Our fourth and final MAC Viva Glam Live Chat begun as heartily as ever. Shannon Holcroft, BB’s quirky Community Manager divulged that she spent her pretty pennies on MAC’s online store over the weekend. In fact, as we began conversing, the courier carrying her precious purchases had arrived!
Interestingly enough, the inspiration behind Shannon purchasing her MAC Mineralise Moisture Foundation (R345) was the result of having attended Jackie Burger’s Salon 58 ‘Bare’ Soiree where Waterfront-based MAC makeup artist Saskia had been demonstrating the magic powers of this super lustrous foundation.
Shannon also shared her online shopping experience in the video below:
Loyal BB Insider Melissa de la Croix joined us once again but voiced her concerns about ordering a foundation online,
“That foundation sounds amazing. I’m tempted to try a MAC foundation but I’m actually too scared! What if I order it online and I don’t like it?”
To which Shannon responded,
“The MAC colour system makes things simple. They categorise their shades by warm and cool undertones. I’m cool under-toned and pretty pale, so I’m NC20. The palest is NC15/NW15 (warm undertones).
We also discussed the MAC Warm Neutrals 15 Eye Shadow Palette (R1200) that isn’t available for purchase online but is at selected MAC stores.
BB’s Junior Beauty Editor, Cynthia Gwebu, also shared her must-have lipstick neutrals – Taupe, Honey Love and Please Me (R195). She also recommended the MAC Studio Finish Concealer (R240) to a BB Insider who queried a MAC concealer suited best suited for oily skin.
And of course, no MAC Live Chat is complete without paying homage to our reason for congregating – MAC Viva Glam. To a curious Live Chat attendee, we explained the brands charitable campaign,
“Viva Glam is a campaign founded by MAC Cosmetics. They will partner up with a celebrity with whom they will create a Limited Edition collection. All profits go to the MAC AIDS Fund.”
BB’s, we hope you’ve enjoyed these chats and we plan on doing more soon!
