website before doing this manicure for yourself at home. They are very helpful and immediately put my mind to ease.
I'm a very 'hands on' person, using my hands a lot everyday, which means that nail polish on my finger nails usually don't last very long. With this sensational mani, my nails stayed perfect the whole 2 weeks. No chips, beautifully shiny & I could easily have kept it on for another week, if it wasn't for my nail growth ('naked' nail starting to show at the base of the nail).
Removing the gel polish - understandably - takes a little longer than with normal nail polish. And they also have a removal kit that you can purchase separately, which works really well and would be my first choice for easy removal. Alternatively, you can soak your nails in acetone for 10-15 min and use an orange stick to lift the polish off your nails.
Good tips for removal are to make sure you buff through the top (clear) coat of your mani, so the acetone can reach and 'soften' the gel polish layers below. I also recommend applying petroleum jelly to the area around your nails, finger tips & cuticles to minimise the drying effects of the acetone.
Apart from this being an amazing product in its own right, the pricing structure contributes to making this a worthwhile purchase!
The recommended retail price of the starter kit is R995-00, from which you will get 10 full manicures (an average of 20 weeks' worth), costing u R99-50 a mani. Which is a whole lot less than the average R250-R300 you would pay at the salon for your gel nail application.
If you then purchase an essentials kit R289-00 and another gel colour R159-00, which will give you another 20 full manicures (40 weeks ie. the rest of the year), your manicures work out to only R22-40 a pop!
All in all, I LOVE this product and will definitely be stocking up on many more of the other colours!! And Christmas being just around the corner.. hint... hint... ;)
Have a look at the step-by-step photos I took while doing my first SensatioNail gel polish mani, uploaded on my Beautybulletin profile. And I will also be uploading a video review with more thoughts on the product.

Oh.My.Word! This is such an amazing home manicure kit. As a nail fanatic, my mind was completely blown by how easy this Sensationail kit was to use.
It comes with all the essentials in mini starter sizes which includes your LED lamp for curing, your gel cleanser, primer, base and top coat, gel colour, lint free pads, cuticle stick and nail file and buffer!
Everything in the kit is explained in details so don't worry about missing any steps or doing anything wrong. It's so easy!
The main thing that just amazed me and probably change my whole look on traditional nail polishes is the drying time....it's almost zero! I could literally dig in my handbag 1min after finishing my manicure.
Another thing that surprised me, is that the shine lasts the full length of your manicure. Amazing!
I do believe that this is more affordable than constantly going to the salon to get your nails done by a professional and definitely recommend this to laddies who don't like waiting for polish to dry or hate their polish cracking after day 2 of their manicure!

I was so lucky to be given the opportunity to try the SensatioNails kit.
I had seen the write up on Beauty Bulletin and seen the whole kit at Dischem I really wanted to try it out but I didn't have the initial fee of R995 to buy the kit. I really didn't understand what the big fuss over gel nails was I mean other brands are even making "Gel" polish that you can use without the light. (FYI I tried one brand and no way does it compare to the REAL deal!)
So that all being said when I unpacked the box I was a bit intimidated by all the bottles and steps BUT once I read the instructions and followed them step by step I was done in about 15 minutes and my manicure lasted over 2 weeks! Come to think of it the only reason I removed it was because my nails had grown so much that there was a huge gap between the polish and my cuticle.
In the initial kit for R995 you get enough of all the products to last you up to 10 manicures! So that is R99 per manicure way less than what you would pay at the salon for Gel Nails which you are looking at +- R290 per manicure.
Once that kit is finished you can purchase the Essential kit, this is the colourless kit that has the top/base coat, primer and cleanser in it for R289. If you want an additional colour that will cost R159 (Less than the price at a salon for ONE manicure!)and that bottle will last up to 20 manicures so that is under R30 per manicure! What a saving!!
So ladies who spend so much time and money getting their gel nails done why not try out the SensatioNails range and do your own nails it is so much faster than going to a salon, less chit-chat, in the comfort and privacy of your own home and the best news is that it is even CHEAPER than a salon!
