MAC Fabulous Feline Collection - Burmese Beauty Eyeshadow Quad
HotI happened to be in Cavendish that morning (had a free period from lectures) and I walked passed MAC just as the ladies were putting up the poster for the new collection. I simply couldn’t resist not going in... So I gave in to temptation (please forgive me...) I told myself that I was just going to have a look-see, but I ended up buying 3 items. Sigh ~ it always gets me when they say limited edition only. I always fall for this... There were 3 main eyeshadow palettes: Burmese Beauty, Palace Pedigreed and Leopard Luxe. The one I purchased was Burmese Beauty because I felt that it would compliment my complexion and eye colour the best. I love love LOVE this palette, the colours are very pigmented and are all limited edition (see what I mean when I said I couldn’t help it?). On the bottom right, the colour is prized. It’s a pale yellow beige colour with a satin finish that is great as a highlight under the brows as well as the inner corners. The bottom left is Skintone 2, it’s a dirty gold with a frost finish. The top left is my favourite and a unique shadow that I have not seen anywhere! (Believe me, I’ve seen a lot of shadows, and this one is UNIQUE!) It’s called Burmese Beauty - a frosted brown green with a lustre finish but you have to see it in person to know what I mean. It’s a frosted brown with some iridescent green shimmers. When the artist tried it on me, the green shimmers complimented with the frosted brown brought out the hazel in my eyes. It’s definitely a MUST TRY. If you happen to go pass MAC, ask the artist if she’ll (or he) will try it on you. You can’t go wrong :). The final shadow on the top right is showstopper. It’s a deep blackened brown with a matte finish, great for the outer corners.
User reviews
With this collection, if you are a MAC addict like me, you’ll notice that the packaging for their quads have been improved to magnetic ones. Much easier to open, and it looks more sheek. I think it’s definitely worth it to buy the quads because you get much more value than buying separate shadows. I believe single shadows are R140 each, so if you calculate R140 x 4 = R560? If you buy the quads from this collection its R360, so that’s a saving of R200 that you could spend on something else. For me it’s definitely worth it.
