Mattifying Compact Powder 60 True Mahogany

Lets take a minute to talk about the Essence Mattifying Compact Powder, i am in the shade 50 True Caramel, it surprisingly does the work of "mattifying" my face and gives it a smooth, flawless finish. My face is really oily especially now that we in summer, so I was wondering if this compact powder would help me to control the oil,  and it did! The effect lasted for a good 4 to 5 hours on my face. It doesn’t make my face look chalky or cakey like other powders i have tried out. This finely milled powder is definitely light on the skin almost so that it feels like i am not wearing any makeup. The price is also appealing it retails for R70 and you can pick one up for yourself at Dischem or Clicks stores.

This is way too dark for my skin tone so I actually use this as a bronzer/contour. It is super pigmented so only a little is needed. I find that it applies quite patchy over liquid foundation so I suggest setting the foundation before. The colour does fade throughout the day (not drastically) but for the price, I think it's a great product.

For a great natural make-up free day i would apply this after i have applied my BB cream. I love that it really brings everything together - and it really is better than putting on a heavy duty foundation. So when summer comes, its perfect for a light au naturel feeling, i just absolutely love it!
