New review for Nioxin Hair Treatment System - No 5

I am so pleased with the results i got using this product. i got the no 6 as i have colour treated hair. i apoligise that my last review did not have the promised attached pictures as the files where greater then 1MB and where unable to upload.
Ok, now about the product. i have seen a noticeable difference in my hair thickness. I found that i lost less strands in the shower during the washing and conditioning of my hair. My hair now looks fuller and i can see less scalp when my hair is wet.
i mentioned in my first review that i found the product made my hair dry but i am able to live with this due to the amazing results. I like that the product has a clean fresh scent that reassures me that my hair is in fact clean.
i do find this product more expensive then shampoos and conditioners you can purchase from a drugstore however the fact that it has worked so well for me will make the purchase worth while.
Thank you beauty bulletin and Nixon for giving me the opportunity to review this product and i will definitely purchase this item and hope it keeps working for me and it works for others that have a hair loss problem.

So after reading all the reviews I have to get this for my husband. He has male pattern balding and I think it's generic as his dad started going bald in his 20s also. His dad is now bald and I'm hoping Nioxin can stop my husband from getting there

Final thoughts:
I must admit I was sceptical at first but the results show not only in my hair but in my pictures as well (feel free to have a look ladies)!!!
p.s: ladies and gents may use this product which makes it even better, since some guys also suffer from extreme hair thinning!

hair seems fuller and thicker. People trying out Nioxin, should give it some time, results only appear after a few washes and treatments so ladies/gents don’t be too anxious when expecting results!!

People with sensitive scalps, might find that a rash or red scalp appears from time to time, but this was not the result in my case. With myself I tend to find the result that Nioxin really cleanses my scalp and head of hair, leaving no trace of all the products I use, like dry shampoo or hair shine spray, or even hair food, which is great!! ;-)

Although Nioxin is very pricey, I would rather advise the ladies with thinning hair to invest in this treatment, as results are almost guaranteed to be more than what is expected.
Ladies go on, get yourself some Nioxin Treatment, but only the system/kit which suits your hair needs best!! ;-)

I was excited to try this product as i have tried numerous products and treatments including Minoxidil injections into my scalp, to stop hair loss and promote hair growth and thickening.
I have to admit i have tried the Nioxn range of shampoos and conditioners before as recommended by the salon i have my hair cut at and i found the product expensive and did not see any drastic results in the 2 month period I did use it for. This was # years ago and was the hair-fall range.
I began using this product 3 weeks ago (postal delay) and my first impression was that it dried my hair out. i do not use any styling tools such as hair irons, curler etc on my hair. I was willing to overlook this drying effect for the sake of stronger thicker hair. I wash my hair every alternate day and i stopped the use of all other products i was using to prevent hair loss and promote growth.
I noticed by the second week that my hair fall during the washing process had decreased and this was very pleasing to me. I will do a final review at the end of 4 weeks as i feel that this would be a true review of the product.
please find attached the before pictures of the state of my hair (wet hair). i will post pictures with my final review at the end of the 4 week period.

What is important for us Ladies is that we should take into account is the four main causes of hair loss and work on it, along with an excellent Hair Treatment System like Nioxin.
Causes include: Lack of a balanced diet, the usage of wrong shampoo/conditioner, medical conditions like (hyper thyroidism) and last excessive or incorrect blow drying or styling.
I feel that if you follow the any Nioxin Kit`s instructions exactly as instructed to, and if its applied properly, then one will see results and AmAzInG results within weeks or months!! ;-))
Within four weeks of usage, I saw some definite changes in my hair, and it was excellent changes, so I’m keen to continue using the products (thanks Beauty Bulletin) for the generous size Kit, now I can afford to continue using the products.
Key is to use these products as directed step by step: I will include a quick rundown of how each product should be applied in the Kit.
Step 1: Shampoo – Should be applied to wet hair, lathered for 1 minute, rinsed thoroughly!(p.s: in one of my early listings, I gave some pointers on how one should wash one`s hair step by step – please feel free to read that as it could help a lot!!)
Step 2: Conditioner – After Shampooing the hair, apply Conditioner to wet hair and leave on for 1-3 minutes.
Step 3: Scalp Treatment- the Scalp Treatment should be sprayed on after the conditioner process. It may be combed in and thereafter hair can be blow-dried.
Overall the results I found from using the Nioxin Treatment Kit 5 (important to note is this kit is mainly for Medium to Coarse hair in early stages of thinning) is as follows: My hair has more volume in it. Hair loss is reduced day by day; I could see this in my brushes from week 2-3 onwards. Because the shampoo/conditioner contains Mint, I think it contributes to the result of Dirt and build-up being removed more effectively with every wash. It seems my hair is thicker but not only from the mid shaft of each hair strand, more like from inside the hair cuticle. My scalp seems more moisturised as well as my hair, has some shine in it, as seen from my pictures ;-)) very impressed with these products...

Personal Thank You: Thank you Nioxin for giving me new hope with my long list of hair issues (which include, hair breakage, no growth, oily, lifeless hair), which I feel will soon be a problem of the past. so by now ive been using this treatement pack for 4 weeks in total. And although I cant see immense growth, I have noticed my hair is so much thicker ;-) and it has quite some shine in it too. #So happy about that, since all Ive seen with the use of my old hair care products is dull, damaged and even much thinner hair. The fact that I relax (chemical treat) my hair just worsens the situation.

Another advantage ive seen with the use of Nioxin Treatment 5 system- is that my brushes are showing/indicating much less hair, in the past month I have been using Nioxin. ;-) In the past my hair used to break off and fall out to an extent and the hair would be quite a bit in my brushes.

I absolutely cannot stress how much I love the fact that the scalp treatment (step 3) in the process can be comb into the damp hair, and thereafter on can blow-dry hair or style hair as desired. This treatment does not even weigh down my hair in the least, so I really cant help but love it, and knowing that it will help my hair grow, is just a bonus!

Ladies/Gents, I feel it is absolutely important that one choose the correct system in the Nioxin Range, which is suited to your own individual Hair Problems. Divided into 6 Levels, one should choose the level which corresponds to your hair type. Also note, Systems are divided into Hair that is just beginning to thin and Hair with Advanced Thinning-so choose wisely! ;-)

Use to have thinning hair, but thanx to Noixin that beauty problem is solved. Nioxin treatmentment is a three step treatment. This treatment replaces your normal shampoo and conditioner. I higjly recommend this treatment to all people with thinning hair.

I got the treatment and at first i was very sceptical in using it, i have very thin hair even tho it grows but it is too thin there is no body in my hair. I started washing my hair with Nioxin and i could immediately feel the change in the body of the hair it got a bit more than it usually is.

I have been using it for a few days now and i am pleased to say that it has definately lifted the body in my haiar, i did not even have to wait for a month to see the change, because i already felt and saw the change in body of my hair. i have been struggling a lot to get a product that could do this for me, i am very pleased and i will definately recommend it to all the ladies out there who have the same problem as i do.

I found this instructions on how to wash ones hair, really helpful and Thought I would add it to my review of this treatment, as it could really help one when washing one`s hair. Hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.

Start by wetting your hair under the shower or by dipping your head in the bathwater.
Squeeze a blob of shampoo into the palm of your hand and apply to your hair.
Apply a little more water, lather up and massage. To give yourself a feeling of well-being, concentrate on certain areas: apply pressure to the sides of your head and your crown with your fingertips and work downward to the nape of your neck to activate your microcirculation. Rinse and add just a drop more shampoo for a second wash.
Rinse again thoroughly in hot and then lukewarm water, until your hair makes a squeaky noise when you rub it between your fingers!
Finish with a blast of cold water to close your follicles and add shine.

Conditioner: Should be applied for 3-5 minutes then rinsed. Use as much is required for your specific hair.

Shampoo/Cleanser: After having washed my hair four times, with this product in a space of two weeks, I found the following. The shampoo/cleanser seems heavier than the conditioner/revitaliser. I have raved about this before, the lovely product scent which leans towards a minty smell. At first the product seem to make my hair feel and seem dry. One thing the shampoo does do, is strip my hair and scalp of all excess products and oils, this is excellent since I’m always using hair food/moisturisers and hair spray to hold my hairstyles in place. Because I make use of so much hair products I think this adds to my hair issue of having slight dandruff flakes as a result of product build-up.

Conditioner/Revitalilzer: The Nioxin System 5 Conditioner, seems very lighter than the Shampoo does, I don’t know if the case with Nioxin Systems 1-4 or 6, but I find this to be the result of System 6. This worried me, because since my hair turned out stripped of all oils and products, I felt a good conditioner would be required in order to treat my hair in the sense and put all the necessary oils, and good things back into my hair and scalp to rebuild my hair. I ended up covering my head of hair, but quite a hefty amount of conditioner each time I was done shampooing it.

Scalp Treatment Spray: Using this spray the first time felt weird. As instructed I sprayed the scalp Treatment Spray on my scalp, after having washed and conditioned my hair. Almost immediately I could feel a tingling sensation and I thought I had done something wrong. After having done this twice, I sort of got used to it and left the treatment spray on my scalp for absorption purposes. The scalp treatment spray includes peppermint oil, to encourage growth and thickness, which I found delightful, since I am suffering from hair breakage to a result where I have almost completely given up on using hair products to correct this issue.

However, I do feel the products takes some time of getting used to, and it’s not for the impatient user who want to see immediate results. As with all good things, the main ingredient is Time. ;-)
Just grateful to have received this generous size Treatment pack.
I will continue using the products for the next 2-3 weeks and Ill post pictures as I go along. Results should start to show soon!! Excited ;-)

Nioxin aims to increase hair growth and also aims to improve the hair`s actual quality by making it thicker and hence stronger in the process. Ive washed my hair with a Heat Defense Shampoo and then left conditioner on for +/- 10-15 minutes, this is my usual routine (Heat defense products are used, because I straighten my hair right after ive dried it with the hairdryer). The results: Hair full of split ends, absolutely no growth and the styling only lasts for two days then the volume is gone, and im left with hair thats flat. Pictures to follow!:-(

I really hope Nioxin can solve my hair problems, cant wait to see some results! ;-)
