I recently picked up this product in the shade light plus and I love that it has a yellow undertone, but it borders on neutral.
This powder is very lightweight and does not add much coverage, but it sets your foundation beautifully. The finish is a healthy luminous all-over glow.
It does not really control oil very well and it kicks off a lot of product. I am curious to see how long it will last me, because this is one of MAC's more expensive powders.
If you have normal to dry skin, you will enjoy this product a lot. If you have combo to oily skin like me, you will probably not enjoy it as much.
I really like the finish and feel of this powder, so I really don't mind blotting 1 / 2 times more than usual.
I got given this as a gift and I really really love it! Such a stunning golden, champagne highlight. Suitable for light to medium/dark skin tones! I have used this on many different people and it suited everyone. It is very expensive which is the reason why I wouldn't repurchase. I do find that it is a bit powdery/glittery but if you tap the excess off the brush it is all good and you aren't left with too much!
After searching and failing for much of last year to get the Soft and Gentle due to it being in HUGE demand and always being sold out, I was able to finally get this product.
The price was a bit steep - but then you dont skimp on your face.
I use it as a highlighter or on its own as a blush and it works amazingly.
On lazy or rushed days when I don't have enough time to apply BB cream, I would sweep this over my face for coverage. I'd say that two strokes from the pot is enough for my whole face because I like to keep my look very natural.
The nice thing about this powder is that it's so easy to build up to the amount of coverage you want without any caking.
It provides a matte finish so I like to give my face a final spritz with Fix + or MAC's charged water so that it looks more dewy than dry.
I purchased the Studio Sculpt NW43 recently (which is my new perfect MAC find) and the SA advised me to match it with a MSF Natural in Dark since I wanted a dewy finish that wouldn't look too oily/cakey. I should mention that I had previously used the Studio Fix Pressed powder in NC45 which seem to work quite well but I have acne breakouts along my jawline so I'm trying to go for a more natural product so as not to overly stress my skin. Unfortunately the Dark shade of the MSF is too dark and makes me look like I have a really bad spray tan. :( I'm not sure if this is due to oxidation of the product? Does anyone know of a shade that might be a better match or should I rather stick to my SF powder?
This is an awesome product! I have oily skin and it just works so well! my skin looks flawless and I would recommend it for any one! I use it over my mac base , but on some days when I don't feel like putting base on I just wear this powder and it still looks so nice on my skin! its a little pricey but it lasts nearly 2 months so worth a buy! :)
Love this product. I have a very oily skin and this skin finish works wonders with my skin. It can also double up as a bronzer. It leaves my skin looking flawless and anything but shiny! Worth a shot!
The repackaged MAC mineralize skin finish natural was finally launched today in Mzansi,
After almost two months of calling, (some If people may call it harassing) searching and researching I got the call at 5.36pm exactly from the manager of the MAC in Melrose Arch to say the skinfinish naturals that had been out of stock had arrived. She told me she’d keep it aside for me. But I couldn’t wait, I called the Sandton City FFS and asked if they had received the new shades and they confirmed they had. As soon as my husband got home, I asked him to get them for me and while he was cold and starving, he obliged and got them.
I use the MSFN in medium dark and while it works great, I was dying to try the new shade in Medium Tan because I do have a yellow undertone and wanted to give the new shade a shot.
Here’s the old packaging and the MSFN in Medium Dark. Black pan with a clear plastic ring on the lid so the product is visible.
The new packaging . . . The box it comes in is half matt and half glossy. That’s fab . . . the product packing got me amped! It looks sleek. The cover is a matte black with the MAC logo at the front. It has a magnetic open and close system and a mirror. The bottom half is a shinier plastic.
Now for the product.
Both shades were almost identical with the Medium Dark looking slightly lighter than Tan medium. While MAC says they only changed the packaging, there is definitely a difference in the formula.
The old MSF is not as finely milled as the new one. Both swatched smooth and easy, but there was more coverage and better pigmentation in the new product and the glitter was subtler.
Overall, I love the shade and the relaunched product. I think MAC gave their MSFNs a makeover and a little TLC because judging by products popularity, it definitely take care of MAC.
Amazing quality for a decent price! I really love this powder, I have used about 20 containers already and I will continue to use it! Keeps my skin oil free and looking fresh all day! Definitely in love!
I absolutely love the Mac range in general, their powder is a must have!! I’ve used it and have tried other powders but haven’t found a powder that can compete. It gives your make-up that “fresh” look and provides just enough cover. It’s perfect for those lazy days and never gives you that “to much make-up” look. Pop it in your bag for those quick touch ups on your night out and feel good the whole night.
The price is a little high but you will definitely get your money’s worth.
I looooooooooooooooooooove this powder, not so much the price. I bought mine in over a year ago and I have since been applying it over my liquid foundation for a nice glow and the perfect setting powder, or as a light weight powder all on its own on the days I dont feel like wearing makeup.
It gives a certain glow and keeps makeup in place and prevents my face from getting oily quickly! I havent found a powder that could rival this as yet!
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish is a luxurious domed face powder with minerals, slowly baked to provide a dimensional yet natural-matte finish. Provides perfect low coverage. Use to set and fix foundation or as a touch-up throughout the day.
I 100% stand behind this product. It works beautifully. It retails at Mac Stores for R280.00.
I use this powder to set my make-up and then compliment the look using Mac Fix Plus Spray.
Works for me every time! I had a really hard time trying to find a powder that provides great coverage without giving you that "I'm wearing WAY to much make-up look" but thank goodness I came across this powder!
It's truly been a God send for my makeup regimen :)
Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals are a great product and should be a welcomed addition to any woman's makeup stash. It imparts a velvety and natural sheen to the skin and can be worn on its own (for a VERY sheer coverage) or over your existing foundation. It does not look of feel powdery and you can purchase them in a variety of shades. you can use them for subtle highlighting and contouring of the skin.

As a performer I use this all the time before and during performances... it is a great way to touch up my foundation after a dance before I go back on stage to perform...
