Schwarzkopf Palette Deluxe Smooth Red Violet 5-889

The dye was extremely gentle on my hair and gave the perfect shine and outstanding colour after dying.. but after 3 washes the colour faded drastically and went from bright red to orange

I recently put the Schwartskopf Palette deluxe oil care color to the test, I used the shade "Smooth red violet" on my hair, and I was very nervous to put it over the mess that was my hair, because I hadn't dyed my hair in over 3 months (I was considering going back to my natural roots - but I'm a hair rehab failure.) I had serious root regrowth, as well as just generally uneven colour all over my head.

Knowing that there was a high possibility of a hair disaster - I went ahead and did it anyway. haha! I like to live dangerously.

Spoiler: It turned out even better than I could have hoped.

I was delightfully surprised at how even the coverage and colour turned out, there was no demarcation line, no hot roots, just beautiful and even colour!

Pros:

Easy to use, the formula is not too thick or too runny, it's a breeze to apply
decent range of colours
Colour is true to the colour on the box
Doesn't leave your hair feeling damaged after use

Cons:

It's gentle on hair, but not ammonia free
It has a chemical smell - but not worse than your average box of dye

Overall I had a great experience with Schwarzkopf palette deluxe, and I am living my beat hair life right now!

I was born a brunette and that has always been my go to colour for suing my hair. I am a little sceptic about dyeing my hair other colours.

Red is such a vibrant colour that's why I opted for the voilet red, cause I knew it wouldn't be such a popping colour on my brown hair. I've always used one other brand on my hair, it was the only brand that gave my hair such a deep nourishing colour. But the Schwarzkopf deluxe colour palete is amazing on any shade of hair. I have been getting such amazing compliments on the colour of my hair, I dont think I'll be using any other dye soon. The colour it gives your hair is amazing.

First Impressions
The packaging is good its like most other dyes. Like most dyes they have plastic gloves that you have to use that's one size, I have really small hands so I basically had to use latex gloves.

Dying my hair
From the beginning to the end the due feels so good and nourishing. The paste is the correct texture to cover your whole head but if you do have long and thick hair like me, you'll need to but 2 packs but trust me you won't regret it. The colour is so radiant and you can see your colour change when you are applying it. The nourishing mask that comes with the dye smells so amazing but if you have oily hair you should keep your hair length in mind and apply according to your length. I have washed my hair twice and the colour is still the same, I am really happy about that and it still feels soft and nourishing.

After
I still need to adjust to the new colour but I am really satisfied with the end result. My hair looks and feels healthy, and it's really shiny. I have received such amazing comments from friends and family

Tips
If you have long and thick hair but 2 packages.
Definitely use dark clothing when dying your hair, colour is really vibrant.
Start with your ends rather than your roots, your end takes longer to colour than the roots.
Do not tie your hair in a bun, the colour won't spread evenly

Red hair is such a daring and vibrant colour, but maintaining that perfect red hue can be an expensive upkeep, which is honestly why I am so grateful to have been part of this #TurnColourIntoLuxury campaign. I had been religiously using a different at-home hair dye brand for over a year which I raved about to all my family and friends as I always get compliments about my hair colour but I'm absolutely sold on the Schwarzkopf Deluxe Palette in Smooth Red Violet.

First Impressions:
I was not the greatest fan of the packaging but I actually think it's because the box got a little squished on delivery. (The courier company obviously didn't know how excited I was to receive the package and the importance of the contents). I loved the gloves that came with the dye, the hair dye brand I previously used, the quality of the gloves were not great and always broke that I actually bout a box of latex gloves, so that was a big plus for me.

Dying my Hair:
I don't think I can do the dye justice by explaining how incredibly nourishing it felt on my hair, I have always experienced dye making my hair feel hard while its on but this dye made my hair feels so soft, it felt like I was dying my hair and giving it a treatment at the same time. Since my hair was already a faded red I wasn't expecting a crazy difference but when I saw my hair colour once it was blown I was actually shocked, my hair looked (looks) insanely good (so much adjectives, sorry not sorry).

After Dying my Hair:
After the second wash my hair still ran red quite a bit that is rather normal for red. I have washed my hair now 4 times and the colour still looks amazing. The mask that comes with dye is very nourishing and makes your hair really soft. I would advise using it sparingly if you have a oily scalp like me, rather focus on the length of your hair.

I've received such amazing feedback from so many people about how amazing my colour looks, and it has made me feels so confident. Being a redhead is not just colour, it's a lifestyle. You live and breathe the confidence that a red mane give's you. I am definitely switching to Schwarzkopf Deluxe Palette.

*Hair dye tip
Always try to wear dark clothing that you no longer love when dying your hair.
If you do mess on clothing/carpets, spray the area with hairspray and wash/scrub it.
