Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

Summer is officially here which usually means plenty of time in the sun and this can take serious toll on one’s hair. While we all (hopefully all of us) cover our bodies and faces in SPF we often neglect our hair. Damaged hair is never a pretty look so I along with my monthly protein treatments at Carlton International Hair I also use a bi-weekly at-home treatment. My current favourite being Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme treatment.
This treatment seriously transforms your hair and is suitable for all hair types although if your hair is extremely fine than you might be better off with the original Elasticizer version. The Extreme is my go-to however as my hair is thicker and tends to be more damaged and porous thanks to all the heated tools I use. Elasticizer Extreme is an intensive, super-moisturising pre-shampoo treatment. It adds elasticity, bounce, shine and contains UV filters for protection.

You can pick yours up from the Rubybox store for R589 including free delivery. Well this isn’t exactly cheap it is reasonable considering each time you only need a small amount and in this case less is more. If you dump too much on your hair it can be difficult to wash out. This means that 150ml can last you well over 6 months when used bi-weekly.

I love this Treatment. It is really pricey though. A tub of 150ml will cost you R589. However regardless of price, it does last a while for me because I have medium length fine hair. This means I only use it from mid length to tips.

It is a pre-shampoo treatment and you have to apply it in sections. Then depending on how damaged your hair is, you can leave it in for 10-20 minutes while covered with a shower cap.

The results after rinsing and your normal routine of shampoo and conditioner is amazing. Your hair feels more manageable and looks much more sleek. It is a brilliant product to use and the scent is quite refreshing.

I love this product! I only apply it from mid-lengths to ends since I have very fine hair. I usually apply it in the morning and leave it on for a few hours. It leaves my hair beautifully soft, tangle-free, and manageable. It is a little pricey, but lasts for quite some time.

Well see now I work in beauty and I get all kinds of things to review and that is wonderful because I love products and I love to try new things! So I received this big pot of stuff called Philip Kingsley Elasticizer from Beauty Bulletin… sounded bizzare but I thought since I have it I should give it a try (And yes, I have wondered about the consequences – What if one day I try something and it eats my hair off) One could argue, referring to my last beauty post, that I would no longer have to wax – If that was the case.

Anyhow, so I read the instructions… I figured that I didn’t need to apply the product right down to the roots, since I’ve not had my hair coloured in about three months. I sat with the thick white cream in my hair, sipping my pink herbal tea. I could not believe how long my hair has grown. After about ten minutes I went for a shower to rinse and shampoo my hair.

It combed out so easily, I was wondering whether I had managed to get all the product out but I was too lazy to get in the shower again so I decided I was just going to dry it and see – If it was really bad I would pin it up and wash it again later.

My hair dried with surprising ease, and all of it fell so beautifully. I felt like Farrah Fawcet, I felt like I had a mane and I LOVED it. I’m very pleased that I have a whole pot of this stuff because I’m going to be using it regularly. https://twitter.com/#!/flickery

I also received a sample of this product from RubyBox. I heard so many great reviews on this product so I couldn't wait to try it. My hair is naturally straight and reasonably healthy and easy to manage. After I used this product, my hair was even softer and shinier and evidently lighter and more voluminous. Since my hair gets oily easily, I only applied the product to the bottom half of my hair. I managed to get 3 uses from the sample that I received and my hair is very long, so not a lot of product needs to be used (which is great since this product is quite pricey).

The product itself is white in colour and quite creamy. It doesn't really smells fragrant at all, in my opinion it smells a bit like the plain hydra creams that people use for sensitive skin.

This product is extremely pricey but is worth every cent. I was beyond excited when I received this inside my rubybox. The sample wasn't a bad size and I got 3 applications out of it. I applied it to wet hair from the roots to the ends and combed it through. I then put my hair up into a shower cap and left it on for 20 minutes. I then rinsed the product out and washed my hair as normal.

This is very moisturising and hydrating. My hair feels like silk after using this and there is absolutely no dry ends or flyaway's in site. It's super soft to the touch and so manageable.. My hair is shiny and healthy-looking. I have very fine hair and this product didn't weigh it down, but instead gave my hair a light feeling and more voluminous look. My hair also appeared cleaner then it usually does.

I love this product. I definitely recommend this if you have very dry hair.

I knew it was going to be good because of all the rave reviews but in my experience its about the best moisturizing treatment I EVER used :)

This product is absolutely awesome! My hair felts silky soft and supple after using this product so a huge thanks to Lori and Kerri for sending me this product to test! Sadly, the price of the 150 ml jar ( R530,00 from Woollies) is a little steep for my haircare budget, so will try and make my samples last as long as possible!

This is a fanatstic product! Detangles, softens and truly turns straw into silk. Love it! I felt an insant difference in the softness of my hair. The shine was amazing!
