This eyeshadow trio is amazingly affordable and of good quality. The trio features a plummy purple shadow, a lilac shadow and a silvery shadow. I use the lilac on my eyelid, the plum shade in my crease and the silver as a highlighter.

The lilac shadow creates a lovely, soft wash. The plum shade is more highly pigmented. The silvery shade works as a highlighter without being chalky, remaining soft and blendable.

However, the shadows don't have the staying power that was promised. When used with an eyelid primer they fare much better. A great budget buy!

I LOVE eye shadow, clearly by the amount I own. Since embracing make-up and being more adventurous with my looks, I’ve become somewhat of a hoarder of Make-up; everything I see I want and must have. So, obviously I made an in-correct purchase due to the temptation of the sales table.

I purchased this wonderful looking and enticing colour combination from Dischem a while back and only noticed my error once I had already ripped off the packaging and tried it on. I’ve never been a fan of RED, let alone Red eye shadow but the cute strawberry look through its packaging had me hooked.

I am now a huge fan of Rimmel and this shadow combination. It consists of beige, red and light bronze shades. The packaging is in full black with a clear window on the top to see the perfectly triangled sections of shadow. There is a double-sided black sponge tip applicator. I found the applicator a nuisance as the sponge doesn’t fully fit into the shadow compartments and instead scrapes of the shadow resulting in a waste.

Rimmel is a London brand and so focus on giving us the perfect tools to re-create the London look, epitomized by Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham. This brilliant eye shadow has a very helpful and detailed label on the back that shows you exactly how to use the shades of this trio. Firstly, it complements blue eyes (which I do not have); this is a really helpful piece of information as often ladies don’t know what shades suit them (me included it seems). It also gives you advice on creating 2 different looks, a subtle look and the London look. I’ve mainly gone with the subtle look and opted to use the red when creating other looks and colour combinations.

The shadow is highly pigmented and gives off a very polished and refined look. It doesn’t flake or rub-off but if not used with a primer or base doesn’t have very long lasting power. I had to do 2 touch-ups when I used it for a night out just to ensure that the colours were noticeable.
