MAC Studio Fix Foundation

This is the perfect coverage for me. It's not too light and not to heavy. I prefer to apply it with a brush than the sponge that it comes with. It also lasts very long as I only apply it in the morning and don't have to touch up all day. Works great with the Mac facial mist/spray. But I sometimes use baby powder after applying which I find sets it in well too. I alternate between this and the liquid, this is however much quicker to apply than the liquid foundation from MAC. I'm NC45 and it's sometimes hard to get stock of this as it's quite a popular shade it seems.

This is my holy grail powder. I use this to set my foundation in place it gives me such a flawless look . Another great thing about this foundation is it can be used on its own.

I use this dry with just a powder brush, or with some fix+ spray and a buffing brush - it provides light to medium coverage. However, it can be a bit drying for some skin types and for the price point, I tend to shy away from it. I have used it as a setting powder a few times but I found that many drugstore products can be used to achieve the same finish. once again, the service that I receive in store weighs heavily on my willingness to repurchase.

This is hands down the best powder I have ever used. It keeps my make up matte the WHOLE day, without having to reapply it. I typically don't really like a lot of powders as they end up making my face look chalky, but this one doesn't. I don't like using the applicator sponge it comes with, as I find it makes your make up look a bit 'cakey'. But if you use a big powder brush it goes on, and stays on like a dream.

This truly is the best face powder you'll ever use! It is however a bit pricey but you pay for quality. It keeps your skin shine and oil free for hours on end! This is definitely something every woman needs in her handbag! Love it!

Personally I love this product. It's very gentle on the skin and lasts for the duration of the day. If I'm going out for the evening and don't feel like re-doing my makeup, I just put some of this pressed powder on my T-zone to freshen up my look and I'm good to go. Although it's pricey I wear makeup everyday and I can almost use one for a whole year - so it gives you bang for your buck. I do find though like some below it can make your face a little oily. but that has more to do with my skin than the product itself.

It's not like some other powders that make your skin look flaky and dried out. It gives great coverage - especially if you use a primer beforehand!

My only advice is that when looking for a match, take lighting into consideration. MAC stores generally use white light, so the shade can sometimes differ from what it looked like when it was applied in store.

My favorite powder foundation, it takes away the shine in the skin when reapplied during the day. It doesnt make my face feel dry and I love my colour.
Can take it anywhere. If I'm late or feel like going for a natural look, I just use it, it doesnt cover all my spots but it makes my skin look beautiful.

I have always struggled to find the correct foundation colour for my skin tone- I would be very fair in winter and brown considerably in summer, so I was always having to buy new a new foundation for different seasons...until I stumbled upon this powder foundation! It matches my skin tone perfectly and I no longer have to worry about standing out like a sore thumb! I am able to blend it perfectly with my liquid foundation and it doesn't give that caked looked either! Though a little pricey, it is MAC after all and 100% worth it! Its a definite must from me.

I love this product! It really does save me a lot of time and effort. It applies quickly and evenly, provides amazing coverage and it does not look cakey. It is a great product for oily skin, which is something that I am always on the hunt for. Will definitely repurchase.

Used on its own or over foundation, this pressed powder provides proper coverage. I don't find a need to use foundation when I have this on. It provides me with a semi airbrushed look leaving my skin looking flawless.

I find it blends best with a powder brush even though it does come with a sponge. Using the brush makes it look less cakey. I do not feel the need to layer it so I use very small quantities at a time, making it last longer.

It lasts just over 8 hours but you might need a couple of touch ups on the warmer days.

A whooping five stars from me! I love Mac and this compact foundation plus powder is just amazing! Extremely handy, flawless and blends well with skin. Slightly on the pricey side but well worth every rand spent. My skin absolutely glows every time I apply this. I have now resorted to keeping it for special occasions because its if I use it every day, I will go off budget. Lol.

I was going to have tons of pictures taken and was not happy with the appearance of my skin as I had experienced a bout of adult acne. It was not pleasant but cleared up rather quickly although I was left with really dark marks which added to my image issues. This led me to a MAC counter where I had my skin tone matched. I ended up being a NC45. This product retails for R 340 for 15 grams at a MAC store. The outer packaging is a basic black box with the company logo and quantity on the top and the ingredients on the back of the box. The top of the box has the shade marked on it which is helpful. The compact itself is black in colour and is branded. It opens with a push of a button. Once opened you will see a mirror and a compacted area of powder. There is also a powder puff type of thing located just underneath the compacted powder. To access it simply lift up the compact as it has a small ledge built for this. However I find applying it with a kabuki brush or any flat topped powder brush is easier and gives a better coverage. This product is build-able and I prefer it to liquid foundation as it saves steps and cost. It covered my acne marks with ease and did not make me look two toned as many other powders have. I recommend this product as it lasts around 8 hours even in humid conditions.

The first powder foundation that i have tried and i do not regret it. It provides medium coverage, however it is buildable. It is pricey but it does last a very long time. Use it over a bb cream over or foundation for a perfect finish or alone for a more natural look.

the powder is great it doesn't make face feel oily. it has great coverage. using with a brush is much better than using with an applicator. i use that with my concealer after my daily beauty regime and it looks great.

I like how versatile this powder is. You can wear it on its own, after your moisturizer and sunscreen of course, with a BB cream or with foundation if you are looking for full coverage. I wear it with my Clinique superprimer colour correct in deeper skins and it looks amazing. Have tried it with foundation as a powder and I cannot complain. It does come with a sponge applicator but I would suggest using a brush rather than the sponge. For me I have found better results with a brush, but its totally up to what one is comfortable with. It's not long-wearing though so you have to re-apply and I have found that in the winter months it does not go on as nicely as it does in summer. I really love this product. It has found a spot in my top makeup have-to-have list.

This is a great foundation for my combination to oily skin. It provides me with sheer to full coverage depending on what I need, I just add extra layers. It gives me a matte airbrushed look instead of the chalky powdered look that is characteristic of powder foundations. And it lasts the whole day without leaving me shiny at the end of the day. Well worth the price!

I purchased this in NC43.5, i find that it gives a smooth airbrushed finish whether i use it on its own or over my foundation. I find it to be quiet heavy though and would not wear it during the day time, this is perfect for night or if you are looking for a flawless full coverage. It has its pros and cons, but not my personal favourite, but it is definitely something i would reach for in an emergency!
