Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara

I have purchased this about 3 or 4 times and I have to say it's an absolute favorite.
Without a doubt this product gives you lengthened and defined lashes .
The mascara is highly pigmented giving a gorgeous rich black finish to your lashes.

I love the fact that it is long lasting and doesn't leave a dried feeling on your lashes and does not become clumpy either.

If you are looking for a lengthening and volumnising mascara then do not purchase this one. The wand is too short and stumpy to achieve the look you want and you need to coat it A LOT of times before seeing a real difference :/

This is simply the best mascara I've ever come across. It gives you amazing flawless lashes within minutes. It increases lashes length drastically without making lashes looking fake and clumpy or thick. I really like the fact that this product doesn't weigh down my lashes or clump which is really good. I also noticed that the product doesn't flake and last really long, from early hours in the morning till late in the afternoon. Plus the mascara can be removed easily with eye make up remover, so no panda eyes for you!

I am eternally on the hunt for amazing mascara and Maybelline has yet to disappoint. The Falsies Flared Volum' Express mascara is the ideal inexpensive make-up bag must. With the uniquely shaped brush you are able to lift and lengthen your lashes with the volum'express formula fills out your lashes,making it great for both day time and evening make-up looks. Maybelline calls this the “spoon curler” brush. The directions suggest first applying the mascara with the curved side, then again with the flat side from root to tip to finish with a flared effect. This mascara works better when you DO NOT wiggle the wand back and forth in a zig-zag motion when applying, as it may result in clumping instead of well-defined groups. I tried it both ways, and the straight up with the wand while you coat the lashes method gives the flared look. I WOULD NOT, however recomend this to a person who does not have many lashes as when trying to achieve the flared look your lashes may clump together.

I really like this mascara. The first thing you notice is the angled wand which curves to the shape of the eye. It feels so light as well when you apply it. I noticed with just one lick my eyelashes were extended, thicker with no clumps in sight. I love how each eyelash was separate and not clumped together.

I'm not sure I would say it looks like false eyelashes but it certainly has the closest effect compared to any other other mascara's I've used which promise the same thing. It lasted the whole day without any smudging or falling bits. My fave part is the light feeling when you put this on, it's hard to describe, but the wand feels lighter and it feels like you don't have mascara on.

I would definitely recommend this.

This mascara is my absolute new favourite! I have to admit that you need to apply a good 3 layers of mascara to get the false eyelash look, but it is so worhit. It lengthens like you can't believe, but you have to be thorrough and work it from root to tip to get the effect. I love this product, but have to admit that it seems to have run empty rather fast. I might try the Colossal Mascara next...? Soon my verdict will be out on who the winner is.

A winner from Maybelline

I am totally in love with this mascara! I find that my lashes are infinitely longer, thicker and have a nice curl to them, no raccoon eyes, no flakes on my face and no clumpiness if applied with care. Lovely intense, glossy colour and the curl lasts all day!

Needing a new mascara I shopped around extensively and decided to give this one a try.

I bought this product in Black for R100 at Edgars. The mascara comes with a curved "spoon brush" which has conventional bristles. One side of the brush is big like Maybellines Colossal Volum' and the other side has much shorter bristles. The formula is creamy in texture and not too wet. The instructions say to use the spoon shaped side of the brush against your lashes to apply the product and the bigger side to comb and separate the lashes.

This mascara gives me a lot of volume and length without feeling heavy and weighing down my lashes. The brush really fans out the lashes giving a feathers look. With one coat I get great volume but two coats can start to clump a little as the fibres in the formula build up further increasing the volume. I also find that too many coats can cause flaking towards the end of the day but its not very noticeable. Its also does not give as much definition as Max Factor's False Lash Effect mascara but definitely wins on volume and length.

My lashes look amazing with this mascara on. Its really the best mascara I have tried. The only thing that bothers me is the magazine advertisement for this mascara. The model is wearing false eyelashes, they even say so in the small print. How does that promote the product if its meant to replace/negate the need for false eyelashes?
