Skin care for the silly season is nearly upon us with December just around the corner and the excitement of the beautiful summer holidays is building up daily. This realisation prompted me to reflect on the year that has so quickly passed and all the promises and goals I conjured up but never came around to doing. In repentance I have vowed to take some time out for myself in November to include beauty regiments that I usually would never have the patience for or felt guilty about splurging on. So in celebration of my resolution I am renaming November to MEvembor, the month for me and all about me, everybody deserves to treat themselves in MEvembor.
First on my list is a well deserved Mary Cohr peel and lift facial at my favourite haven Dante. Just stepping into the magnificent doors of Dante you are aware of the treats that you are about to bestow upon your worthy self. The atmosphere is unlike any other and is an absolute treat for the senses with its elegant decor, friendly staff and gorgeous aromas your body automatically goes into relax mode. The facial that I have chosen to do is the Mary Cohr facial that is designed to brighten the complexion and minimise pigmentation marks, the treatment also incorporates the exfoliating and moisturising effects of AHA’s to leave the skin smooth, renewed and revitalised. This is exactly what I needed to bring my skin to life again.
The facial takes around an hour to complete and consists of five different applications.
The first application consisted of a gentle cleansing of my neck, face and décolleté. This was then followed by an exfoliation gel that contained fruit acids that is left to work on the skin for between 5 to 9 minutes depending on the thickness of the skin. The gel almost gives you a tingling feeling all over your face due to the regenerative properties and the inclusion of fruit acids mainly vitamin C. The gel was then gently removed as well as a layer of dead skin to make way for skin renewal. The regenerating serum was then massaged in to my skin by my therapist’s therapeutic hands to neutralise the exfoliating gel and stimulate cellular regeneration. My favourite part of this incredibly relaxing and enjoyable facial was the application of the cryo-elastic mask with vitamin C that was applied to my face and left on for around 10 minutes, the mask felt amazing and refreshing and I could feel the benefits already! The mask is gently peeled off and a Mary Cohr moisturiser was applied all over my now new radiant skin.
This sumptuous treatment left my skin feeling soft and looking radiant, revitalised and renewed. I could really notice the difference after one treatment so I was delighted even thinking of the benefits that my skin could achieve after a few treatments. I highly recommend this treatment if like me you skin is suffering from “drabness “ and has become the fatality of your year’s sins and you need that extra bit of TLC to bring it back to its dazzling bright youthful self again. The Mary Cohr skin care peel and lift facial is also a brilliant treat to give yourself before an important event or night out to make you feel that extra bit of extraordinary.
