I've been in the market for a really good concealer, so I always search around and try new ones that look promising. I purchased the Max Factor MASTERTOUCH Under-eye concealer in FAIR 306 (because at the time, they had nothing lighter, but I would have preferred something lighter). The product comes in a pen shaped applicator, where you twist the bottom of the pen to allow product to come through at the top through a spongy doe foot applicator. The shape of the spongy applicator was really nice, as it allowed you to get in close to the areas around your eyes and nose, or even around blemishes. I'm not too sure how hygienic a sponge applicator can be in the long run, but they seem to still make them, so I'm sure they are fine.
When I purchased this concealer, it cost me around R169.99 at Clicks (also available at Dischem) and I am thoroughly disappointed. For the price I paid, I expected higher coverage, but the coverage was incredibly weak, which means you had to keep building up on it, and this is probably the reason the product didn't last very long. Another annoying aspect of the packaging was that you couldn't really control the amount of product that came out, you had to rely on the twisting of the base to get the product out, which often meant there was more than you needed.
I found that it finished really fast, which I haven't really had with other concealers. I also found out that they are not cruelty-free, so that sucked. The search continues for a good concealer!

Very nifty packaging with its clicking pen with a sponge tip applicator. In theory all good but I didn’t like it for a few reasons. I had to click and turn a million times for the product to eventually come out and when it did it gulped out, no stopping it! After I got the hang of it I found it difficult to control. Also, once the sponge is saturated with product it becomes hard and didn’t feel comfortable on my under-eye area which defeats the purpose of the applicator. I ended up taking a soft brush (MAC 224) to take the concealer off the pen to blend on the eye area. It dried in my fine lines quite badly and didn’t give much coverage. I’m not convinced, there are too few shades to choose from and the colour does change after some time.
