Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat

Using this is a dream, it dries so quickly and I love the effect created with this and the Yardley top coat and bonder.

I was desperate to get a base coat because it’s almost time to whip out those dark, wintery nail colours that may sometimes cause staining on the nails. I bought this Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat, because you can use it as a base coat as well as a top coat. I always thought that a base coat was the same as clear nail polish, but after using this product, I notice the huge difference. Unlike clear nail polish, this product forms a part of your nail surface and does not just sit on your nails, like clear nail varnish does. This base coat looks really natural when you have it on, only that your nails look a lot healthier. I love that it protects and nourishes my nail, while keeping a barrier between the colourants in nail polish, and my natural nail. It also levels out and smooth any ridges and imperfections, and does not form little bubbles on the surface, like clear nail varnish does sometimes.

The base coat does dry very, very quickly which is great. However, you have to wait for whatever nail colour you apply on after to dry completely before applying this product. It does not help other nail varnishes to dry instantly like Sache Vete. This product is more of a quick dry base and top coat, and it helps to prevent your nail colour from chipping.
