If I needed any more reason to shop at Dischem, there sale last week cemented my consumerism with them. They had/have a massive Rimmel and Yardley sale where I picked up this amongst other shades of Rimmel lipstick for R25 each- Yes, GO-RUN, START THOSE CARS and go get some too!!
This stunner is from there Lasting Finish Lipstick which they work in conjunction with celebrities to create their signature shade and mass produce it for sales. This is shade 08, a soft, creamy indulgent almost transparent looking colour that merely enhances the colour of ones lips. This one is endorsed by Kate- Hudson or Moss I’m not sure, but all I know is that I absolutely adore this colour.
The canister is sleek rounded and plain black in colour except for the red signature with heart on the lid. On the top of the lid there is the iconic Rimmel logo of their signature crown etched. The lipstick bullet is smooth and is easily expelled from the canister. The lipstick glides on with ease and leaves lips thoroughly smooth, hydrated and moisturized. The formula is so light and buttery that it feels super luxurious on lips. I would say the lippie is of medium lasting power as it easily transfers onto your glass, tissue or cutlery. But even after the colour is gone, the moisture is still present.
The colour is a very faint pearly pink that shows up almost nude on lips, leaving them with a healthy glow. There is a hint of sparkle in the formula which makes lips shine and dazzle from every angle. The colour and shine make it perfect for a subtle day or refined night look. The formula is non-irritating and odourless.
I love that I was able to find a new lip bestie that’s affordable and from one of the hippest Make-up brands around and at R25 I can afford to try out their other shades and celebrity credited colours. Cue lip co-ordinated outfits for the next few months ;) The normal retail selling price is R93.95.
