The color combinations of these quads make it really easy to come off as a professional. Its lasts throughout the day and doesn't smudge easily. Nice to keep in your handbag make up kit for touch ups.
I find this combo of Eyeshadows perfect for a smokey eye.
It is very easy to blend them together and the dar green metallic shade matches perfectly my dark green eyes.
I got one in one of Clicks Beauty Sales for about R50!
Wow... I LOVE the colour paletes and the arrangement of them. BEAUTIFUL.
Unfortunately for me I have a family inclination to oriental with an African sun toned complexion which all the colours did not complement. But there was a solution... I went and told a couple of my girl-friends and they generously allowed me to reveue the pallets on them with amazing results.. From complexions of toast, olive and cream they worked brilliantly. Thank you for affording me this opportunity. The girls really loved the pampering.
I have a bunch of Revlon quads in different shades. I am usually very impressed with how smooth they are but this one was a bit of a letdown. The shades are very nice. They are well put together for a complete eye look. They are from the top: silvery frosty white, shimmery medium pink, shimmery silver grey and duocrome berry/purple. I normally wear silver on the lid, pink in the crease, white on the browbone, and purple as a liner.
What I don't like about this particular quad is the chunkiness of the shimmer. It is very visible when you start applying and doesn't create a very smooth finish. I also have a lot more fallout from this quad. The pigmentation is not the most intense as a result.
I am not too upset about the quality simply because I paid so little for it. It cost me R10 a shade which is nothing. However if you plan on buying this at full price, I wouldn't recommend this highly.
I have a real soft spot for burgundy and plum colours. They just offer a different spin on your neutral eyeshadow. Plums usually look their best with brown, hazel and green eyes. For my dark brown eyes they definitely do the job.
This quad consits of four colours - pearly white, pearly light pink, muted pinkish light brown (on the skin it looks matte), and a matte wine colour. All the colours really complement each other and are all wearable for day. What I love about these is that the shimmer is very subdued. It is not too pearly but rather satin in texture. The powders are all soft and very easy to blend and they last a long time on the skin. The highlight shade is beautiful under the brow.
The price is a little bit steep but in the end you do get 4 shades. I have seen the quads on clearance sales since I bought mine so it is worth checking out.
The packaging is a bit flimsy. I dropped mine once the the lid broke off the hinge. It is still usable though...
Overall I really recommend this quad for a neutral plum look
I was really impressed with the quality of these eyeshadows. I decided to try a smokey eye using the deep plu,/mauve shade, for a night out on the town. As my eyes are green,I found this colour really brought out my eye colour. It glides on smoothly, and stayed in place perfectly. I have tried this on two separate occasions - as mentioned, for a night out (I combined it with black shadow and eyeliner for a slightly different touch to the smokey eye look), as well as in the day (photo attached). I tried a lighter and darker version, and it looked great both ways- whether layering the colour, or applying a finer layer of the product. It did not smudge at all, or make a mess around my eye area, as some shadows do. It is clear to see that it is a quality product.
I love using this quad. All the shades are very work appropriate:
Top shade - light silvery shade with a tint of lavender
Second shade - light beige
Third shade - taupy grey
Fourth shade - brown grey shade with a bit of olive undertone
All of the shades have a satin finish. Nothing too sparkly. They are very well coordinated and can be combined easily. The actual shadows are very smooth and soft, blend well and do last a good 12 hour day.
I have nothing bad to say about the quad except for I wish it was cheaper. The little sponges that come with it are very typical but not sure if they work because I use makeup brushes instead.
I have 5 of these eye shadow quads. The colors I have are Steel Impressions, Sandstorm, Berry Bloom, Sultry Smoke and Spring Moss. My fave ones, and the two that I use the most are Steel Impressions and Sultry Smoke. Both of these have grey's and blacks on them. The Steel Impressions one has a green color on it and a pretty white color/highlighter. The Sultry Smoke one has a light blue/purple color and a Dark Blue. All these colors are very pigmented and some of them have a slight sparkle to them. They apply nicely and also blend well. They really do last the whole day, and when I'm applying my makeup I usually reach for these eye shadows first. They are so convenient and the colors are very pretty.
What I love about the Sandstorm quad is the shimmer. The browns are gorgeous and so soft and glide so easily onto your eyelids. I don't have any complaints when it comes to these quads. I have been using them for a while and they have lasted very long. I don't experience any fall out, they don't crease, they are very pigmented, the light colors look sheer with a slight shimmer and they blend well.
I purchased this product on sale for only R35 at Edgars. The quad has four eye shadows in very pretty spring/summer colours. It has a pale peach shade, a pale golden yellow shade, a medium violet shade and a medium plumy brown shade. The two lighter shades are not very well pigmented and require some packing on for the true colour to show. The darker shades are better pigmented. All the shadows have a satin finish and are not shimmery at all. The packaging was a bit flimsy which surprised me as Revlon’s packaging is usually of a very good quality. I really like this quad for subtle day time looks and I find that they do last for a long time when used with an eye shadow base/primer. I would recommend buying this product if you find it on sale but I’m not sure whether I’d pay full price for it.
