Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Cat Eye Mascara

I use three mascaras...might be weird for some but it works for me. Cat eyes is part of my everyday beauty routine. It definitely adds volume and length. No clumping. If you're not use to using the style brush it might take a bit to get use to but once you have the niche, it's easy peasy lemon squeezy! Love it!

I am such a fan of this mascara! I have just bought it and find that it ticks all my mascara boxes: - elongates, thickens, doesn't clump or smudge and washes off easily. I see some of the reviews of this mascara were poor, but honestly I struggle with mascaras and this one works for me. No raccoon eyes or bits of black dirt on my cheeks. I don't see that it gives my eyes that cat eye effect, but then I don't have that shaped eye that lends itself to that. I just love that my lashes look like they are actually there!!! A big thumbs up from me!

Say hello to the only mascara you’ll ever need. Cat eyes. I’ve never really committed to one brand of mascara before, I’ve spent the last few years chopping and changing whenever one runs out. Last year, my lovely friend Michelle brought me back this mascara from London. I’d never even heard of it before, it wasn’t available in SA yet, and I was a skeptic. After one use I was hooked! I’ve never looked back. It’s now available in South Africa, and I’ve been buying it from Clicks. I’m experiencing such amazing results from this brand and the clever brush that I just can’t let myself buy any other mascara.

I have always used Maybelline Mascara as its one of the few ranges I never get eye irritation from.I have been using the Define-a-lash but often cant find a non waterproof so this time I decided to try the Colassal Volume Cat eyes and I am very disappointed.
Yes the brush is great due to its shape but I find that it does very little for lash definition or length and seem to find I'm applying 2 -3 coats to get that desired effect and due to the shape I often find ity lands on my lid as I do not have extremely long lashes. As for the cat eye effect well I have to be honest I don't think it gives that look at all in fact a few people have commented that my eyes are looking a bit awkward in shape lately and they seem to have an appearance of being overly wide as though Im in shock.
The upside of this mascara is the consistency and does not clump lashes even after 3 coats.
I definitely will not purchase this again and will stick to my Define a Lash.

I am a huge fan of Maybelline Mascaras and always test out each new offering for myself! The Colossal Volume Espress Cat Eyes was no exception.

Unfortunately I was disappointed! While the shape of the brush definitely helps with creating sweepy cat-eye-shaped lashes, it does so at the expense of volume. While the Maybelline Colossal Volume 100% Black offers amazingly thick, stand out lashes, the Cat Eyes version leaves them looking just better than average.

I personally use both now for a fantastic duo - sweepy cat-eye-shape and long, thick and lucious.

I’ve been using this mascara for the past few weeks and one of the things I really love about this mascara is the brush. It is a curved shape brush that makes applying mascara on lashes really easy (even lashes that aren’t too long). The formula is of a good consistency; it isn’t too runny or thick and applies easily on the lashes. What is great about this mascara is that it gives your lashes great definition and adds length to the lashes. It doesn’t clump at all no matter how many coats you apply but it isn’t as volumising as I would have liked. However, because the consistency of the mascara is light, it is super buildable.

In my opinion, this is great mascara for ladies who already have medium to long lashes that are already curly and is looking for a clean, well-defined lash look. This mascara definitely added length, but does little to hold curls (for ladies like me who have straight lashes). If you have straight lashes like me, you will definitely need the help of a lash curler to give those lashes some curves.

Overall, this is a great mascara for ladies looking to give lashes great definition and extra length. This mascara retails for around R99, depending on the drug store.
