Living in sunny South Africa one should always be stocked up on sunscreen as even on a winter’s day the sun can cause havoc with your skin. Yes there is a time (spending a lot of time on water) and a place (the face) for the thick white lotion that offers maximum protection but for everyday outdoor activity I believe one does not have to look like a ghost.

Recently I have been using Nivea Sun Protect and Refresh Invisible Cooling Mist SPF 30. First thing you notice when you spray it on is the lovely cool sensation especially on the back and neck region which finds it down right freezing, but in a good way. The mist is easy to apply and quickly absorbed by the skin leaving you with only a delightful fragrance as a reminder. No greasiness. As the nozzle works from all angles it’s pretty easy to apply to legs, backs and all the hard to reach places. Kids, who generally hate the sunscreen drill do not mind Nivea Cooling Mist because of its fun application.

I have pretty fair skin and I can honestly say that I have not had a hint of a burn whilst using Nivea Sun Cooling Mist. The mist may seem a bit gimmicky but it isn’t as there’s no schlep of applying sunscreen when going for a quick hike so I tend to be a bit more sun savvy.
