Nice to find a lipstick that doesn't dry my lips out! Coral garden came out quite dark on my lips. I like the colour but it doesn't last very long, you'll have to reapply every couple of hours.
As far as affordable lipsticks go, I believe in R&R ... Revlon and Rimmel, that is! I promise you, there is no need to fork out an odd R200 on a MAC lippie if you can make a perfectly affordable cheer-me-up impulse purchase at your nearest Clicks or Dischem. And guess what? Even the famous Alexa Chung uses Rimmel Moisture Renew! How's that for name dropping? As far as Rimmel lip products go, I've always been a fan. When I saw the Rimmel Moisture Renew, complete with pretty purple and Chrome packaging, I became even more of a fan. When I saw the shocking pink shade 360 As You Want Victoria, I was sold. 'Redheads are meant to stick to natural colours', they say. Well, I don't know who 'they' are, but I proved them wrong. Very eager to spruce up my Friday, I tried my new lippie. At first the boyfriend commented 'whoa, it's very pink', but I didn't listen to him. What do boys know anyway? I had a mad dash to the office as I parked kilometers away from my building, and had two coffees, all before 10am, and guess what? The lipstick stayed on.
The beautiful bright pink (not quite fuchsia, but more berry) is gorgeous to make a statement, but glamorous enough to keep things classy. The moisturising formula glides on like a dream and makes application super easy. The formula is also enhanced with vitamins A and E ... all the good things, you know! The more moisturising the formula is, the less likely the staying powder of the lipstick is. I, however, found it to be quite pigmented and long lasting. If that's not the case for you, here's a little trick: apply, blot, dab translucent pressed powder on the lips, and reapply. Works like a charm! I will definitely repurchase this product, and will stock up on the rest of the lovely shades in the range as well. If you are looking for an affordable lippie to spruce up a summer outfit, this is the one!
I must agree that this lipstick is amongst the most moisturising one I’ve used within its price category, although I have used one that is even more moisturising but much pricier. It glides on smoothly and leaves a comfortable texture on the lips. There is a flowery fragrance to this lipstick but is not noticeable after application. As for the colour, the pigmentation is good but it doesn’t last for hours.
