MAC Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder

As a make-up artist, I mainly worked in the film/TV industry, this powder was an essential! It sets the make-up really well and gives it a lasting finish. I would apply it onto the forehead with a powder puff to tone down "hot spots/shiny spots" and dust it on with a brush to the rest of the face. It feels really silky on the skin and goes well with most skin colours.

Although I really enjoy this product - it is quite pricey for the amount that you get. It does last me a really long time though as I mainly use it to set my under eye.

This product blurs pores like some kind of voodoo, thus providing a kind of airbrushed finish which is awesome! The only thing is that it does not control oil very well.

It is great for touching up though as it does not leave a powdery finish or another thick layer on the skin.

I would really like to try the RCMA powder next to compare the two.

At R320 this little tub of pure awesomeness is a one of those buys that you REALLY need to think about. I would never usually spend so many on ANY piece of make-up but after receiving a voucher I purchashed this as the MAC consultant said that if I was to buy one product in the entire store, this should be it.

This white "translucent" powder literally disappears on your skin as you buff it in and it leaves your face looking mattified and supple. I used to apply a coloured setting powder after my foundation routine but this has replaced that 100%. For some odd reason your skin feels super soft afterwards!
Once again it costs R320 which is CRAZY but you use a tiny tiny bit for every application and with everyday use I can see this tub lasting me maybe an entire year? (Yes I know make-up has a shelf life etc etc).

It can be used on any skin type and colour and it is part of the Prep + Prime range.

This products saves you money and makes you look great for longer!

During my time at MAC this product was so often out of stock, it was like a rare jewel as ladies could instantly see the change in their skins appearance as I tested on there skin - either with or without foundation.

I find it is also the best to set CONCEALER under the eyes or to lightly dust on greasy eyelids.
It is tricky to keep concealer on without setting it as well as worrying if the powder colour is correct - and if your not a girl who needs to powder daily (as I don't), its a lovely powder to have to dust with a small fluffy brush under your eyes to keep your concealer from creasing and fading during the day/night.

Its not a powder that dehydrates the skin, and its not 100% matt, so it takes away your shine in a natural (quite magical) way !


If I ever wanted to look instantly 'AIR BRUSHED' - I didn't pile on more foundation to look flawless - this is the product I went for.... and the one product in my personal kit that I wont share!! :)
