Got this in a past Rubybox and I was very very reluctant to try this. Im a huge fan of liquid liners and Kohl liners so the felt tip seemed a bit strange to me. To my wonderful surprise, this felt tip exceeded my expectations. The felt tip was great to use and so easy to apply. It just glides on your lids and as long as you have a relatively steady hand, you good to go in one clean swipe.

It lasted quite a while before it got dry. It was also easy to remove which is a great thing at night. There are a few things that put me off repurchasing though, It smudges quite a bit and also did not last the entire day because of this. So until they fix this, I wont buy this instore. But it was great to apply!

received this in a Rubybox. I have never been a fan of felt-tip eyeliner pens before as I found that the colour did not go on intensely enough and all the ones I have tried in the past have dried out very quickly. However, I can honestly say so far that this is the best liquid liner that I have ever used! This is so perfect for doing a cat-eye look (which I do pretty much every day), it goes on completely evenly and the fine tip allows for accurate and complete control, and it lasts all day long for me, no hint of smudging or fading. I am just hoping that this pen continues to impress and doesn’t dry up and fail me as quickly as my previous ones have. If so then this will undoubtedly become a firm faithful favourite!

I love liquid liner! Normal liner, small cat-eye effects, big wings, the lot. After struggling with brush-type applicators, I have found that felt-tip brushes give you a lot more control, so I was interested in trying this product. The pen's tip was a bit longer that I am used to, so it took a bit of getting re-accustomed to, but once I got the hang of it, I was impressed at how easy it was to use! The tip is very fine, so you can easily get close to the lashline and the inner corner of your upper eyelid. It draws smoothly and easily without drying out - it's almost like you're using a normal koki pen! Once on, the eyeliner lasted fairly well, before slowly smudging away. I got a work day's wear out, or an evening/night, but not both. The current formulation is not waterproof. When that comes out, I'll be repurchasing!

I recieved this eyeliner in my Ruby box. I love the softness of the 'pencil' itself. However..... It took me 2 days to completely take the eyeliner off. I used makeup remover, face wash and the next morning when I awoke, my eyes were black every where. So yes, I'd say this is cool for creating a smokey eye, or even fine lines... But getting it off is a definite mission.

So the good news: Maybelline’s claim that this eyeliner lasts for 16 hours is completely true. I applied a line on my top and bottom lash lines one morning before work (at 6.30am), returning home at 10pm at night and the lines had not budged a millimetre, all without any touch ups during the day. There was even a time I burst into tears (no need to be concerned, it was a good surprise) and the liner did not smudge. Added to this the creamy crayon tip allows it to glide on easily, no pulling or stretching of the lid required. It’s also very easy to adjust and precisely apply either a thick or thin line depending on whether you are going for a subtle or dramatic look, with the colour a deeply pigmented black, not grey or dark blue like some other “black” liners I’ve used. However if you want to smudge the line, best you do it immediately after applying because once the liner sets you will not be able to.

Then the bad news: Maybelline’s claim that this eyeliner lasts for 16 hours is completely true. Yes, the biggest selling point of this eyeliner is in my opinion also a disadvantage. It took me an age to remove it from my lids with eye makeup remover and there were still traces left after I showered giving me slight raccoon eyes. The tip blunts really quickly because it’s so soft, so sharpening is something you will have to do often but gently - and it can be sharpened despite the plastic looking exterior.

I received this eyeliner in ultra black, but it’s available in grey for those with lighter skin tones if the black proves too dark.

Overall I’d recommend this as a good buy, as long as you remember to use a good eye makeup remover after use.

When this launched months ago I really wanted to get my hands on this as I'm a total eyeliner gal. It has a fine tip pen kinda like a koki so no brush. Creating a cat eye look has never been easier. I was amazed at how easy it is to use and thought "where have you been my entire life"!!!

Highs: Easy to use, virtually smudge proof and idiot proof.

Lows: Does not last the entire day. I was so disappointed while using this product. As come 4pm its melted away and looks faded. I generally love Maybelline products and use one of their foundations on a daily basis so this has been a huge let down. Their claim on 12 hour wear is quite an exaggeration.

So overall, I love how easy to use this is but it lacks longevity and touch ups are necessary.
