I have recently been getting braver with my makeup purchases - after about 8 years of only using Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (I'm somewhat of a foundation snob, as I found if I spend more on a bottle, I use less, and one bottle of this lasts me about 5-6 months, and I wear foundation daily, often reapplying if I'm going out at night)
After a slightly disappointing purchase of a Catrice Camera ready foundation I was a little disheartened, until I tried this! It has the slightest bit of shimmer in it which reflects light, causing your skin to look flawless and photoshopped! It also lasts beautifully as well, which is rare in such a drugstore find.
My only issue was that I bought it without testing the colour and it's a too light for me (which might be an issue with summer coming, as I tan easily), but I have used it almost as a primer before applying my regular foundation and my skin has gotten so many compliments!
Perhaps I will purchase another bottle in a darker shade and mix the two to create my own shade?
A Colleague of mine sells Avon products at work and she's always asking me to have a look at her book and I often do but I just never see anything that I cant find anywhere else....and after my run-in with acne last year I am super careful about the products I use on my skin. So I browsed through the book and came across this new Make-up Setting spray. I know that MAC also has one, which is magic, but it does leave my skin a bit oily and the price....
So I thought R90 wont kill me let me give it a try and I must say I was not disappointed. At night when I am taking off my make up I still look like I just put it on. It works like a BOMB!! Nothing comes off until you wipe it off.
and the best part? Its oil free. My face by 2pm gets a bit of a shine and I would have to apply some powder, with this product your face is matt the whole day, no shine at all! Isn't that amazing? and just as amazing is the price, at R90, its hard to find anything that worth while.
I don't do product reviews very often, cause I feel you really have to believe that its something worth while and I have to use it myself, but this is a product I would definitely recommend.
Today I would like to tell you about this fantastic product which I just bought its called Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush Mousse. It is awesome!!
I usually use a BB cream on my face now cause I just finished my course of Oratane so I am enjoying blemish free skin!! Yeah me. So I just wanted a light cover for the pink blotches and an even tone. Clicks was having a make-up sale so I decided to check it out and lo and behold I came across this product. I was a bit sceptical cause after months of treatment and outbreaks I didn't want change products, but I was told that all Revlon products are allergy tested and should not have any reaction to my skin, and so I bought it.
Applying it is the easiest part, you just shake the bottle and then put a small bit on your hand, then with your fingers apply to your face evenly. It is so light weight but yet so effective that you will be amazed how so little goes such a long way! You also wont feel like you have anything on at all.It also gives your skin a smooth and even finish when its done. Its as if you are photo-shopped!! lol
I was so surprised at how people stopped me at the mall just to say that I look like a porcelain doll-imagine! That's how good it is.
So today I just want to thank Revlon for such an amazing product and Clicks for the sale. I paid R85 for it on sale, but I am sure the retail price is not much more.
I bought this when I wanted to try out something different and was interested in the container. The product comes out as a foam/mousse substance and I notice after you spray it, give it a couple seconds and a little extra comes out on it's own. This is a light foundation, does not feel as heavy on your skin as others. For me the formula is a bit too watery and I like a slightly thicker coverage. Would not re-buy as it just not for me, try it out if you want something light.
Probably the worst foundation i used, or maybe i bought a reject...
This foundation does not appear "mousse-like" when you get it out the bottle, it kind of dissolves (sort of like the last bit of whipped cream out the can)
Disappointed with Revlon on this one. It doesnt blend well, it has a horrible smell to it, and the colours dont seem to be of the natural palette. It leaves a sticky residue feeling on your skin. Not a great buy.
I loved this foundation. The amount of mouse dispensed is more than enough for one light application but if you like more cover I found using more is effective - it builds nicely. Used together with a primer it really does give a flawless airbrushed look. I suggest applying it with a brush in circular movements. Natural Beige was the correct colour for me. Just one thing - doesn't last a full 8 hour day.
