I'm an ingredient freak, and was fascinated to see these in the line-up: Omega 3 and 7 from arctic blackcurrant seed and arctic seabuckthorn berry oil help to reduce skin inflammation and irritation, Bisabolol soothes and reduces redness and Global protection complex, with a powerful blend of anti-oxidants and free radical scavengers too numerous to list here, protects the skin against UV-induced damage and premature ageing REN Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum is specifically formulated to address the concerns of ageing through sensitivity. It protects, replenishes and visibly improves skin tone to keep sensitive skin looking younger for longer, reduces inflammation, strengthens the capillary walls and reduces hyperpigmentation. Key ingredients here are Milk Polypeptide from Milk Protein, which calms redness and inflammation and strengthens skin's lipid barrier, and Hyaluronic Acid from wheat, which boosts hydration, plumping skin Apply serum under moisturiser in the morning and under night cream in the evening, or use alone if your skin is oilier. It is pretty thick, but I do find that after about 5 minutes it absorbs, which is around the time you have to wait before applying your primer anyschways.
The calming sensation that it gives to your skin is almost unreal. It also leaves you with that choc choc glow. Your skin feels plump & hydrated and it works fantastic under makeup.
The scent is also quite calming with botanical & earthy notes. Highly recommend this product!

I particularly loved the serum, as I don't always like a heavier moisturiser, and sometimes just use the serum on its own. The smell was light and fresh - a bit like cucumber, and the texture was great - absorbed immediately, and left my skin feeling clam and hydrated.
I liked the fact that the packaging is made from renewable resources. It's not the standard glossy cosmetic offering, but the reduced carbon footprint more than makes up for a lack of glitz on the bottle !
