Mandy's Microwavable Peel-off Hot-wax for Legs and body
Hot
February 24, 2011
MICROWAVEABLE HOT WAX - 300G: For legs and body This microwaveable peel-off hot wax is a quick and effective means of removing short, coarse hair and therefore perfect for leg, underarm and bikini areas. As the wax surrounds each hair, the warmth of the wax opens the pores and allows for the wax to be gently peeled off, removing the entire hair and root.(According to Leechem.co.za) The wax is thicker than film wax, its a honey colour and comes in a flat plastic tray-type container. Its much cheaper than the film wax in the Mandys range.

Utterly disappointing. I followed every instruction carefully and properly only to be further let down. To begin, I read everything crystal clear and decided to stove heat it like it recommended on the box. This lead to the bottom half only melting and the top half remaining solid. Well after like 15 minutes of prodding and mixing it more or less came to the consistency it was meant to. Thank god i tested it out on a small piece of skin on my hand. It left the skin irritated and a rash formed not long after which was very uncomfortable. Nevertheless i decided to try it out further on my legs and it only lead to a messy, sticky and uncomfortable tacky disaster. The wax wasnt peeling off it was cracking painfully and breaking of smaller pieces, it didnt even remove any stand of hair. And to top it off it started hardening every 10 minutes and I had to heat it over and over again until i got fed up. Only resuly: taking the whole thing and throwing it in the rubbish where it belonged. Do not recommend Mandys hot wax at all. Complete disaster.

This was by far the worst method of hair removal I have ever used!
It was extremely painful and also very messy and laborious! I broke out in a rash which lasted days
I recommend going to a professional when wanting to wax. Especially if you have sensitive skin.

This for me was a very painful experience the first time i did it .
I must agree with the rest of the BB'S that reviewed this . It is very messy and difficult to use.
It only works effectively if your hair is quite long . It is extremely ineffective on short hair .
The product cools way too quickly because of the type of packaging which leaves you running back and forth to kitchen ....

I wouldn't repurchase this wax, as it was far too messy for my liking, and it didn't do a great job in removing hairs. I'd prefer to buy the strips with wax on them already.

I purchased this a few days ago, tried so many times to wax my underarms and not a single hair came out and it took forever to heat up to a fair consistency. will never buy again! However their wax strips are far more effective!

So after i could not get an appointment at my beautition, i decided to purchase this Mandy microwave waxing kit.
Well what a waste of money, time and perfectly good plate.
i followed instructions to the T. no hair came out. not one little strand.
putting the used pieces on the plate i used to warm it in the microwave with, everything got stuck (maybe not the best idea) i ended throwing that away too.
but i must say i did try the other Mady's products (wax strips) and they work perfectly, so well in fact, that i just do my own waxes now. pain free and for only +- R50 :)

I needed to wax but couldn't get an appointment time that suited me at a spa that I trusted. So I popped down to Clicks and browsed thier wax material selections.
I liked the idea odf a hot wax you heat up in the microwave and then just peal off - not silly clothe strips,etc...
It was the same pricemore or less as the strips but you got a whole tray. So I bought it and left the shop feeling tha got a great deal.........Wow was I wrong!
That evening, I followed the instructions ( when it comes to beauty products - always read instructions and precautions ), tested the product and then waited a day to see if there was a reaction.
Nothing showed up, so two days later I 'prepped' and went to work.
Firstly it didn't remove everything and left a huge mess, then it stung alot more than a usual hot wax would and left nice red blotches between the hair it didn't remove.
Lets just say I looked like a spotted cheeter. Not amuasing! I have used many other companies hot wax products beore and never had issues.

Where do i start? Ok lets start at the point of purchase. I always read a product packaging thoroughly before purchase. The packaging of the product clearly states that it is ideal for short, course hair, perfect for underarms and bikini area.
Unfortunately i have genes that dictate that i will forever be plagued by thick hair on my legs and thick course hair for my underarms and bikini area, i cant afford laser(yet), so waxing is the next best thing, i find, for me.
Back to the point, so according to the promises of on the packaging i choose the product and was very pleased with the price(R49.95).
Excited to remove all my furry friends(my hair), i heat my wax, thoroughly remove access oil and dirt off my legs and apply talc because of the excess humidity of the area in which i reside.
I apply the wax, and when it came the wax, only half of the hair was removed-and yes i did hold my skin taunt. Apart of that, the wax tended to crack while pulling to remove the hair and break off.
i was left with sporadic areas of hair on my legs and was so glad that i did not try it on my bikini and underarms areas(i can only imagine the disaster that would have struck if that had happened).
i redid the areas that were not properly 'cleaned' and i used the whole 300G wax for two half legs for the whole procedure, after i realized that my how sore my skin became i stopped and waited three days and shaved the remainder of the hair off.
