Oh. My. Goodness. Since I have worn makeup, I have never taken to a lip product the way I have taken to the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. I don't wear lipstick every day as I have sensitive lips with dry, sometimes dull skin, so I for daily wear I opt for a tinted lip balm. The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter is by no means a lipstick, and I'd definitely liken it more to a lip balm -- possibly the best one I have ever used.
For someone with dull, dryish lips like mine, the formula is so moisturising. It is incredibly soft and buttery and is definitely what I love the most about this product. In terms of colour delivery, this range is more like a tinted balm, so if you are looking for the colour intensity of a lipstick, it would be best to look elsewhere. As far as lip balms go, the tint of the Lip Butter is delivers just the right amount of depth and pigmentation, offering a slight stain with consistent use during the course of the day.
The Lip Butters can be used on their own or layered over lipsticks for a slightly glossy tint.
I have three of these in the shades Peach Parfait, a peachy pink that I think is more suited to fairer skin tones than my medium skin tone, Brown sugar, a shimmery bronze colour that is great to layer over lipstick, and Pink Truffle, a pink colour that is by far my most used shade.
I am not a big fan of lipstick. I am primarily way too busy to bother, but this is one of the best lipsticks I have come across.
There are dozens of delectable colors to choose from. It me almost an hour to select four…
These pretty puppies have a couple of factors that make them one of the best buys in my books.
Firstly, they have a pleasant scent. Many lipsticks just reek of that typical cosmetic smell, but these have a subtle sweet scent.
Secondly, they are basically colored lip balm. The texture of the lipstick is so soft – like butter, hence the name.
It moisturizes your lips while providing your pout with some seriously gorgeous color.
Thirdly, the color lasts ages. Because the lipstick isn't dry it doesn't crack or fade.
After I bought the first one I had to go back and by more. I bought mine at Clicks for about R120.
This product is amazing for somebody like me, who hardly applies makeup. The colour is lovely and deep, and it moisturises my lips, but I don't feel heavy or like I'm wearing too much of makeup. The shade "sugar plum" is gorgeous on me, and I'm going to try out the other colours
love love love these! i too have been waiting forever for these to arrive in sa as i heard the hype from overseas bloggers about this and i was not disappointed it is not that pigmented as a lipstick but it is more like a tinted lip balm that looks like a lipstick some colours show up better than others and the lasting power is not great but it does smell amazing due to the shea butter and coconut oil. also i loved how moisturizing it was and didnt dry out my lips but actually created an amazing shine and moist lips while it was on. i also love how easily it glides on the lips with no fuss or mess without a mirror. the packaging is amazing as the tops are coloured in the colour of the shade so it is easy to quickly find the shade you want. i do think however that the could have made the screw part at the bottom(the black part) a bit more longer to make opening the product easier as i do battle to open it when i am forced to only hold it with side of my finger and not my full finger. but other than that this is probably the best i have tried and i really hope to buy all shades as i only bought the shade lollipop. think of it as a lip balm, gloss and lipstick all in one :)
I read a review on this product months ago and have been excited to try them. But they've taken their sweet time getting to SA.
While wandering around my local clicks the other day I spotted the new Revlon display and nearly died from excitement when I saw that these lip butters were finally available!
I bought a bright pink shade called Sweet Tart. The consistency is very creamy with great pigmentation. I wore this out to an event last week and got so many compliments. It looks like a lipstick, but feels like a butter. My lips felt moisturised and soft. I was really impressed.
The colour isn't long wear though so be prepared to reapply. That said, you don't need a mirror for this as you can glide this on like a lip balm. I'm going to be heading back from some other colours (There's a gorgeous candy apple red and a bright tangerine that I have my eye one).
Price wise it's not bad. I paid around R120 for this which is pretty standard for Revlon. I didn't mind so much. The packaging is pretty, and good quality (it doesn't look like it will smash up in my handbag).
This is a product I will be getting a lot of wear out of this winter.
