Kiehl’s High 5 Range

It’s day 28 of my Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin Challenge and I am really quite blown away. I knew the Kiehl’s products would be good, I just didn’t know they would be this good. I totally get the hype associated with this brand because after just 28 days, my skin feels healthy, hydrated and a whole lot happier than it was before all the Kiehl’s loving.

When Beauty Bulletin got in touch with me with the news that I was chosen to take part in the Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin Challenge, I was over the moon. My skin had been feeling super dry and old and really needed a bit of a boost in the right direction. The challenge was to use 5 Kiehl’s products for 28 days and report back on my experience. Well, I’ll tell you something, it’s been an absolute joy using these Kiehl’s skin products and here's why.

Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution (R700)
This little bottle of clear liquid is a combination of vitamin c, white birch and peony extract and fights dark spots. It smells delicious and feels light and fresh on the skin. While I don’t have a problem with dark spots, I used it anyway because it’s said to brighten the skin and work as a preventive. Just a few drops was enough to cover my whole face and neck.

Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing (R825)
This was one of the products I was most excited to try because of the whole “wrong side of 30, lines and wrinkles” concern! I love the consistency, it’s thick and luxurious and pretty much melts into my skin as I apply it. I’m not really sure if this bad boy has gotten rid of any of my fine lines but I really love the way my skin feels when I use this product. It feels a little tighter and glow-ier which is always good. A little goes a long way with this creamy concoction and I still have over half a bottle left to use.

Kiehls ChangeYourSkin Challenge - powerful strength line reducing

Ultra-Facial Moisturizing Cream (R355)
This has been a big ol’ tub of moisturizing magic for my skin. I noticed the difference after just 1 day of using the Ultra-facial moisturizing cream. My skin is no longer dry and sad, and as with all the Kiehls products, a little goes a long way. Only a small amount is needed to leave my skin feeling hydrated and fresh. One thing that has stood out for me with this cream is the lasting factor. My skin does not dry out after applying this in the morning. I can feel the moisture all day long.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo (R385)
This little champ surprised me. I haven’t used an eye cream before (shock-horror) so I wasn’t really expecting much… boy was I wrong. This creamy eye guy is amazing. The consistency is super thick and creamy, yet absorbs into the under-eye area almost immediately. I love how only a teeny-tiny drop manages to hydrate and brighten my under eye area.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate (R755)
Without a doubt, my number 1 superstar product. The midnight recovery concentrate is what skin care dreams are made of. I cannot fault it at all. Getting ready for bed is a whole new ball game thanks to this little bottle of magic. A few drops leaves my skin feeling relaxed, soft and pampered. I love it.

I have loved the Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin Challenge and look forward to my on-going journey to healthy and happy skin.

I was chosen to review 5 iconic Kiehl's products and I was over the moon. Already a huge fan of the brand I use the products on a regular basis.
I started my 28 day challenge on the 1st July after travelling for 15 days in a very wet Cape Town.
My skin was dry ,patchy and looked lined. For many reasons not enough sleep and water.
Starting the routine my skin is loooking my brighter and hydrated 28 days later.
Along with the eye cream,ultra facial cream ,midnight recovery concentrate (my fav) ,line reducing concentrate I have added my own Kiehl's Candular Face wash.
There is a noticeable difference on my face and I am loving the results.
So yes I did say #High5ToGreatSkin !

It’s day 7 with Kiehl's and the 28 Day #High5ToGreatSkin Challenge and so far, so good. I haven’t really noticed any major differences when looking in the mirror, but I can honestly feel the changes brewing. After just 1 week of religiously applying the 5 Kiehl’s products included in the #ChangeYourSkin range, my skin already feels so much healthier.

My main skin concerns going into this challenge included dryness, fine lines and dullness. And while I am fully aware that there is no quick fix to any of these issues, I really feel like I’m on the right track to changing my skin - and rectifying a few bad habits along the way.

I’ve enjoyed using all 5 of the products this week but a special shout out must go out to the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This stuff is pure magic in a bottle and has left the biggest impression so far. I massage a few drops into my skin before bed-time and it’s amazing. Its light weight, absorbs into my skin really well and smells super luxurious. It totally relaxes me at the end of the day and my skin is silky smooth when I wake up the next morning.

Watch out for my Day 14 update. I’ll have had enough time with each product to be able to give you a chunkier review of my experience. I'm hoping I’ll have seen a few noticeable changes by then too.

It has been exactly 7 days since I started my skincare journey with Kiehl's five key steps to great skin, and I am impressed with the results thus far although they are not drastic. I am seeing little positive changes.

Overall I love the products, I haven't experienced any breakouts or irritation whilst on these products. However I'll be mainly focusing on my top 3 favorites for this review.

1. Powerful strength line reducing concentrate:
After applying this product you will experience a tingling sensation which is stated on the packaging itself so do not panic, however the feeling shouldn't last that long after you apply your day cream or midnight recovery concentrate. when I wear makeup I used to notice fine lines where my foundation would dip into around my mouth area (smile lines), yesterday when I was about to wash my face those lines weren't there which is GREAT!

2. Clearing correcting dark spot solution:
This product makes my everyday, because it isn't oily so its no problem using it during the day, and I love how my skin absorbs the product which goes to show that its lightweight. Although I still do have spots, I am seeing the marks on my forehead lighten slowly. I don't expect to have flawless skin overnight, but I am excited to see my marks lighten up. I also use this concentrate on my chest where I experienced a slight breakout too which left me with a few scars.

3. Midnight Recovery Concentrate:
So I fell in love with this one on day one. As I mentioned before my skin loves changing according to season, although it is oily 80% of the time. I found that this winter its mostly dry, and I experienced things like flaking etc around my forehead area. Girl I haven't been experiencing any of that since I've been on this concentrate, and I'm surprise that i haven't broken out while on it, because my skin doesn't agree with most oils, but clearly Kiehl has something special in this recovery. I also noticed that although it is a oil based product it doesn't leave your skin feeling heavy, its very light weight.

Those are my top 3 items out of the 5 I received from Kiehl.

So it has been exactly 7 days since I started the Kiehls #High5ToGreatSkin Challenge, and boy oh boy.. Do I have a lot to tell you!

1. Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

I have been loving this product! Which was a little bit of a surprise because I actually never expected to love it as much as I do. Firstly, there has been a noticible difference in the dark marks and uneven skin tone issues that I have been battling with so long. This solution has skin tone evening properties and it has worked faster than I ever would have expected. Also, I have been using it as a spot treatment to target pesky little breakouts, and within 2 days they are completely dried out.

2. Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line Reducing Serum

To be perfectly honest, this serum has pros and cons. The cons are that I am really not a fan of the texture of this product. I just find that it gives me a very strange feeling as I apply it, and also, there is a warm sensation that I have experienced after. The pros are that it works. Truthfully. This was the one product that I made sure to keep a close eye on because at 22, I have already noticed fine lines on my face, especially on my forehead and around my mouth area. My skin is already starting to look firmer so I am quite pleased about that and I cannot wait to see my results in the future.

3. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream

Rich and creamy, this product is exactly what I need to get my day started and prep my skin for makeup. My favourite thing is that it doesn’t leave you feeling oily or greasy (which would be awful as I already have fairly oily skin), but you can feel without a doubt how nourishing this cream is. It is a simple, no nonsense moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling healthy and hydrated without clogging your pores.

4. Creamy Eye Treatment With Avo

One of my absolute favourite products of all time! I cannot believe how amazing this eye treatment is. Even though I am a beauty and makeup enthusiast, I never really saw the use of an eye cream. However, after purchasing several different eye creams from different brands and seeing no results, this product has completely rocked my world. My under eyes, lids and the area surrounding my orbital bones have never looked healthier. The thing that I love the most about this product is that I have noticed a real difference with the way my makeup lasts under my eyes, especially when it comes to my concealer creasing. I am totally obsessed with this cream, real talk.

5. Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This was honestly the product I was most excited about when this challenge started. I have always been a fan of oils and oil based serums especially in the night time to nourish my skin. And this serum did not disappoint. At. All. And it also smells incredible! The mix of lavender and other botanicals relaxes me and helps me wind down for bed. And the best part is that my skin is glowing every morning when I wake up. This is the product for you if you need something to restore your skin every night.

AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDD. . . (insert drumroll)

My Clarisonic Mia 2 arrived in the post on Tuesday morning, and to say I was excited is a huge understatement. So im going to give you my first impression on this iconic product.

Firstly, anyone clued up with beauty knows that Clarisonic is the Gucci (in quality and price) of facial cleansers but as far as I can tell, it is worth every last cent. There is nothing that is not impressive about this gadget from the packaging to the fact that it comes with its own travel case. I was even amazed with the way it charges and the lights… I could go on all day. But then I had to put it to the test. The bristles of the brush are super soft, yet the vibrations ( which come at 2 varying speeds) help to exfoliate my skin and reveal a glowing complexion. And as a frequent makeup user, I didn’t really realize how much makeup is actually left on my face even after using wet wipes and washing my face. The brush really gets into your pores to remove every last morsel of makeup. Then I follow that with my Kiehls products and my skin is left smooth and glowing and amazing!

I am so excited to continue this challenge and document my results because so far, this challenge has become everything and more than what I thought it would be.

#High5ToGreatSkin Final Review

Hey babes! So today I have my final review of the #High5ToGreatSkin campaign with Kiehls. This journey has been absolutely amazing and I can’t tell you how much my skin has transformed. So let me break it down ?

1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate

As I’ve mentioned before, this was the one product I think that I was most excited about. As an avid user of serums and nighttime oils, I had some high expectations from this oil. It smells absolutely divine and it’s the most hydrating oil I thin I have ever come across. My skin glows every single morning when I wake up thanks to this oil and I will definitely be repurchasing it.

2. Dermatologist Solutions: Cleary Corrective Dark Spot Solution

Not the most exciting product at first glance but once you use it, you’ll discover that it works like a bomb! All of the pigmentation spots I had at the beginning of this journey have drastically faded and, I have discovered an amazing pimple solution. I just dot it in breakouts in the morning and in the evenings, and within a few days, the blemishes have completely dried out and without any telltale marks. If you have pigmentation issues from blemishes and uneven skin tone then this is the product for you!

3. Dermatologist Solutions: Powerful Strength Line Reducing Serum

This is possibly the product I saw the most difference in my skin with. When I started this challenge, there was a particular line on my forehead that I had my eye on. I can confidently say that although that line is not completely gone, the difference is clearly noticeable and I have a feeling that by using this product consistently I won’t have to worry about any botox bills in the future!

4. Creamy Eye Treatment With Avo

By far my favourite product in this entire challenge! This product is rich and creamy and has done absolute wonders for my under eyes! I cannot rave enough about this cream. Your eye area is the most sensitive area of your entire face and this cream has kept it hydrated and healthy. I use this eye cream alone or under makeup, day and night and even my makeup longevity has improved with regular use of this eye cream. Love, love, love!

5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream

This cream is not the most exciting product but what I love about it the most is the texture and the consistency. It is super hydrating without leaving you greasy. I have really oily skin so at the beginning of the challenge I had quite a few concerns because I didn’t want to use any products that would leave my face feeling like an oily frying pan. But it did the complete opposite. It is fast absorbing and extremely gentle on the skin. It has no fragrance so if you have super sensitive skin or oily skin it works wonderfully.

I had the most amazing time doing this challenge and seeing the results makes me excited to see what my skin will be in the future. I have noticed that Kiehls products are some of the most gently products I have ever used and there is a particular emphasis on hydration, but still being mindful of people of all skin types.

It has been an absolute pleasure!

My first day I received I started using My Kiehl's. First I did my cleansing. I am in my 40's and pray that Khiel's can vanish my lines and dark eye mark away. The first my five steps. I had this tingling sensation on my face. The next morning I did the four steps as the Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate is only for night use. It takes me about ten minutes morning and night with this process. My skin feels soft a smooth. Well my journey continues and hope this product will be a success.

DAY21:

I've finally found BAE!

It's official. The #ChangeYourSkin challenge with Kiehl's has got me giving a massive #High5ToGreatSkin.

I have been using the 5 products religiously and it has worked for me in so many ways.

The Dark Spot Corrector is my go-to product from the range. It has helped lighten and remove the dark spots on my cheek area as well as on my forehead. I am soooo thankful this gorgeous beaut.

For my night time skin routine, after cleansing and toning my face, I grab the Midnight Recovery Concentrate.
Firstly, It smells A M A Z I N G. No matter how tired or not-so tired you, this helps you sleep reeeeeal good.

As for the Morning Glow I have been carrying lately, it is a testimony that the range has been treating me well.

The Eye Treatment is something I grab only once a week, only because my eyes are not so bad ANYMORE.

The usage with the Line Reducing Concentrate has been the same with the Eye Treatment.

My experience with Kiehl's has been really worth the time spent and I'm definitely going to continue this relationship.

It has been a week now that I have been using these 5 products.

The one I'm more excited to see how it works for me is the Dark Spot Corrector but with that being said, the Ultra facial cream has been making my skin feel like gold. Super radiant and effective. Midnight Recovery smells D E V I N E.

I'm in love.

It sometimes hits me all the times I use the products how great my skin is going to turn out to be and I must say, it is slowly giving me the confidence to walk proudly in my skin.

I received my products yesterday in the mail, and at first glance I was highly impressed with the products packaging. They all look exquisite over all, and the mini glass bottles are so convenient for traveling. I love how the concentrates have a dropper, that will help with minimizing product wastage.

I tried the midnight recovery concentrate last night for the first time, and I am in love with the product.

I generally am someone who has sensitive combination skin, that changes depending on the season. Lately my skin has been extremely dry and flaky around my forehead area. The midnight recovery concentrate has left my skin feeling hydrated, and smooth thanks to the essential oils used to formulate the product. I haven't experienced any peeling today.

I am looking forward to the rest of my journey with Kiehl's #High5ToGreatSkin challenge.

Introduction

As a WoC, my dark skin tone has the tell-tale signs of uneven pigmentation. I'm pretty used to that and have found ways to 'camouflage' the unevenness, however my combination (type) skin suffered a hormonal breakout about three weeks ago and now I have these dark stubborn spots to remind me of the disaster. To top that off I've been noticing that my smile/ laugh lines are becoming more permanent and squinting my eyes (I'm short-sighted) has definitely left its mark in the form of fine wrinkles under my eyes.

So this Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin challenge couldn't have come up at a more perfect time, right? I'm excited to be testing out these 5 iconic beauty products and seeing how the combined use of the products could improve the appearance and health of my skin.

First Impression (Day One)

I received the products in the afternoon so first application occurred at night, after I had cleansed my face. I've listed the products in the order of application:

1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate R755.00

This lightweight elixir of natural essential oils applies like a dry oil, so it's instantly absorbed and doesn't leave any greasy residue. It has a delicate yet noticeable floral scent which comes from floral notes of lavender, rose and jasmine oils that are included in the elixir. I applied it over my entire face and I'm impressed by how quickly it absorbs into the skin.

2. Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution R700.00

This lightweight solution has the texture of a watered-down gel and it is also readily absorbed into the skin. Kiehl's attests to its effectiveness in ' deeply and rapidly [correcting] the appearance of dark spots and [unifying] skin tone. I focused the application of this solution to the areas of my face which currently have dark spots and uneven pigmentation, so my forehead, cheeks and chin. I'm most excited to see what this particular product can do, as uneven skin tone and dark spots are at the top of my 'must correct' list.

3. Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate R825.00

This concentrate is the most interesting to me because you actually feel your skin warm up and tingle as you apply it. It boasts of a highly potent (but safe to use) concentration of Vitamin C which is known to improve the look of skin by targeting aging concerns, including skin texture and appearance. The concentrate applies like primer (a cross between a lightweight cream and gel) and leaves your skin feeling very smooth. I applied it over my entire face and pat it into the areas which have visible pores and fine lines (wrinkles).

4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado Oil R385.00

A luxuriously thick and creamy eye treatment with Avocado oil, which is known for its moisturising properties and is a rich source of Vitamin E (skin repairer). The treatment is quite thick so I only apply a small amount under my eyes and pat it into my skin using my ring finger. I love how hydrating it feels as it blends into the skin- it doesn't feel oily at all.

5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream R355.00

The most noticeable properties of this facial cream is how lightweight and hydrating it is. It literally just melts into your skin and leaves it feeling smooth and supple with very dewy glow. I was taken aback by the glow, because I initially thought my skin looked oily but as I examined it, I noticed that it was more hydration than anything. I do feel like I will need to calm the glow down with a translucent powder when I apply it during the day.

For application in the morning, I skip the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which is said to work best at night.

Overall first impression

My overall first impression of the entire collection of products is that they feel like good quality, which I guess is the reason for the hefty price tag. My skin feels and looks hydrated after using the products. The 5 step application (4 in the morning) is quite intensive, so not the simplest or most minimalist of skincare routines (especially if you already double cleanse and tone before the application), but I'm ready to adapt and see how my skin changes after each week of use.

Week 1

So it's been 7 days since I took up the Kiehl's #High5ToGreatSkin challenge and so far I'm loving what I'm seeing. My skin hasn't changed dramatically but there are definitely small noticeable results. To keep things consistent, I will discuss the results in the order of product application (as I did with the first impressions).

1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate

The first thing that I did upon waking up after using the #High5ToGreatSkin products for the first time was check my skin to see if the Midnight Recovery Concentrate had kept to its promise of rejuvenating my skin overnight and keeping it moisturised and soft and I'm glad to say that it did and has been keeping it moisturised and soft for the week that has passed. Because the concentrate is quickly absorbed into my skin, it is not wiped off or absorbed by my pillowcase as I sleep at night (I noticed this because the side of my face I lay on my pillow when I sleep wasn't as dewy as the other, but still felt very hydrated and soft).

2. Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

Although my dark spots aren't completely gone, I've certainly noticed that some of them have started to fade since using the solution. Also my complexion looks brighter, although I'm not sure if it's due to the Vitamin C content of this solution or the line-reducing concentrate but either way, I think we are off to a great start. One thing the solution has failed to do however, is keep the pimples from sprouting. One sneaky pimple has appeared right smack in the middle of my left cheek, but I guess I'll have to see how the solution works to prevent it from going dark.

3. Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

Although this line-reducing concentrate is one of my favourites in terms of immediate effect (I'm a sucker for science so the tingling and warming sensation still fascinates me), I'm sad to say I haven't really seen much in terms of skin changes, particularly the line-reducing property. The laugh lines around my mouth are still pretty visible and I can't really apply the product under my eyes (where the fine lines from squinting are) since it is recommended that the eye area be avoided. I do believe however that the Vitamin C is working to refine and brighten my skin tone.

4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado Oil

I still love how lightweight this eye treatment is. It's really hydrating which is important for the eye area, but apart from that I can't really say much else. The only issue I have with my eye area is the fine lines, which are still present so the treatment has kept my eye area moisturised but I'm yet to see if the product can repair or improve the fine lines.

5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream

You cannot deny the glow this facial cream gives you. It's SUPER hydrating and just has a lovely texture which makes it so pleasant to apply. My skin feels fantastic - it's soft and bouncy and feels so moisturised, a definite essential in this drying winter climate. As I mentioned in my first impressions review, I do find it necessary to powder the centre of my face because when my T-zone gets oily during the course of the day, the 'glow' from the cream is exaggerated which makes my nose and forehead look quite shiny. Apart from that, I've really been loving the hydration this cream gives off.

Overall impression

So far, I'm loving the combined effect/results of the #High5ToGreatSkin products. My skin really feels well taken off and I haven't had any adverse changes to my skin. I really do feel like I've upgraded my skincare, which worries me because when this challenge concludes and my High5 stash starts to diminish, repurchasing will be an expensive necessity, lol!

Week 2

Hi everyone! This week I've uploaded a video to show you how I apply my #High5ToGreatSkin products and what I've been loving about the products so far. I changed the order of application around to improve absorption of the products.

Week 3

So 21 days into the challenge and I've unfortunately had a bit of a setback. I had a hormonal breakout which basically ravaged my forehead and created even more dark spots. Although the #High5ToGreatSkin products hadn't completely done away with my original hyperpigmentation, some spots were beginning to fade so quite disappointing to have to see new spots appear.

The products that have really stood out for me so far have been the Ultra Facial Cream, Midnight Recovery Concentrate and the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. While the facial cream and MRC have done a superb job in keeping my skin hydrated and moisturised as promised, the Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate has not reduced my laugh lines but it has brightened up my complexion beautifully (potent Vitamin C!!). My skin looks refined (except for the areas where I suffered the breakout) and really healthy. The creamy eye treatment has also been doing a fine job keeping my undereyes moisturised, but nothing quite outstanding. I think the results would be more exciting if I had dry skin or deep set wrinkles. My greatest disappointment has really been the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. I expected big things from it, maybe a bit too zealous, but yeah, I was really looking forward to not seeing my dark spots by the third week. Some have started to fade as mentioned, but not quite the way I expected.

One thing I think should have been stressed at the beginning of this challenge is the importance of using high SPF sunscreen when using some of the pigmentation reducing products. It not only protects your refined skin, but also helps maintain the work done by the products.

Week 4: Final Review

So the 28 days of the #ChangeYour Skin challenge have come to an end and I will be giving your my overall impression of the #High5ToGreatSkin products and the changes I've seen on my face.

In my last review I mentioned that I had suffered a hormonal breakout. I'm glad to say that it's clearing up beautifully and I believe that the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution has played a part in assisting my skin's recovery. It has also helped fade my original acne scars and dark spots, however not as quickly as I thought it would. I would say there is a 75% fade in the original hyperpigmentation that I captured in the 'Before' photos.

The Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate has truly been my favourite out of the 5 products. Although it failed at removing my laugh lines, the Vitamin C content in it helped brighten and refine the texture of my skin. My skin looks luminous and smooth.

The MRC has also been a wonderful product to use. It's helped lock in the moisture of my skin while I sleep, resulting in a glowy 'morning after' complexion. I've learnt that the oil can also be applied to the cuticles so I'll be adding that to my night-time beauty routine.

The Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado did an excellent job in keeping my undereyes hydrated and moisturised. Seeing as the instructions for the other concentrates warned against application on the delicate eye area, it was great to have a product that was solely dedicated to protecting and maintaining the eye area.

The second favourite product has been the Ultra Facial Cream. What a luxurious, hydrating lifesaver! My skin loved the nourishment and care it received from this product. While most facial moisturisers tend to lose their effect towards the end of the day, this cream kept my skin feeling hydrated and supple throughout the day. I really enjoyed using it and would strongly recommend it for anyone suffering from dry, irritated skin.

Overall impression

I have really appreciated being a part of this challenge. It taught me a lot in terms of skincare and being consistent if you want to see good results. It was quite an intensive routine to follow, but those are the lengths you have to be prepared to go to, to achieve healthy-looking radiant skin. Not only did I gain a gorgeously radiant complexion, but my makeup application has also been wonderful. I think that because my skin was well nourished and hydrated, it assisted the smooth application of my makeup.

Hey beautties , It has been 28 days of the Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin challenge , 28 days of using the 5 cult products . Thinking back on how my skin was before the chllenge , I did not have too many issues with my skin, but one can always improve their skin.

Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate : In general I had a love hate relationship with this product. My skin does feel a lot firmer so I can say the product does do the job it promises to do.My skin did get accustomed to the tingling warm sensation you get when applying the product. I just generally am not a fan of very strong products an I think its a little too strong for my skin.

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution: Although all the spots on my face have not compeletly vanished they have reduced drastically in darkness ( barely there). I think definately a great product for small dark spots on your skin .

Creamy Eye Treatment: This one's a keeper , definately one my fave's . My eyes are moistrurized it seeps into your skin nicely and doesnt irritate the eyes .

Ultra facial Cream: Im not relly sure about this one its a very light weight moisturizer it did not sweep me off my feet.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate : Not parting ways with this baby . I enetered the challenge already a big fan of night oils and as the challenge ends my love affair with this product will continue. Great bottle which allows easy application, really hydrates the skin I wake up with softer brighter looking skin.

In conclusion I did not really have any major problems with the products. The two products which stood out to me is the Midnight recovery oil and the creamy avacado eye cream.

Its been three weeks on the Kiehl's 28 day #ChangeYourSkin challenge. I shall be updating you on how things have been going because the end is near. This week has gone like a breeze in general my skin does feel a bit different it is a lot firmer than before.

Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate :
I have gotten use to this product to the extent that i do not feel or should i say notice the tingling feeling when applying it . I mentioned that my skin feels a lot firmer I believe the firmness of my skin has to do with this product.

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution:
I have been using this product on my dark spots in the beginning the darkness of the spots reduced drastically, but it seems that the lightening of the spots has reached a plateau . I say this because the darkness of the spots seems to be the same as last week.

Creamy Eye Treatment:
Still continuing to be a hit with me . This product keeps my under eyes hydrated and smooth.

Ultra facial Cream:
There is not much I can say about this face cream, Its a light weight cream and gives your skin full moisture ( came in really handy during the cold front this week). I have noticed though that using this has made my T-zone oil up faster when I apply makeup.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate :
A winning product still my favourite. When you wake up your skin just feels so smooth and looks brighter.

Its been a week since I began the Kiehl’s 28 day #changeYourSkin challenge using the 5 iconic products, so I am going to break down how things have been going so far .

Dermatologist Solutions Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
This was the one product I was a bit sceptical to try, being 20 years old I have to be honest I haven't reached that stage in my life where lines and wrinkles are an issue for me, but I do have a few lines on my neck so I decided to keep an eye on those as I used the product. I am not particularly a fan of the tingling warm sensation you get after applying the product. But I have to admit I'm a fan of the orangey smell and I have noticed a small difference in the lines on my neck .

Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
This is the product which has shown the greatest results in the first week . I have been using it on my cheeks focusing on all the dark spots I have from popping various annoying pimples. The dark spots have drastically reduced in darkness and I definitely have a feeling by the rate the product is working all the spots will be gone by the end of the challenge .

Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I think I have fallen in love , everything about this product makes me smile from the packaging, to the smell and to how soft and well moisturized my skin feelings in the morning . This one is a keeper!

Ultra Facial Cream
I must say I love this face cream it leaves my skin soft and well hydrated without the oily feeling. Its has a light weight formula so its perfect for those make-up days . The only con to this product is that it doesn't have SPF and I personally prefer day creams which have SPF ( you can always just use your own sunscreen).

Creamy eye treatment with Avocado
I never expected to really like this product one of my favourites , as I have mentioned above wrinkles ,lines etc have never really been a problem of mine but after using this I finally understand the importance of a good eye cream. The skin under my eyes looks so much more brighter helping me achieve a overall more a awake healthy look.

So far so good I have been enjoying the challenge and my skin care routine has gone up a notch

My first Impression
I have just received the Kiehls 5 iconic products and i am accepting the 28 day #ChangeYourSkin challenge . The products I received was the Dermatologist Solutions Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Ultra Facial Cream and the Creamy eye treatment with Avocado.
So before I begin the challenge let me share a few things about my skin.

I have never been one prone to skin problems I get the occasional breakouts and extra oily T-zone . I have also had a constant battle with an uneven skin tone and have a few scars on my cheeks from popping my pimples ( which I know is so wrong ).

As a a year old student When it comes to my skin my goal is to have healthy, hydrated ,glowing skin and spend most my days with minimal makeup or no makeup at all. I love full moisture and products which are not too harsh .

Apologies for my review being late...my phone just hasn't been cooperating with me lately!

So happy to part of this journey! Being a therapist I always search for products that actually work.

Concerns:
Genetically- I'm prone to hyperpigmentation around my eye area which has always been a concern for me, I also have skin that scars easily.

I've always had dehydrated skin,and I believe everyone's is to some extent, environmental damage is a constant struggle for skin.

I also have been suffering recently with stress and hormonal breakouts so i feel like my skin never has a break even if I stop using makeup for a while.

I'm keen to see how my skin changes over the next 28 days!

Day 1 (15 July 2016)/First impressions:

I started of with the Creamy Eye Treatment which sure is creamy, yet quickly absorbed leaving just enough hydration ..eye creams normally sting my eyes no matter what brand it is or how i apply it (normally i apply it with ring fingers around entire eye area, not too close,and above brow bone) but this one didn't at all. #High5 to that!!

Next i tried out the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution which absorbed easily which I love, really keeping my fingers crossed with this one (also put just a little bit under my eye area - anything to get rid of those dark rings!!)

And lastly I applied all over my face and neck the Midnight Recovery Concentrate..i must admit, I cringe at the idea of putting any form of oil on my face, but I've decided to use this as a pm treatment for the duration of the #High5ToGreatSkin challenge.
As a therapist I believe anything "heavier" or "richer" should be used at night when your body is in a state of rest and repair.

Day 7 Review :

MY SKIN LOOKS AMAZING!

Remember I said I suffer with breakouts? They have completely calmed down!!!

I stuck to a simple routine for the week- AM: Line Concentrate as a serum, Creamy eye Cream , and face moisturiser
PM: Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution as a serum including entire eye area, then the Creamy Eye Treatment over, which felt like and easier application than doing it the other way around. And lastly the Midnight Recovery Concentrate over my face and neck.

As part of my weekly routine,I had microdermabrasion (intense exfoliation using alimunium oxide crystals) done on Monday and exfoliated again on Friday , masking after both of the above. I use an illuminating honey mask as a leave on mask. Masking is so important after an exfoliation because it closes your pores, locking in the goodness of serums applied underneath.

I also received my Clarisonic Mia2 with a cleanser, which is an effortless way to cleanse and gently exfoliate your skin. I would recommend this to everyone, especially if you wear makeup daily. Do yourself a favor and get your hands on one..you will thank me later:)
I would recommend exfoliating AND masking twice a week to allow optimal product absorbtion and penetration.

My skin also has a more even tone, especially under my eye area which I love!

I love that the range is so result driven, I am so pleased, and we are only one week in!

I am super excited to take part in the Keihls challenge because ofcourse I've already heard such awesome things about these products. So I wanted to see how it meets my skincare needs and standards.

I've always viewed skincare as an pleasurable part of being a woman, which it is.That's mainly because I never suffered from any extreme skin issues throughout my life. So there were times i wasn't concerned about products, ingedients or having a locked routine. Fast forward to me now at 27 that has all changed.
I have definitely realised that I do need to work on my skin if I want to keep the youthful and problem free for longer.So I'm constantly on a quest to find great skincare that will fix all my concerns.

So what are my skin concerns?
1.My constant MAIN skin concern throughout my 20's has been and always is dryness. I have dry skin all year round no matter the city but its more of a concern in Winter of course.

2. Another concern is also pigmentation especially around my eyes,lips and side burns. I know make-up can hide that all but I don't want to live in make-up. I enjoy a more natural look most days.

3. I'm not super concerned about aging & fine lines just yet but I figure I curb it now before it gets to that stage.

So I got my Kiehl’s 5 ICONIC goodies yesterday just in time and have already used them twice since. Last night, I tried the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which I was ecstatic to get because I've been considering getting a replenishing night oil. So far I liked the lightness of the oil a little 2 drops covered my entire face and I felt 0 tightness. I also used the Eye Treatment which I'm most eager to see work over time and I like the texture of it,not a lot is needed.

Then this morning I used the Dark Spot Solution along with Ultra Facial Cream. I didn't even wear make-up to work to full suss it out. My usually dry skin took to the moisturizer well.

**1 WEEK UPDATE on KIEHL’S CHALLENGE**

It's been a little over a week and I'm optimistic Kiehl’s Change Your Skin challenge is going to get me to my skin goals! Check my recent post shower pic below. Do you see the grin on my face? Well, that's cause mid challenge I also recieved the coveted Clarsonic Mia2( thee Queen of facial brushes). Using it with Kiehl's Iconic 5 has taken my routine to another level((((((((((((BOOM)))))))))))))

I'm totally seeing changes, starting with the bags under my eyes courtesy of

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment:
The dark bags under my eyes have actually decreased a bit. I wasn't ready... this has been the most noticeable different on my face so far.

Ultra Facial Cream:
I struggle with dryness daily and this cream has kept my skin 100% hydrated & radiant. I haven't 't experienced any dryness during my day, after putting it on in the morning. On some days I've even ditched foundation to see if it's really that good & well it's all that and more. Totally sticking to this one

Corrective Dark Spot Solution:
I dont have many spots but I have pigmentation that I've had for years. I haven't noticed a difference there but I think my stubborn pigment needs a bit more than a week to really see this product work.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
This product here is my new Winter holy grail. I will no longer skip my night routine before bed with it by my stand. I like the radiance it gives my skin by the morning. I'm so impressed I even put it to the test on my boyfriend who has been experiencing dry patches lately.

 So far I'm feeling the improvement I'm seeing and can't wait for Day 28.

I'm super excited about the journey I'll be going on with Kiehl's. Skin care is the first step to self love.

The one I'm more excited to see how it works for me is the Dark Spot Corrector but with that being said, the Ultra facial cream has been making my skin feel like gold. Super radiant and effective. Midnight Recovery smells D E V I N E.

I'm in love.

It sometimes hits me all the times I use the products how great my skin is going to turn out to be and I must say, it is slowly giving me the confidence to walk proudly in my skin.

So it's been quite a while since I uploaded and updated my review and that's because I had an allergic reaction to the products. :(

I just want to highlight that just because I had a breakout from the products doesn't mean that I think the products are terrible or that I think any less of them. What works for someone won't necessarily work for the next person and the only way to find out if something is for you is through trial and error. I've seen some AMAZING results from the other ladies taking part of this campaign and that in its entirety speaks volumes!!

Lastly I want to reiterate how thankful I am to have been chosen for this challenge and to honestly say that through the process of my skin not working out with the products, the BB and Kiehl's team customer service was A++ and that on its own is something I'm truly appreciative of.

My name is Azande and I'm 26 years old. I'm a part time makeup artist and partner of BeatMUA and full time candidate attorney.

I was extremely excited for the opportunity to take part in the 28 day #High5ToGreatSkin #ChangeYourSkin challenge, especially since my skin has been doing a number on me of late and also because I had only heard great things about Kiehls products.

My skin concerns:

I used to struggle with acne prone skin but with numerous skin treatments, dermatologist visits and I guess with age, the relationship between my skin and acne has become a more harmonious one, besides the 2 or 4 pimples on a monthly (we know why). I get these on my face and my chest. The problem is these bad boys don't just come and go, they've left evidence in the form of dark marks/spots to show that "I was here."

I have an uneven skin tone where certain areas of my face are darker than others - mainly under my eyes and mouth/chin area.

My skin is on the oily side, even though it tends to be a bit drier in the winter time, it maintains oily/combination.

I received the 5 iconic products last night just as I got in from work and I immediately put them to work for my night time skin care routine. I also used them this morning.


My first impressions (in order of how I used them):

1. Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - I'm the most excited for this product especially for it's brightening effects targeted at evening out skin tone. The consistency is comparable to that of a liquid toner,which I like, as its light weight.

2. Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate - it smells extremely fresh and citrusy. It left a tingling/stinging sensation which lingered for about 10 minutes or so.

3. Creamy Eye Treatment - my under eye area is the driest of my whole face and because this product has a very thick consistency, I'm excited to see how it helps with the dryness.

4. Midnight Recovery Concentrate - I am most apprehensive about this product, as I tend to shy away from any kind of oils on my face (except for tea tree oil). To the touch, the consistency felt pretty light weight and it didn't leave me feeling oily but I'll see how it fares over the next weeks.

5. Ultra Facial Cream - because I used the midnight recovery concentrate last night, I decided not to use this moisturiser (I have a great anxiety about being oily lol). I used it this morning and so far my face hasn't felt "heavy" or excessively oily.

Day 5 | New Impressions

It's officially been 5 days since I embarked on my Kiehl's Skincare Journey. To my honest surprise, because I am a slight pessimist when it comes to this kind of thing - I have already noted slight changes in my skin! My husband even ran his fingers over my face last night and commented on how soft glowy my skin looked. After using each of the product for a little bit of time now, I have this to say about each of them.

Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate

This is such a crazy product! I feel like I am literally watching it work its' magic on my skin. Although, after a couple of days of use I've come to realise just how potent this mixture is. It leaves my skin feeling a little tingly and a little sore to be honest. Especially in spots where I have blemishes. I don't hate the feeling but I also feel like it is a feeling I shouldn't be feeling. This feeling also seems to amplify at night, maybe after I have taken all my make up off, my skin remains a little stressed from a day out in the elements? I don't know. It doesn't make me want to stop using the product though. I just think It may be a little strong for me as i have sensitive skin.

Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

At fist I started using this over the Line-reducing Concentrate, but last night I swapped the two and the feeling felt a lot more natural. It soaked into my skin a little better and left my face with a fresh feeling. I love the smell of this product! I have yet to see any noticeable differences in pigmentation though so, stay tuned for updates!

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

I absolutely adore this product! Probably my favorite out of the lot! As mentioned before, I love oils & concentrates because I have super dry skin so the extra moisture is always welcome. I only use them at night though, as I feel like it leaves my skin too oily for the day if I use it in the morning. This one smells absolutely glorious and I'm certain that this is one of those products I'll keep going back to for a very long time to come.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial moisturising Cream

To be honest, this product is not really the kind of moisturiser I would generally go for. I like a much thicker consistency, especially since I am using it over so many other products. It does feel amazing though, and doesn't take too long to soak into my skin, which I like. It has left my skin hydrated and feeling soft, which is awesome.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

I love the consistency of this product. It's thick, rich and smooth. I have seen no noticeable difference around my eyes in the time I have been using this but am eager to see if it makes any changes in the future.

First Impressions

For those who have been following an of the Beauty Diaries I have done in the past, you will know that I have incredibly dry skin. I cannot go a day with out my moisture routine otherwise my skin starts drying out immediately, and after a day, starts to peel. I've learned to manage this as much as I can but every now and then, especially in Winter and the cold, my skin starts to play up on me.

My First Impression

I had no idea what to expect from this product as I have never used any kind of line reducing product before. On squeezing the product onto my fingers, it looks and smells like any other lotion, but as you run the product over your skin, it changes its consistency completely which was super surprising. It's got a silky, chalky kind of feeling to it and absorbs instantly into your skin, leaving it feeling like it has a protective silk layer over your face. I think this is a super interesting product and can't wait to see what it does for my skin after the 28 days!

My First Impression

My first impression of this product was completely wrong! I thought, from its appearance that it would have a sleek and oily consistency. It doesn't. It has a very thin consistency and once applied to the skin, it definitely has the feeling of a treatment. All the area's on my face that had blemishes or open sores, started to burn and tingle, but in a good way, if you know what I mean? I have pretty patchy red marks on my skin and that's why I always wear foundation. If this product can help me with a more even complexion, maybe I can reduce my foundation use. That would be amazing!

My First Impression

I am no stranger to a good facial oil concentrate. I love them! They're pretty much the only thing that helps with truly with my dryness. That's why I was so excited to find out that this product was included in this journey. I don't like using these on their own though and always mix them into my moisturizer. I have no doubt that this product will be magic for my skin and can tell you, it smells heavenly!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream

My First Impression

Moisturizer is so important to me, and will always be my favorite step in my skin care routine. This one smells incredible. I was surprised by the consistency, as i thought it might be a little thicker. It doesn't bother me though. After one use I can tell you it absorbs beautifully into the skin whilst still leaving a gorgeous glow to the skin afterward. I can't wait to see the results after 28 days!

My First Impression

I'm really bad when it comes to eye creams - I always forget about them! Maybe that's why I'm starting to see those little fine lines (tear). This eye treatment surprised me by having a way thicker consistency that I had anticipated. It feels amazing on application and needs a little rub in, in order to absorb. My skin felt a little tingly after a little while but it felt great. I have high hopes for this treatment!

Week 1:
Obsessed is the only way I can describe my experience thus far in the 28day #ChangeYourSkin "challenge" with Kiehl's. After 3 uses my skin felt intensely moisturized and glowy, and that's saying a lot since dry patches and flaky zones were a 24/7 norm in my life.

I wish I could tell you that one product is the more important than the rest but I honestly love them all. The ultra facial cream is hands down the best moisturizer I have ever used. My skin is left hydrated without feeling greasy or tacky. The effects remain throughout the day with the overall result being plump and healthy in appearance.


Thick and nourishing, the avocado eye treatment is infused with avocado oil, beta-carotene and shea butter. These ingredients provide antioxidant properties while protecting the skin from dehydration and restoring the natural moisture of the under-eye area. My bags have experienced better days and using this treatment has definitely improved the appearance of dry skin in the under-eye area.


The midnight recovery concentrate feels amazing. During these colder months, my skin feels tight and deprived of moisture. 2 drops is sufficient to cover your face but 3 allows you to include your neck in your regime. One of the ingredients is evening primrose, which acts like a barrier repair while at the same time boosting the skins radiance. Other ingredients include lavender essential oil and squalane.


There is something soothing about using the corrective dark spot solution. I got a new little friend on my chin and after not being able to keep my hands off of it I used the serum. Overnight redness was reduced while older marks already started appearing lighter due to the activated c, white birch and peony extract that work together to even out skin tone and diminish both new and deep-set dark spots.


With 10.5% Vitamin C, it's no wonder why line-reducing concentrate is known to improve the overall appearance of aging on the skin. L-ascorbic acid and plant-based glycerin work together to provide elasticity and protect the skin from damaging free-radicals. I cannot believe how far my skin has come and I can honestly say that I'm obsessed with the way it looks and feels. It's plump, vibrant and youthful.


Even my husband said "your skin looks really nice" and even though I tried to play it cool I was smiling from ear to ear on the inside!

I like that it's formulated in a way that the concentrated texture does not slip and slide and make it's way in to your eyes. I have chosen to wear my spectacles in the bare faced shot because you cannot hide fine lines or dark circles behind magnifying glasses.

The ultra facial moisturizing cream is essentially a 24-hour lotion which helps reduce moisture loss while drawing and absorbing moisture from the air.

As a photographer, I work with all different skin types - dry, oily, pigmented, perfect, smooth, combination -the list goes on. I have huge respect for the talented makeup artists I work with who know exactly what to cover and what to highlight. Once the flawless makeup has been done, I then capture the concept of the shoot and the editing begins...

Clients often ask me what they can do to capture the perfect selfie, what editing tools to use as well as what makeup routine is best. They also ask me how they can prepare for a shoot and have perfect photo-ready skin. Some of us are gifted with perfect skin, others are gifted with makeup skills and together we can exchange our tips and tricks to have perfect, flawless skin.

I believe the guide to photo-ready skin begins right at the source - your daily skin routine. If you perfect your skin routine and correct your complexion, that would be the canvas to the perfect makeup look as well as the perfect "photoshopped" selfie, right? I have decided to take on the Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin challenge to find out if one can perfect their complexion in just 28 days and be ready for the camera!

I am very excited to begin this challenge with Kiehl's. I am familiar with the brand and am keen to see if my skin can be corrected in 28 days! I will be trying out the following products:

My complexion is currently a combination of dry and oily - winter does that to my skin and I am yet to find a full product range that helps. I am currently using a mixture of products that seem to work.I also suffer from a few blemishes and pigmentation from being in the sun too often! Finally, the dreaded fine lines have started appearing and I am being told that I look exhausted when I am actually feeling great ! - help Kiehl's!

I will be using 5 iconic products that hydrate, moisturize, correct, treat and replenish your skin and will be documenting my thoughts weekly. I will finalize my thoughts at the end of the challenge with an exciting beauty shoot as well as a before and after photo of my skin. Throughout the 28 days I will be sharing my reviews and images via the #highfivetogreatskin and #changeyourskin so be sure to follow and see if you can change your skin in 28 days!

Week 1 Review:

I've used the following products for 1 week and have found the following:

1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate RRSP 755.00

This product smells great. It is easy to lather and you only need a small amount per use. I love the use of the dropper so that one does not use too much. The product is absorbed by the skin quickly leaving a fresh, clean feeling.


4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo RRSP 385.00

This cream has a lovely fragrance and is green in colour. The added avocado oil moisturizes the eye area and soaks into the skin quickly. A small amount goes a long way and the cream does not spread into the eyes.

2. Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution RRSP 700.00

This product has a beautiful fragrance and is quite watery when applying. It spreads evenly throughout the skin and does not leave a feeling of having product on the skin. It soaks in immediately. I focused on areas on pigmentation when applying this product - my forehead mainly to correct sun damage as well as my cheeks and nose. I am excited to see the final results of this product!

3. Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing RRSP 825.00

When lathered onto the skin it leaves a silky texture before soaking in to the skin. When this product is applied you feel a warm, tingling on your skin. I liked the feeling as it makes you feel as though it is getting to work immediately after application! I am most excited to see the results for this product.

5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream RRSP 355.00

The cream has almost no fragrance which I love! It gives one a feeling that the product is pure. The cream is extremely hydrating and is soaked up by the skin after a little while. Once again, a little goes a long way. Since using the moisturizing cream I have no dry areas which was an on-going battle for me for many years.

Overall review:

I am loving the products due to their fragrance and the fact that one only needs a tiny amount of product to go a long way. After two days I saw a difference in my skin - it was clearer than before and my dry skin areas had disappeared. My skin is extremely sensitive and reacts to most skin products I have used. This is the first product that my skin has not reacted to and has improved problem areas. I look forward to seeing the results at the end of my 28 day challenge!

Week 3 review:

Night routine review:

Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I have a combination skin - dry in some places and oily on my forehead. When I first started the 28 day challenge I was reluctant to add more oil to my skin. What I found was that this beautifully fragranced liquid balanced my skin's condition and did not leave an oily feeling when waking up in the morning. My skin felt extremely soft and hydrated.
2. Eye cream
After applying the Elixir oil product, I would lightly dab the avocado based eye cream around my eye area. I would let it soak in as I went to bed. I love the smoothness and smell of the cream. It is easy to spread and did not irritate my eyes. Due to my sensitive skin, my eyes are the first to react and with this particular cream, they have been less "puffy" and more hydrated.

Day time routine review:

1. Line Reducing Concentrate

I apply this product first onto a clean fresh face every morning. My main concerns are my fine lines on my forehead and above my one eye brow, yes only the one eyebrow. I apply it to my problem areas as well as the areas that I want to prevent fine lines - lip lines and both brows. This product warms on the skin and once applied it feels as though you have a protective layer over your pores. I have noticed that my fine lines have reduced after using this product. My skin looks more youthful.

2. Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Next I apply the watery solution onto my skin. All the women in my family suffer from dark spots from my younger sister to my great grandmother therefore I am truly grateful for this product. Looking closely at my skin I have already noticed that my spots on my nose and forehead are less noticeable. This product spreads easily on top of the Line Reducing concentrate. I put these two products on and allow them to soak in / dry before applying my face cream.

3. Ultra Facial Cream
Once the previous two products have dried and it feels as though I do not have any product on my skin (my pet hate), I apply the Facial Cream. One only needs a tiny amount to cover the entire face and neck. This cream has helped hydrate my skin and is extremely soft on sensitive skin like mine. I have had absolutely no reactions which is a huge surprise as I am allergic to most skin products.

I am very impressed with these 5 products. Half way through my #28daychallenge I can already see a difference in my skin. It is happier and more balanced and I am feeling more confident to take part on those #NoMakeupMonday challenges! My skin all in all is clearer and more radiant than ever.

Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin - Day 28

I’ve really enjoyed getting familiar with the Kiehl’s range this last month. My skincare routine is usually pretty simple – cleanse and moisturise twice a day, and I exfoliate once a week or so. Having a range of products to experiment with has changed my attitude towards my daily routine. I’ve realised that my skin needs more TLC than it used to. Part of that is aging – post thirty is a whole different ballgame and the other part is winter. The Cape Town winters are pretty hard on our skin, but it’s totally manageable with the Kiehl’s range.

My two stand out favourites are the ultra facial moisturiser and the midnight recovery concentrate. Both have worked really well to even out my skin texture and colour as well as providing deep moisture that was sorely lacking before this month.

I’m looking forward to the next couple of months finishing off the different products, the line-reducing concentrate in particular has received rave reviews from beauty bloggers around the world. But I haven’t seen too much of a difference from that product yet.

Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin - Day 21

Yay! It’s week 3 and I’ve been enjoying the results of Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin challenge. Let’s have a look at the products.

1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate
This product feels and smells amazing. When you apply the concentrate it feels a bit oily but by the morning my skin is noticeably softer and more hydrated. I really recommend giving this product a try.

2. Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
I don’t have noticeable pigmentation issues, so I’m keeping this product for summer when the sunshine brings out more of the dark patches.

3. Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate
I haven’t noticed any changes yet, but I think this is more of a maintenance product. Beauty bloggers around the world LOVE the line reducing concentrate and it’s the product that I’d most like to see results from.

4. Creamy Eye Concentrate
I love the creamy richness of this product, you really only need to use a tiny bit and it goes a long way. I am really enjoying having a good quality eye cream.

5. Ultra Facial Cream
This product has surprised me, I’m not usually very brand loyal when it comes to moisturisers as my skin isn’t too fussy about what I put on it. But I’ve loved the extra moisture that the cream provides. I’m not sure if it would be too moisturising for people with oily skin, but the packaging states that the cream processes the moisture in the air to keep the skin hydrated which would mean that it would work well even for oily skins.

Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin - Day 14

It’s Day 14 of the Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin campaign. I’m feeling as sick as a dog I’ve hardly been able to get out of bed, but the one thing that’s feeling great? My skin. I’ve tried really hard to keep up with the full routine, but most days I’ve just been putting on the Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream mornings and evenings. I know my skin has been taking a beating, but you can’t see any of that thanks to the cream’s deep moisturising.

I’ll be filming an intro and review next week with all my thoughts and what’s working for me, and what isn’t. But right now, I’m going to make myself a cup of tea and crawl back into bed.

New Week, New Skin. Day 7 of @kiehls.za #ChangeYourSkin Challenge.

Seven days into the Kiehl’s #ChangeYourSkin Challenge and I’ve got a better idea of the products so here’s an update of what’s going on with my skin…

Midnight Recovery Concentrate
This is the product that I was most excited to try. Irina Doman from I’ll Take It All says she has sworn by this product for the past 3 winters, and I’m starting to see why… It’s a nighttime facial oil that makes your skin feel amazing by morning. The distilled botanicals in the oil are naturally calming and restorative so the concentrate smells lovely while being very effective.

I’ve noticed that the dry patches on my skin are feeling much better and I love the feeling of my skin when I wake up in the morning. The oiliness might be offputting for people with natural oily skins, but I find my skin absorbs the oil almost immediately and I hven’t noticed increased oiliness as a result of using the product.

I apply the Midnight Recovery at night over the Line-Reducing and Facial Moisturizing creams.

Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
This product contains activated C to fade age spots. I haven’t been able to see much effectiveness from this product as I don’t have too many dark spots to target. Also, for the first week I was concentrating on my biggest trouble areas – fine lines and uneven skin tone (with the Eye treatment, and Line-Reducing creams) next week I’ll have more to say on this one!

Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
With 10,5% Vitamin C, this is one of the more active anti-aging products available. I haven’t noticed any difference using the product yet, but I am very hopeful for this one. I’ve only been using it in the evenings, but will start using it in the mornings from this week and see if there is more of an effect. I’ve only read great things about the concentrate, so I’m excited to stick with it and get the results!

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo
I am absolutely loving this eye cream – it’s deeply moisturising and doesn’t go into my eyes. I think investing in an eye cream is a long-term play. It may not yield immediate results, but by daily re-adding lost moisture to your eye area, you’re giving yourself the best chance of keeping the sensitive skin around your eyes looking youthful and healthy.

Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream
This has been a surprise favourite for me. I usually use a good quality moisturiser, but this one has exceeded my expectations. I don’t feel any oiliness after application, even if I use it during the day. The lack of oiliness would make you think that maybe it’s not moisturising enough, but that’s not the case either. It’s definitely the best moisturiser, especially with the dry Cape winter, that I’ve tried in a very long time.

I’m super happy with the products so far and looking forward to seeing some more results from the line reducing concentrate and the dark spot solution. All in all it’s been a fantastic first week!

It's Day 1 of @kiehls.za #ChangeYourSkin Challenge.

Well.
Challenge accepted!

I'm really looking forward to the 28 day challenge, learning more about Kiehl's products and giving my skin some much needed TLC.


My main skin concerns are:

1) The not-so-fine lines around my eyes and forehead
2) The dark rings under my eyes (must be something to do with having a ten month old..)
3) Uneven skin tone around my nose area
4) Rough skin texture, especially on my forehead, which seems worse at the moment as we enter the depths of winter...

My Initial Impressions:

I love the packaging of the products - Kiehl's has been at the top of my wish list for about 4 years now - I first noticed the brand when we were living in Barcelona and I'd make a point of walking past the shop at least once a week to have a look at their displays.

#High5ToGreatSkin:

The products I have to test are 5 steps to targeting aging (hooray!)

1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate - this is the one I'm most excited about, it's the product I most often come across and the one that beauty bloggers swear by.

2. Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - I have a little bit of pigmentation around my lip area so I'm hoping this one does what it says!

3. Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing - Yes, please. I'm 32 with very pale skin, anything to reduce the signs of aging.

4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo - Recently I've been reading about the importance of using a good quality eye cream, especially for women over 30. It's going to be interesting to see if using an eye cream makes a noticable difference.

5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream - My first impression of this cream is very positive. I love deeply moisturising face creams. It might be a bit much if you have oily skin but for me it feels great.

Hi Lovelies!

I am so excited to be part of this awesome campaign on trying out 5 iconic products from an iconic brand. As a YouTube beauty blogger (The Glam Guide) and an avid YouTube watcher, Kiehl's has been one of the products that have been raved about, so imagine my excitement when I was chosen to take part in this awesome campaign.

Skin Concerns: In my teenage years, puberty had no mercy on me and I suffered from cystic acne. i had to go on medication to treat it, but the marks have never really quite disappeared. I am super grateful that ever since then, my skin has never really given me many problems in the way of breakout ( although the odd pimple sneaks in from time to time). My skin can also get really oily and I have found that no amount of the most high end primer can control this, so I have to go back to basics and find something that will directly treat my skin and target this problem.

First Impressions: I love the packaging! It is quite old school, and reminds me of something you would have found in a drugstore in London during the 1900s. I love the fact that there are a few serums that have been included in the package because I'm a total sucker for skin care products that are rich and oily and full of goodness.

One Week Later...

Hello lovelies!!

So it has been exactly 7 days since I started the Kiehls #High5ToGreatSkin Challenge, and boy oh boy.. do I have a lot to tell you!

1. Dermatologist Solutions Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

I have been loving this product! Which was a little bit of a surprise because I actually never expected to love it as much as I do. Firstly, there has been a noticible difference in the dark marks and uneven skin tone issues that I have been battling with so long. This solution has skin tone evening properties and it has worked faster than I ever would have expected. Also, I have been using it as a spot treatment to target pesky little breakouts, and within 2 days they are completely dried out.

2. Dermatologist Solutions Powerful Strength Line Reducing Serum

To be perfectly honest, this serum has pros and cons. The cons are that I am really not a fan of the texture of this product. I just find that it gives me a very strange feeling as I apply it, and also, there is a warm sensation that I have experienced after. The pros are that it works. Truthfully. This was the one product that I made sure to keep a close eye on because at 22, I have already noticed fine lines on my face, especially on my forehead and around my mouth area. My skin is already starting to look firmer so I am quite pleased about that and I cannot wait to see my results in the future.

3. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream

Rich and creamy, this product is exactly what I need to get my day started and prep my skin for makeup. My favourite thing is that it doesn’t leave you feeling oily or greasy (which would be awful as I already have fairly oily skin), but you can feel without a doubt how nourishing this cream is. It is a simple, no nonsense moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling healthy and hydrated without clogging your pores.

4. Creamy Eye Treatment With Avo

One of my absolute favourite products of all time! I cannot believe how amazing this eye treatment is. Even though I am a beauty and makeup enthusiast, I never really saw the use of an eye cream. However, after purchasing several different eye creams from different brands and seeing no results, this product has completely rocked my world. My under eyes, lids and the area surrounding my orbital bones have never looked healthier. The thing that I love the most about this product is that I have noticed a real difference with the way my makeup lasts under my eyes, especially when it comes to my concealer creasing. I am totally obsessed with this cream, real talk.

5. Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This was honestly the product I was most excited about when this challenge started. I have always been a fan of oils and oil based serums especially in the night time to nourish my skin. And this serum did not disappoint. At. All. And it also smells incredible! The mix of lavender and other botanicals relaxes me and helps me wind down for bed. And the best part is that my skin is glowing every morning when I wake up. This is the product for you if you need something to restore your skin every night.

AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDD. . . (insert drumroll)

My Clarisonic Mia 2 arrived in the post on Tuesday morning, and to say I was excited is a huge understatement. So im going to give you my first impression on this iconic product.

Firstly, anyone clued up with beauty knows that Clarisonic is the Gucci (in quality and price) of facial cleansers but as far as I can tell, it is worth every last cent. There is nothing that is not impressive about this gadget from the packaging to the fact that it comes with its own travel case. I was even amazed with the way it charges and the lights… I could go on all day. But then I had to put it to the test. The bristles of the brush are super soft, yet the vibrations ( which come at 2 varying speeds) help to exfoliate my skin and reveal a glowing complexion. And as a frequent makeup user, I didn’t really realize how much makeup is actually left on my face even after using wet wipes and washing my face. The brush really gets into your pores to remove every last morsel of makeup. Then I follow that with my Kiehls products and my skin is left smooth and glowing and amazing!

I am so excited to continue this challenge and document my results because so far, this challenge has become everything and more than what I thought it would be.

Remember how happy I was when Beauty Bulletin chose me to review Kiehl's fab five skincare routine?
I couldn't wait to use the products because I had heard so much about them. The review fell right into my goals for 2016 (great skin, get fit, eat healthy, make my first million... you know, the usual).

Religiously, I pampered myself every night and every morning with the products. I was committed to dedicating the next 28 days to Kiehl's and healthy skin.
My favourite was the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, because it smelled of lavender and calmed me down after a rather hectic day. It also performed miracles on my face. I swear Kiehl's stuffs each bottle with fairy dust because I looked like I had a facelift. I'm not even kidding. It was as if the Midnight Recovery Concentrate was an actual Instagram filter - in fact, Instagram should name a filter after this product.



Little did I know that my journey with Kiehl's was about to take a turn. Day 3 into my challenge I experienced a break out on my chin - 3 pesky pimples weaseled their way to freedom, making a break for it right through my delicate skin. It was extremely painful and I could almost hear when it throbbed. I've always heard people say when you start a new skin regime, this sort of thing tends to happen, so I continued with the challenge. By day 7 the break out got worse so I decided to email Lori from Beauty Bulletin. She responded immediately and told me she would get Kiehl's to contact me. I spoke to a Kiehl's consultant that very day who then told me to stop using the products immediately.

A few days later Kiehl's dermatologist, Dr. Sian Hartshorne, called me to chat about my skin. It turns out that I am experiencing adult acne! Adult acne? I am still getting my head around that one. After chatting to me indepth, Dr. Hartshorne explained that my skin was to sensitive for the amount of products I was using. She then officially advised me to stop using all the Kiehl's products and prescribed an ointment to ease the pain.

Now you may think that I am disappointed by this whole experience, but you are sadly mistaken. I am highly impressed by the way Beauty Bulletin and Kiehl's handled the situation. It felt as if I was their top priority and they stopped at nothing to get to the bottom of my crisis.

Would I recommend Kiehl's? Absolutely! Even though it didn't work for me, I have seen some phenomenal reviews of the brand. In fact, I managed to convert a few people to change to Kiehl's. If it doesn't work for you, at least they have an amazing, caring team to assist you on your Kiehl's journey.

The Kiehl's 28 Day Challenge - First Impressions

Hello Beautiful,
Today I received my much anticipated package from Beauty Bulletin, 5 Kiehl's products that promises to change my skin within 28 days. Let me say that again - Twenty-eight days!

When I read that Beauty Bulletin was searching for beauty influencers to take up the challenge, I absolutely had to enter because nothing works on my skin. Let me explain -
I've been blessed with problem free skin all through my teens and early 20's. At 27 I fell pregnant and I've been suffering with skin issues ever since. I wouldn't exactly call it adult acne, but my skin is patchy, I experience breakouts and I definitely have dark spot or discolouration issues. That's the reason I don't go anywhere without my foundation or at least a bit of bronzer.

Beauty Bulletin have requested that I take a few no makeup selfies and I am not going to lie to you, it wasn't easy. I made a promise to myself that I will always be truthful to you so here goes. See below for pic. The struggle is really real

Now I don't know about you, but that in itself makes me believe that these products could actually work on my skin!

My first applications of the products were last night and wow!
Opening the packages was like opening up your birthday presents. Stunning packaging and convenient bottles which really assists in not overusing the products. A very little amount of product is needed in each case.

Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - just 3-4 drops from the dropper lid is needed and applied it directly to the bad pigmentation areas of my face. It feels like a "medicine" and not just a lotion that you hope works.

Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo - again just a spot of this cream is needed for around the eyes. Such a soft feeling but yet not greasy at all.

Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing - a few drops and away you are. Silky feeling and again, no greasiness.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate - the essential oils in this concentrate just relaxes your senses. No greasiness (beginning to like this non greasiness feel)

Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream - just a little again and smooth silky feeling.

I have been using quite a unique skin care range for about 5-6 years. Its now a habit but I do not see much change in my skin condition, especially the pigmentation.

What I am hoping for during my trial is that I have lighter pigmentation areas, less fine lines around my eyes and overall glowing skin.

At 43 its time to take control and do whats necessary to get what I want.

Just an update from yesterday. When I arrived home last night my domestic worker asked me if I have done anything to my skin because it is different. She thought I looked so good and fresh (and all this after a hard days work). Couldn't help but smile from ear to ear

Week 2
I have never spent this amount of time and enjoyment applying products to my face. Its the middle of winter and my skin feels nourished with no tightness. My skin looks alive and I look fresh and awake.

The pigmentation seems lighter but because I see it everyday it seems only a slight change. I would prefer to only post comparison photo's after another week of my trial.

Week 3 #ChangeYourSkin ; #High5ToGreatSkin
I decided to take part in this trial to try find a suitable product for anti ageing, hydration & pigmentation.
My first impressions from my 1st review have not changed. I'm still excited to continue with my routine due to the magnificent textures and fragrances of the products. My skin feels new every night and every morning.

After cleansing with my regular face wash (and exfoliating once a week) I first apply the Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution concentrating mainly on the dark areas of my face. Once this has been absorbed by my skin I apply the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo . This only needs a touch of the cream and is patted lightly (using my fingers next to the pinky) on the bone below my eye as well as under the brow.

After the eye cream has been absorbed by the skin I use 3-4 pumps of the Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing and lightly patting it all over my face and neck. This is absorbed very quickly into the skin so I need to ensure that I spread over the entire area.

At night I apply a few drops of Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This is my absolute favourite. The smell is calming not only to my skin but to my senses too. Although this is oily it does not feel oily once it is on the skin and started absorbing. If I could apply this in the morning I would.

In the morning I repeat the above but replace the Midnight Recovery Concentrate with the Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream which is just as soft as the Midnight Recovery Concentrate but a cream.

Before I leave the house I make sure I apply my normal sunscreen (and of course re-applying when possible).

The new photo's today definite shows the breaking up of the pigmentation beginning to start and some lightening on the bigger areas.

This is my very first campaign and I am rather ashamed to admit that at 38 years old this is my first time using anything other than a daily moisturiser on my skin but I have really been struggling with my skin feeling really dry and it looking blotchy so I am very excited about this #changeyourskin campaign!

I am a work from home mom to four (the oldest is 14 and the youngest is 2) and I blog over at HarassedMom and SA Mom Blogs! My life is pretty crazy and while I am in front of my laptop in the mornings, the afternoons are spent in my car running around!

Back to the campaign! The plan is for me to use the 5 products Kiehls sent us and track how it changes my skin. I have never really had issues with my skin and I rarely wear make up but lately I have noticed a change in my skin, it is uneven, dry and just looking a little unloved so I am really hoping that these creams help to change all of this.

So what did we get?

I have only just started using them all so can't make too much comment but I will say that the Eye Treatment is my favourite so far.

I am struggling a little with the Recovery Concentrate purely because I hate having oily creams on my face and this one feels oily to me BUT you put it on at night and by morning it's all soaked in and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily so I am dealing with it.

I am really excited about the dark spot solution because I have noticed a few dark spots on my face!

It is going to be interesting to see how my skin responds to all of these but I am excited and hopefully I will you will be giving me a #high5togreatskin in 28 days!

So far it's going well. I am struggling a little bit because it feels like I am putting too much on my skin but I was only using a moisturiser so it is 4 more products!

I love the avo eye cream, it smells nice and is the one I can handle the best on my skin. The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is very oily (for me) but then remember I hate oily stuff on my skin, fortunately we add this at night only, so I put it on and then go to bed and its all soaked in by morning.

I have been using the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution on my chest as well because it is also pretty blotchy with dark spots, even though it is also an oily type serum, it doesn't bug me as much as the Midnight one.

UPDATE: WEEK 3
I can honestly say I am loving these products. One of the excuses reasons I have avoided adding things into my regime is because I always felt it would take so much time to add this cream and that cleanser and that oil but I have it down now and I do it without even really thinking about it.

The best is the difference I can feel and see in my skin. It is softer, definitely more hydrated, even while I was sick and not drinking any water and felt awful, my skin looked pretty good. I have noticed though that some mornings it does stay a bit "oily" for a little longer than I would like.

The eye cream is still my favourite, not really sure exactly why but the cream is the right texture, I love the fragrance, it just works for me.

Kiehl’s reckons they can #ChangeYourSkin in 28 days! Ok, I’m listening. They believe that in just 28 days my skin will look younger, healthier and blemish free. All I have to do is commit to using their top 5 anti-aging products and prepare to be wowed. Well, do you know what I say to that? BRING IT! Here’s to my 28 Day Kiehl’s #High5ToGreatSkin Challenge.

So, here goes. For the next 28 days I will be testing 5 Kiehl’s products and I will be sharing weekly updates of my journey with you. I can’t tell you how excited I am. My skin isn’t feeling on top of its game to be honest. The 5 Kiehl’s #High5ToGreatSkin products address 5 main issues – dryness, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and dehydration. Yip, I’m no stranger to any of these skin issues. I figure now that I’m ticking on to the wrong side of my 30s, it’s time to take some action.

I just got back from South Korea where I was living for the past few years. It was mid summer (humid & hot) and landed smack bang into the dry Winter of South Africa and so my skin has no idea what's going on.

Apart from dryness & fine lines, my biggest skin concern is pigmentation which I'm hoping these products are able to help me with. I can't wait to start using them and to share with you my thoughts and feelings on them and how they are making my skin look & feel.

This will be my first experience of the Kiehls brand but I have heard such great things about their products and can't wait to experience them first hand.

|| UPDATE: How my skin feels +-1 week on & how I've been using the products

I officially started using all 5 products for the past 5 days and am happy to report that I am LOVING them! No more tight skin throughout the day, just supple skin the stays well moisturised through out the day.
I have been continuing with my usual skincare routine (Korean beauty products from my time spent living in South Korea) which consists of:
-gentle face cleanser
-toner
-suncream (super important to use everyday, especially when using any products that contain high doses of Vitamin C!)

Morning:
After cleansing & toning my skin I start with the Kiehls Ultra facial Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. The hygiene seal is a little finicky as excess cream keeps getting caught outside the lid but I seem to have figured out a good system now. A little really goes a long way, and I can tell this eye cream is going to last a very long time. The cream sinks into my skin effortlessly and has really helped fill in the fine lines I have under and around my eyes. I'm looking forward to seeing how much of an improvement of fine lines I see in the next few weeks.

Next I apply the Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate. It's a rather thick texture which is harder to rub than other concentrates I've used before BUT I love the fact that it is thick as it leaves me skin feeling taught and mattified. I was worried my skin would be left feeling taught and dry but that hasn't been the case at all. I really love how plump and firm my entire face feels after using this cream.

Once that's been applied I use the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. It's a very runny oil which I LOVE! I love the fragrance and the texture, which does take a little getting used to as you have to work quickly to rub it in. It sets the Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate really nicely, but does require a few minutes to sink into your skin. I apply this over my entire face, and then use more to target my problem pigmentation areas by dabbing more serum onto those places.

After waiting a few minutes I then apply the Ultra Facial Cream which is a thick, white textured cream that is easily absorbed into the skin. I really like fragranced skin care items, and find the subtle smell of this cream to be a little off putting to me. But it goes away rather quickly and my skin is left supple and smooth.

Finally I apply my favourite suncream and let everything set for a few minutes before beginning my makeup routine.

Evening:
My evening routine is the same as the above, minus the suncream and with the addition of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate.
Straight after cleansing and toning I apply the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which has the most delightful, subtle lavender fragrance. It's perfect for bedtime and helps me relax and unwind from the day. This oil based serum takes a little time to be absorbed into the skin, but the process of massaging it all over my face is a very relaxing one and one I look forward to.

Then I add the eye cream, line reducing concentrate, dark spot solution & finally the ultra cream and then I'm ready for bed.

Since living in South Korea (and experiencing the world of Asian beauty) I am well accustomed to so many skincare steps (Korean women swear by the 10 Step Beauty Routine) so adding in these 5 skincare products hasn't been an issue for me. I do think some women might find it a it harder to adjust to putting so many creams and lotions on their skin, but you get used to it quickly and your skin will thank you for it!
I will keep you updated on how my skin changes throughout the next few weeks!

The instructions on the packaging weren't very helpful, simply stating to use the products after cleansing (an oil based product should go BEFORE a cream product...silly me) so I have adjusted my routine and am using the products in the following way now on:

Day 1:

My name is Roxy and I am 27 years old. I am a personal trainer and live a very healthy and active lifestyle!

As I near my 30's, looking after my skin has become one of my priorities! Knowing how todays harsh environment (pollution, sun damage, etc) has such a huge effect on my skin, it has become a necessity to take extra measures to ensure the health and longevity of my skin.

I am absolutely ecstatic that I've been chosen to participate this 28 day challenge to #ChangeYourSkin on 5 of Kiehl's top notch products.

Day 7:

After only using these products for a week i can confidently say that I'm blown away! I usually suffer with a very oily T zone and break outs around my chin. Since using these 5 miracle products my skin has shown no sign of oiliness or break outs. Also the blotchy red skin around my chin from regular break outs has become a lot less red with the spots almost competely gone. My skin also has an all over glow and youthfulness to it that it hasn't had before!

- Midnight Recovery Concentrate: At first I was worried about this product as it had a very oily feel to it when you apply it to your face but in the mornings, once it has absorbed over night, my skin looks vibrant and is not oily at all!

- Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution: I love the design of this bottle; with the dropper lid it makes it super easy to place the product only where it is needed. I have noticed a lovely improvement in the dark spots that once surrounded my chin area.

- Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing: The feel of this product is amazing on my skin. It has an almost silicone serum smooth feeling without leaving an oily residue on your face.

- Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo: At first I thought this product was an eye mask as it has a very thick and heavy feeling. But to my surprise it absorbs quickly and easily into the eye area and keeps my eyes looking bright and awake all day long.

- Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream: This is a great moisturising face cream for any time of the day. It also rubs on smoothly, you literally need to use a tiny amount and it absorbs quickly into the face and keeps my skin moisturised all day without any signs of oily areas.

I am honestly loving this product after only 7 days and can't wait to see the change in my skin over the next three weeks!

Day 21:

So its been 3 weeks since I started this challenge and boy oh boy am I obsessed with this #high5togreatskin range. I never thought that a product could make such a difference to, not just my skin, but my confidence levels too. Before I used to not even dream about leaving the house with no make up on and now I don't even consider putting on any foundation or cover stick :)

My skin never gets oily and has a new gleam about it. I honestly feel like a new (& younger) woman! I've attached pics of the progress on my skin, especially around the chin and my left cheek area (my problem areas that have inevitably got some scars). Although the scars are not completely gone (yet - and I have faith that continued use of this product will only yield more unbelievable results), they have reduced a lot and thats why I no longer feel the need to wear cover up!

Another thing I have noticed about using this product is that I haven't had any breakouts. This range definitely agrees with my skin :)

I am also so surprised (& relieved) that there has been no product build-up on my skin considering I am applying 4- 5 products to my face every morning and evening.

Clearly, overall, I LOVE this range and will definitely be using it in the future especially since Im not getting any younger and this product seems to hide that fact extremely well!

Day 28:

After a month of using these products I can safely say I am a convert. I now know that you need to take extra special care of your skin and always choose quality over quantity.

I have raved about these products since the start and I am still raving about them at the end (of the challenge, definitely not the end of my using these products). I still have had absolutely no break-outs EVEN THOUGH I have had a few stressful days which usually results in bad breakouts around my chin. My T-Zone issues have pretty much disappeared - which to me seems like a miracle as i have suffered with that my entire life! Lastly I have noticed that my pores are a lot less visible which in turn has created a more glowing and flawless look to my skin!

I absolutely love this brand and would definitely recommend it to everyone - from younger women looking to prevent and for older women looking to cure!

All I can say is, these products speaks for itself.

I was on busy making myself a cup of coffee this morning when our tea lady Beauty walks into the kitchen.
She looked at me and said but Elreza what's happening to your face?
I asked, but what do you mean what's happening to my face and she said..."Your face looks so light and beautiful"
Seriously I'm not joking..

This product absorbs quickly and feels as of my skin is relaxing after a day’s hard work.
It’s an oil that not oily at all and my skin looks so refresh in the morning.

2. Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
Wow the marks I have on my face actually are much lighter, I have an dark mark on my left cheek and it looks like it is fading.
3. Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing
This product has adds a warm feeling to my face and I can truly see a difference especially around the eye area. I look younger
4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo
The eye cream is a bit thick a little shiny at the beginning but absorbs eventually.
5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream
This leave my face moist and soft for the whole day.

Never have I seen any products that works this fast, the results so far is amazing my whole face is much lighter, softer, moist not oily at all.

INTRODUCTION
Between winter, a week of sleepless nights and a pretty stressful month; my skin is not looking its finest. The Kiehls and Beauty Bulletin #ChangeYourSkin campaign could not have come at a better time!
So what is the whole #ChangeYourSkin campaign about? Well Kiehls and Beauty Bulletin are so confident in the 5 iconic products from Kiehls (more on those later) that they have challenged myself and a few other beauties to use the products for 28 consecutive days and to document the improvements we see in our skins. The five products address five main conditions: dryness, uneven skin tone, dehydration, fine lines and wrinkles. I definitely suffer from three of those!

At the moment my skin is in a bit of a state and so I’m really holding thumbs that these Kiehls hero products live up to the hype! Even though my skin pretty dehydrated on any given day, it is even worse because of the dry winters that we have here in Johannesburg. I have slight pigmentation on my nose and my skin tone is quite uneven on my cheeks. And of course, let’s not forget those horrid fine lines that have made a home under my eyes.
Here is a quick brief on my Kiehls arsenal that I will be using over the next few weeks...

Midnight Recovery Concentrate (RRSP R755): I have used this miracle in a bottle before and I cannot rave about it enough Applied at night (when your skin’s cell renewal is more active), it works a minor miracle while you sleep; revealing smoother, more radiant skin in the morning. It is packed full of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals that dramatically restore the skin's health.
Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate (RRSP R825): When I saw this, I knew exactly where I would be applying it – all over my forehead and neck! I have seen a few fine lines creeping in and I am not happy about it! Over and above fighting fine lines and wrinkles, this serum is also said to improve the skins texture, tone and overall radiance. It also contains L- Ascorbic acid, also known as pure vitamin C. This is essential to produce collagen but also helps to brighten the skin and is a great anti-oxidant!
Clearly CorrectiveTM Dark Spot Solution (RRSP R700): This is a silicone-paraben-fragrance free serum that not only helps to lighten dark spots, it also helps prevent future ones from cropping up. Peony extract and Activated C work together to reverse the discoloration and improve skin clarity. Although I don’t have a lot of pigmentation, I do have a tiny bit on my nose from too many days spent outdoors without enough sunscreen, so I am very interested to see what happens there.
Ultra Facial Cream (RRSP R355): This super hydrating moisturiser has a very interesting ingredient sourced all the way from Antarctica: Glacial Glycoprotein Extract. What’s so special that this ingredient had to come all the way from Antarctica you ask? Well it has incredible protection against dryness, it is an amazing anti-oxidant, plus it helps to retain water in the skin, giving you 24 hour hydration. I’m pretty excited to plonk this onto my face.
Ultra facial creamCreamy Eye Treatment with Avocardo (RRSP R385): I’ve really been neglecting my under eye area recently and so I’m really hoping that this Kiehls eye treatment will perk it up. It is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested so should be fine for those with sensitive eyes. Avocado oil is known to be incredibly moisturising, combined with shea butter, this eye treatment sounds like a winner!

WEEK ONE
I'm officially one week into my Kiehls #ChangeYourSkin journey! I've been using five iconic products from Kiehls for a full seven days now - time for an update!

My skin has taken such a beating these past few weeks. Besides the normal dehydration thanks to the horrid dry weather here in Johannesburg, I have been incredibly stressed and that takes a massive toll on my skin in the form of breakouts. Having said that though, I have noticed that my skin isn't as dehydrated and flakey as it normally is around this time of the year, the texture is quite a bit smoother and it certainly feels a lot more plump so, so far, so good!
Here's a quick run down on my thoughts on the products, seven days in...

Midnight recovery concentrate: Man, oh man I love this product, definitely my favourite so far! I press a few drops of this concentrate into my skin every night before I hop into bed. It has such a relaxing scent that it has almost become a bit a relaxing bedtime ritual for me, especially with this ridiculously stressful time we've been going through. A little goes a long way so don't go crazy with it! I love the fact that it sinks into my thirsty skin almost immediately - no oil stained pillow cases, hooray! In the morning my skin is noticeably better- smoother, clearer and not as angry.
Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate: I've been slapping this wrinkle zapping concentrate all over my neck as a preventative measure. The consistency is quite thick but it literally melts into your skin as your apply it, making it feel quite luxurious. Because I don't have many pronounced lines or wrinkles it's hard to say if this product is making a difference but I am confident that it is hard at work behind the scenes!
Clearly CorrectiveTM Dark Spot Solution: This product really suprised me - I have been applying it to the tops of my hands as I have some sun damage there from driving and there has been a huge difference, I could kick myself for not taking photo's! I also apply the solution to my nose and the tops of my cheeks where I have some discolouration and because of the change I saw on my hands, I have high hopes for my face.
Kiehls dark spot solutionUltra Facial Cream: So often moisturisers leave my skin looking shiny and so it's not easy for me to find one that I love. That was not the case with the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream! It is light and airy on my skin but still floods it with hydration and it doesn't leave my skin looking like I could fry an egg on it. I really think that this moisturiser coupled with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate make and amazing hydration duo!
Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: The first time I used this eye treatment I used waaaay too much and my under eye area resembled an oil slick. So, like the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, a little goes a long way. The consistency is very interesting because even though it is quite thick and almost tacky, it isn't uncomfortable on the skin or feel thick and gloopy. I like that it stays put in the area that you apply it and doesn't end up sliding into your eyeball like so many eye creams do. Again, I think one week is a bit too soon to see a difference when it comes to the under eye area but I'm definitely enjoying using this product!

My skin concerns… how much time do you have?! The cold weather in Cape Town has change my skin from oily/combination to scaly and flaky. Almost in an instant. Add pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and enlarged pores to the mix and you get a big ol’ mess. I have really been struggling lately and I can’t wait to see what Kiehl’s can do for me.

WEEK 1: Loving Kiehl’s!
I mentioned on day 1 that my main skin concerns are dry, sensitive and flaky skin. Uhm… no more!!! After a week of using these Kiehl’s cult beauties, my skin is smooth, soft and glowing. I am so happy.

Here are my thoughts on each product…

KIEHL'S MIDNIGHT RECOVERY CONCENTRATE

I have been lucky enough to have tried this cult before and it is most definitely worthy of its status. The thin, non-greasy consistency makes it ideal for all skin types. Let’s hope it performs as well as I remember. Especially now that my skin is so dry.

Week 1: I wasn’t sure that this oil would pack the punch my skin needs right now, but it does! I use a little more than the recommended 3 drops and my skin loves it. Liquid gold I tell you. No more tight, flaky skin. I have been using it in the mornings too and my skin feels calmed and soothed the moment this glorious liquid touches my freshly cleansed skin. I think using it twice a day is exactly what my skin needed as this harsh Cape Town weather has not been kind to me.

Week 3: I have found my holy grail product for winter!! Day 1... dull, scaly, tight and uncomfortable. Day 21... smooth, soft, glowing skin!! I am over the moon. Using this oil twice a day has been my skin's saving grace!

Week 4: I couldn't be happier! This oil is magic. This light, easily absorbed liquid literally saved my face this winter. If you have environmentally stressed skin, this is the products you need to get. It soothes, calms, moisturises and nourishes even the driest and most sensitive of skins. It gets 11/10!!

KIEHL'S CREAMY EYE TREATMENT

I don’t use an eye cream. Honestly, I find most so overpriced that I just can’t justify the purchase. I am 38 though and my under eye area really needs some TLC. I can’t wait to see how this cream performs. I have only heard good things. I tried it last night and this morning and it feels super nourishing. I just need to be more careful when dipping into the tub… it is super thick and creamy and I keep on applying too much.

Week 1: This is the most nourishing eye cream I have ever used. It is very thick so you have to take your time to apply it to the delicate eye area. I can’t see much of a difference yet, but it feels good. Another plus is that my concealer applies like a dream. No caking at all!

Week 3: The longer I'm using this cream, the more I'm starting to love it. My under eye area definitely looks smoother and more hydrated. And it almost looks as though my crows feet are softening. Watch this space!

Week 4: Okay, I'm converted. I LOVE this eye cream. Crows feet have softened! I will not be able to go without Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment ever again.

KIEHL'S POWERFUL-STRENGTH-LINE-REDUCING CONCENTRATE

I tried a sample of this beauty when we still only had the pop-up store in Cape Town and I loved the feeling of the serum. Hey forehead lines! I’m coming for you! And YAY for the pump bottle.

Week 1: I love how warm this feels on my skin. This thick concentrate also has a lovely calming effect on my skin. My skin looks plump after application, but we will have to wait and see what it does to these lovely lines of mine. I’ll keep you posted.

Week 3: I thoroughly enjoy applying this serum. It feels incredible on my skin. It really looks as though my smile lines and '11' wrinkles are softening. I'm excited!

Week 4: 28 days in and I am very happy with my results. My laugh lines and '11' wrinkles are definitely less noticeable. I am over the moon. I am so excited to see what this serum will do with continued use. Well done Kiehl's!

KIEHL'S CLEARLY CORRECTIVE DARK SPOT SOLUTION

I think I may be most excited about this product. I have heard great things and I hope to experience amazing results as well. It feels great on my skin and I will let you know if I see results soon. Fingers crossed!

Week 1: It’s a bit too soon to see any changes in my dark spots, but my skin looks beautifully bright at the moment. It must be doing something! I really like that this serum feels very light on my skin and works well when combined with other products. I love that the bottle is clear and that it has a dropper… I don’t want to waste a single drop.

Week 3: I have 3 stubborn dark spots on my forehead that does not seem to want to lighten (yet!), but I apply this serum all over and my skin appears a lot brighter and more even toned than before.

Week 4: It seems as though the pigmentation spots that I have on my forehead are lightening! I am very impressed. These spots didn't just appear over night so I did not expect this serum to start making a difference in such a short amount of time. Overall my skin looks brighter and more even-toned. This is a winning product.

KIEHL'S ULTRA FACIAL CREAM

I tried this cream this morning and it feels lovely. My skin looks and feels good today. I’ll let you know how it goes. Bummer that it comes in a jar though.

Week 1: I have a lot of love for this moisturiser. I was worried that it would be a bit much after already applying quite a few other products, but it provides just enough hydration without feeling heavy at all. I think this cream would work well for most skin types. It is awesome.

Week 3: I am still so in love with this cream. It is probably the 'simplest' of the 5 products I am currently testing, but it is so effective. My skin soaks it up and is left feeling calmed and soothed. This is a must-have! My sensitive skin loves it.

Week 4: It is safe to say that I have not used many face creams that I love quite as much as I love the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream. It is such a simple product, yet it is so effective!! It is as though my face sighs with relief the moment this cream comes in contact with my skin. If you have sensitive skin, you will love it! I highly recommend this!

FINAL THOUGHTS ON DAY 28:

When I started this challenge, I was really struggling with skin that was sensitive, dry and environmentally stressed. Today I have soft, smooth, glowing, more even-toned skin. I don't really think I need to say more. Thank you Kiehl's and Beauty Bulletin!

DAY1: Skin Concerns and First Impressions

I am generally prone to breakouts, dark spots, uneven skin tone and blemishes and have tried many different products to improve my skin. Some products only provide temporary relief and others don't work at all. When I heard about the #ChangeYourSkin and #High5ToGreatSkin campaign I knew I had to try it.

Kiehl's has given me the opportunity to put their products to the test by using it for 28 days. They promise to improve skin dryness, uneven skintone, fine lines and wrinkles.

I received my products in the mail today. The package contained:
1. Midnight Recovery Concentrate R755

3. Dermatologist Solutions™ Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing R825
4. Creamy Eye Treatment with Avo R385
5. Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream R355

They seem like higher-end products and if you are on a budget it might be difficult for you to afford, but if you are serious about getting great skin it should not deter you.

The packaging looks professional and clearly indicates what you should expect from each product. There are also guidelines on how to use each product. The creamy eye treatment smells like avocado and has a very rich texture; the same consistency as mayonnaise. The dark spot remover looks and smells like something you would get at a pharmacy to treat a severe condition - can't wait to test it.The midnight recovery concentrate looks similar to the dark spot corrector, only this one smells like essential oils. The Line reducing concentrate looks like butter, and when I put a little on my skin it gave me a slight warming sensation - like as if putting warm butter.

Next Steps:
I will be testing these products during the next 28 days and will document every step. I am not familiar with their products so I am excited to give you an honest review. Here's to finally saying "High 5 to great skin!"

Week 1 Update: My Skin Changes and Thoughts on the Products

So I have had these products for a week now and I used them very religiously. I followed every instruction to the "tee". My skin looks visibly radiant than before and I can see that I'm glowing. People usually connect glowing skin to pregnant women, but I have had to tell many people that I am not pregnant, I've just used Keihl's products for the past week.

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution - this is absolutely my favourite! I did mention that I have a dark spot problem and wish I didn't have to use concealer to cover it up. I initially expected the solution to burn because most products I have come across burns, but this product is so gentle on the skin. I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to that my dark spots have reduced in just under a week!At first I thought I was imagining things, but then I looked at some before pictures and realised that my eyes are not deceiving me.

Ultra Facial Cream - my daily cream. It keeps my face moisturized throughout the day, especially now that it's very cold I need a cream that will properly moisturize my face. Just before starting with Keihl's I had a major breakout. The breakout was due to lack of moisture in the skin. I started using this product in the morning and evening and literally slashed the breakouts in half. I am looking forward to no breakouts soon. I also credit my glowing skin to this cream and the midnight concentrate.

Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate - I don't have a problem with fine lines or wrinkles, but I like to use this one as a preventative measure, kill those lines before they come! Each time I apply this one it feels like warm butter on my face, nice feeling.

Creamy Eye Treatment - I love the avocado smell. I use this one to moisturize the under eye area.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate - feels like a beauty treatment while you sleep. It keeps my face moisturized all night and when I wake up my face has a radiant glow.

In addition, I received the Clarisonic Mia2 and have been using it for a week. I am so worried because it gave me a lot of pimples on my cheeks, jawbone and around my mouth. I read that maybe it is acne that was already under the surface of my skin and I should give it a month. Let's see after one month.

Week 3 Update

I used the products for three weeks now and......AMAZING! Even the Clarisonic Mia 2 which I initially thought was a mistake turned out to purge all my acne in the end. Turns out I was using it all wrong. I changed my method by using it only once a week and by gently gliding the brush over my face and not using any force. All the pimples I mentioned in the previous update are gone!

The Kiehl's products are still working well for me. What's great is the Dark Spot Corrector prevented any new dark spots from forming when I had the pimple breakout.

I can't say that I have any major skin concerns other than my fear of wrinkles, really. I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle but stress and life can take its toll on the skin. During the cold winter months I'm a little more concerned with hydration - my skin becomes inflamed in winter and it's usually difficult for me to keep it under control. My priority is to get a handle on my skin, reverse the fine lines that have become apparent and establishing a healthy skin regimen.

Overall first impression:
I love that I can, at a glance, see exactly what each of the products are used for. The packaging is task appropriate and the branding is amazing. I also appreciate the fact that the tubs of cream have lids on the inside to minimise oxygen contact and exposure to bacteria.

Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

I don’t really pay much attention to the “freckles” (yeah right… they’re age spots, dummy) on my face, but I’m really looking forward to seeing them disappear now. This clear serum is ridiculously luxurious and a little goes a long way. I ended up with a pea size squirt in my hand and then applied it all over my face and neck.
1 Week after
I’ve been using it on my neck as well because we forget about the neck. And because I’ve noticed lately that the skin in my neck is not what it used to be, I’ve made a conscious effort to use the serum. I’m not sorry at all. I love it! I’m not completely out of the woods yet, but it’s only been a week and there’s plenty more serum to go around.

I should really learn how to use serums because I tend to slather it all over my face. This serum is rich in Vitamin C and the label says that you may feel tingling or a warm feeling when you apply it. I didn’t but, yay! Bring on the Vitamin C!

The Vitamin C serum is fantastic! It’s massively concentrated and now I can actually feel the tingling feeling. The only gripe I have with this is that it’s not idiot proof. I knocked over the bottle because I lack sense of awareness but I managed to save the majority of it. Luckily, you only use a tiny bit so even half a bottle will get you a good mile of dark spot removing.

Day 1
This is my favourite fave product of the bunch. I’m a huge essential oil fan. I applied it to my face, neck and décolletage right after my bath – just before bed. It smells amazing – like happiness and calm. It’s really the perfect pre-bed treat. My skin felt baby soft the next morning.

Still my fave! I love the smell more than anything and applying it at night is my favourite part of the day.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
Day 1
It even looks like creamy Avocado! I had to convince myself that it wasn’t. This one is a toughy to describe because I’ve never experienced a texture like this before. It’s creamy and almost waxy which means that a little goes a loooong way. Usually I have issues with eye cream in that it burns the skin or my eyes even, but I had no problems applying this one. I can’t wait to see the results.

The eye cream is so luxurious. Little trick – if you have some time on your hands, slather on some eye cream and let it do its magic while you do your thing. After just one week, I can already see an improvement in my tiny eye wrinkles.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream
Day1
For someone who suffers from winter skin, this cream comes as a much needed relief from dryness and flakiness (not to mention the burning). I applied it after my morning gym shower (which is normally hot) and it calmed my inflamed skin right down. I didn’t even have to apply base!!!!
1 Week after
The moisturiser, because there’s so much of it, I’ve been using as a face mask when I get home in the evenings and I take my bath. I don’t even use a lot at a time but it’s so rich that you can slather some on your face and use it as a mask.

I've never been much of a maven when it comes to skincare – I think it's got to do with the fact that I've never really experienced bad skin in my 23 years of life; no puberty-induced acne (praise the universe!) and no adulting or stressed-induced breakouts either. Honestly, the only "breakouts" I've had in the past two years are probably one or two recurring pimples here and there, but I've never had a skin issue so serious it required expert advice or a strict, prescribed skin regimen. So yes, I've been quite lucky in that area however one skin concern that's become quite prominent for me in the last five years is pigmentation – an issue that annoyingly runs in my family and one I can't seem to kick.

It's common knowledge that the sun plays a huge role in signs of pigmentation, which is why we're often told to apply a high protection sunscreen daily, as this assists in preventing further damage. But I have a makeup routine that consists of probably 20 individual products and sometimes I honestly forget about this step. Which is why I've become a junkie for SPF-infused makeup products, as I've convinced myself that these will make up for the days I forget to apply sun cream – but truthfully, they never do. And now overtime the dark spots on the sides of my face have worsened and I'm completely to blame for this.

Last month Kiehl's South Africa got in touch with me about participating in their #ChangeMySkin campaign, which will take place over the course of four weeks from 18 July to 19 August. The criteria? I maintain a consistent daily skincare routine using five of their cult products in aim to combat my issues with pigmentation and to help banish my dark circles fast.

With this campaign I'll not only get an opportunity to transform my skin, but I'll also be able to give you all full access to my Kiehl's journey. Once a week I'll upload a review on the products, providing insight on any changes my skin has experienced along the way. Week 1 Update: Impressions So Far and Skin Changes

*Just a side note, the mini reviews below are written in the order in which I apply the products.

FIRST WEEK IMPRESSIONS

1 Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

Two factors to keep in mind about this serum:
1) It's water-based, so it's incredibly light in feel and it absorbs effortlessly into skin.
2) It contains vitamin c – a key ingredient in the correction of dark spots.

A little fun fact for skincare newbies or beginners – vitamin c is an amazing antioxidant, honestly, google it – you'll find thousands of studies and reviews affirming and attesting it as a great way to help reduce skin discolourations, particularly those caused or worsened by sun exposure. Kiehl's Dark Spot Solution not only promises to even out existing dark marks, but it also claims to prevent any 'new discolourations' from forming. Out of the entire range, this is the product I'm most excited to explore, as dark spots are my biggest concern right now. So far, there hasn't been much of a change in the appearance of the dark patches on the sides of my face and mouth, but I'm crossing fingers they'll begin to fade after week 2.

2 Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate

As of now, wrinkles aren't an issue for me, however that doesn't mean I should disregard the idea or thought of ageing skin, as it's often recommended that young women start an anti-ageing regime from as early as your mid-20s. Right now the only fine lines I have are around my mouth area – I usually refer to these as "expression lines" – and even though they aren't prominent, they do get annoying when I have makeup on. After awhile my foundation starts to fill in-between these lines, forming visible creases. So I apply this concentrate quite significantly around this area.

Texture and/or Feel

Because of the high dose of Vitamin C in it, it's said that when applied your skin may experience a warm or tingling sensation. The weird thing is that I never felt this until I applied the Midnight Recovery Concentrate or Ultra Facial Cream afterwards. Because the lines on my face are so fine, it'll probably take much longer for me to see improvement in their appearance. The one thing I love about this concentrate is that my skin immediately looks brighter and feels more supple after applying. The glycerin in the formula may be responsible for this – as this is an active ingredient that draws moisture into the skin.

3 Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado Oil

Hands down, my favourite product out of the entire range. Under-eye circles are a huge problem for me – I've tried many eye creams in the past but this one is a definite winner.

The eye area is one of the most fragile areas on the face, and this is because the skin under our eyes is quite delicate when compared to the skin around our cheeks and forehead, which is relatively much thicker. The under-eye area usually requires a good amount of TLC and this cream succeeds in achieving this. It instantly replenishes the area, leaving you with a softer and brighter skin texture, and more diminished under-eye circles.

Texture

It's extremely rich and creamy, thanks to the avocado oil and shea butter found in the formula. My under-eye circles have gotten better since I began using this treatment, but they still have a long way to go.

4 Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This oil smells like an absolute dream, my goodness! It's a facial oil intended for only nighttime use to help replenish, repair and restore your skin's appearance as you sleep. The great thing about using this oil regularly is that I now wake up to soft skin every morning. In winter, my skin becomes a lot drier in texture, so I love that I now have a solution that provides persistent hydration and moisture hold for 7 hours or more.

Texture and/or Scent

This is a non-greasy, lightweight oil that feels as soft as silk and absorbs into skin easily. The scent? A beautiful blend of Lavender Essential Oil, an oil known for it's healing properties – both physical and emotional. Lavender helps reduce skin irritations and inflammations, and in aromatherapy, it's often used to relax the body and calm the mind.

5 Ultra Facial Cream

Is it weird that I always look forward to applying this to my skin? It's the texture that gets me. What makes this cream unique is that it's made to provide sufficient moisture to the skin barrier when its exposed to harsh weather conditions. So ideally, it's the perfect type of face moisturiser to use in winter time. It not only supplies a great amount of hydration but it also retains moisture. The Desert Plant Extract is responsible for it's incredible water retention properties. As you apply you this, your skin instantly feels cooler and smoother after each layer.

How my skin has changed so far...

I've definitely noticed that my skin now looks a bit brighter and feels much softer. In the no-makeup selfie images below, the bottom right image was taken a week before I began the Kiehl's challenge. When compared to the other two images (top and left), which were taken yesterday, you can see a noticeable difference in my skin's texture. It now has a soft, dewy radiance to it, which I'm really happy about, however there hasn't been a drastic change in my dark marks yet.

Kiehl's has allowed us to put their products to the test by challenging us to use 5 iconic products that target dryness, uneven skin tone, dehydration, fine lines and wrinkles in 28 days.

My skin concerns: I am usually prone to breakouts which have minimized over the past couple of months but at the moment I have been struggling with very dehydrated skin, of course with it being winter and as a result, my eczema has gotten worse around my nose and chin area. I have slight pigmentation around my cheekbones and am prone to hyper pigmentation as most of us are living under the very hot African sun. I may be 25 years of age but it doesn't mean I am not struggling with those fine lines around the eye and mouth area. Products that claim to assist in having effective results for those particular issues always stand out for me as I am someone who is extremely particular with my skins issues and the products I use on my skin.

First impression: After cleansing my skin, I immediately apply the Powerful-Strengh Line-Reducing concentrate (twice/day) as I am very aware that aging can begin in your 20's if you are not looking after your skin,. This product claims to visibly decrease the appearance of lines and wrinkles with a continuous delivery of pure vitamin C at 10,5%. I will definitely be monitoring the fine lines around my eyes and mouth with this product. It does have a slightly tingling effect that isn't of any discomfort at all. This formula has a very lightweight and comfortable silicone like texture that is absorbed by the skin quickly.
I move onto the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot solution thereafter as it claims to rapidly correct dark spots and discolorations. This will help me to treat those slight signs of pigmentation caused by the UV exposure and post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation. I use 3 drops (day only) of this lightweight fluid formula and softly warm it into my skin with the palms of my hands.

Once I have applied my serums I allow them to penetrate the skin for a good couple of minutes before I apply my Ultraviolet Facial cream (day & night) which claims to leave the skin feeling comfortable and well-balanced, as well as protect the skin from cold and dry conditions which is perfect for us experiencing the cold and dry weather at the moment. I was really in need of a good moisturizer with a lightweight texture that didn't leave me feeling greasy and upon first impression, it was soothing, comfortable, hydrating and non-greasy.

One of my favorites and must have is the Creamy Eye treatment with avocado, which moisturises the delicate eye area. I tend to have a very dry eye area and I have actually used this product before, in fact, it is one of the first eye creams I began using consistently. It gives an instant moisture boost to the eye area. I'm so happy to be able to continue using this as part of my skin care regime as I know the powerful effect it has. I apply a small amount (day & night) to my ring fingers and gently tap it around the outer eye area not going directly under the eye.

Last but not least the Midnight recovery concerntrate, a replenishing elixir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals that visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning. I LOVE this product, another one of my favorites and must have from Kiehl's. I first came to know about this amazing little blue bottle when I was working in cosmetics. I was experiencing breakouts, dull and tired skin at the time and this product did exactly what it said, I have bought 2 of these bottles prior to this review because it's that good. I use this at night just before my moisturizer, I apply 3 drops and warm it into my skin using the palms of my hands.

I am over joyed and excited to be able to put 2 of my already favorite must have Kiehl's products into action with the rest of the High 5 range. Can't wait to see the results. Stay tuned as I document what these products have done for me and could do for you too.

WEEK 1 (Day 7): Product review and my skins developments

Wow it's already been a week with the Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin campaign and 3 words that would sum up this whole experience so far? I LOVE IT!

#High5ToGreatSkin it is indeed but to be honest I really didn't doubt this product from the moment I received it.

My skin feels healthy, hydrated, rejuvenated, glowing and youthful. Everything us as woman are constantly on the search for. I received a compliment today on how great and glowy my skin is looking. So that compliment for me is my testimonial in a nutshell.

Products in order of how I use them:

1. Powerful-strength Line-Reducing Concentrate: This powerful anti-wrinkle treatment contains 10.5% Vitamin C hence the slight tingle or warm sensation you might experience when applying the product. It is clinically demonstrated to improve overall skin texture and my oh my did I notice a difference, the first thing I have noticed with this product is the texture of my skin but most importantly the improved appearance of my pores. My skin is noticeably smoother.

2. Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution: A fast-acting serum that diminishes dark spots and visibly evens skin tone. This product for me hasn't shown major results as I don't have serious pigmentation as of yet and you know what they say, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but I do still use this consistently regardless, why? Because prevention is better than a cure. So in order to prevent hyper-pigmentation, dark spots and scarring from developing I do not skip this product in my routine.

3. Ultra facial cream: A 24 hour daily face moisturizer. Perfect for the cold and dry winter months. WOW, I love this moisturizer! Prior to using this product my skin was dehydrated and lacking that moisture it so badly needed, with it being winter, I dove right into this cream. It was an instant moisture boost, it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy but replenished my skins moisture instantly. My skin is glowing and looking much healthier. I believe it has a lot to do with this moisturizer.

4. Creamy eye treatment: A creamy moisturizing eye treatment formulated with avocado oil. This is my GO TO, MUST HAVE eye cream. The first time I used an eye cream consistently was this beauty right here. A quick-burst release of moisture! Absolutely! My eye area has never looked better and more healthy thanks to this.

5. Midnight recovery concentrate: A replenishing nighttime facial oil with distilled botanicals that visibly restores the appearance of skin by morning. Again I am such a fan of this and of the Kiehl's brand in general as they consistently deliver amazing products like this one. My first encounter with this product is pretty much the same as it was now again. This is definitely another product within the range that has contributed to the glowing and beautiful texture my skin has developed. The minute you apply this product, you can feel and smell it's amazing and soothing properties that it offers to your skin, it's beautiful scent alone will leave you feeling revitalized. Once I wake up, I already notice such a difference in my skins appearance.

DAY 21 (WEEK 3):
My journey with the Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin #High5ToGreatSkin in 28 days has been nothing short of amazing. I am extremely impressed with the results from the 5 CULT products that we were given to test. Did they surpass my expectations? Absolutely. I have always been a fan of the Kiehl's products for some time and this specific range together has made me fall in love with the brand yet again.

Products that consistently deliver is exactly what Kiehl's represents. From the serums to the moisturizer, each product in this range tackles specific skin needs to give an overall even, smooth and glowing appearance to the skin. Which is what I myself have been able to achieve. One product that really stood out for me was the powerful-strength line-reducing concentrate which visibly reduced the appearance of my pores and fine lines around my eyes, lips and forehead, which contains 10,5% vitamin c. I have quite a sensitive skin and had no break outs or allergic reactions to any of the products in the range.

I would highly recommend this entire range as it is to everyone I come across because it is that good and does perform impeccably well. Prior to this campaign, my skin was extremely dehydrated and lacking suppleness. I noticed results within the first week but 3 weeks later and it's probably in the best condition it has ever been.

Final thoughts:

1. Powerful-strength Line-Reducing Concentrate: I was pleasantly surprised by this product the most as it showcased what it can really do for my skin. Fine lines were improved, pores and overall texture was a lot smoother

2. Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution: I've said it and will say it again, prevention is better than a cure with this specific product. Great for anyone struggling with pigmentation and scarring from blemishes/acne.

3. Ultra facial cream: Great for dehydrated skin, that is in dire need of around the clock moisture. My skin is a lot more supple thanks to the hydrating properties of this amazing one of a kind facial moisturizer.

4. Creamy eye treatment: An eye cream that deserves its own stage. Still impressed with the quality and quantity of this instant moisture boosting eye cream. It has surpassed my expectations since day 1 of use and still continues to until today. My eye area has never looked this healthy thanks to this staple eye cream right here.

5. Midnight recovery concentrate: Has contributed to the glowing and beautiful texture my skin has developed. Waking up to visibly replenished skin is what most of us try to achieve with recovery oils and this one sure is on the top of the must have list.

Beautiful skin requires commitment not a miracle and so the new Kiehl’s 28 Day Challenge couldn’t have come at a better time.

Dark spots and uneven skin tone are my nemesis. I am always on a quest to find a solution in an effort to correct these concerns, however, I am yet to try a regimen as extensive as the one put forward by Kiehl’s and Beauty Bulletin.

At 25, concerns about ageing have also started to manifest and so products that tackle early signs as well are top on my list to try.

Just after cleansing and toning, I will look to the Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solution™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution to help correct and ultimately prevent any future dark spots and skin discolorations. I am using this first, as I want it to work the hardest therefore I need it closest to my skin. I have recently had a few breakouts on my right cheek so I am interested to see how it will perform. For now, it is a pleasant lightweight serum to use all over the face at both morning and night. It has no fragrance and I have not experienced any irritation.

I’ll then be treating my skin with the Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solution™ Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. I’ve been using it for a couple of days and I already love the texture of my skin. Upon my first application, I experienced a tingling sensation and this was obviously due to the high level of activated vitamin C in the bottle. At 10.5%, this powerful anti-wrinkle treatment will work to improve overall skin texture, tone and radiance while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. I am also happy to use this above my Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solution™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution as it does have quite a high percentage of Vitamin C and it won’t have a difficult time penetrating any barrier that may have been created.

Next comes a cult classic from the brand, the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I’m a fan of this replenishing oil already so I was quite excited to find that it would be a part of this challenge. Besides the fact that my skin feels smoother and healthier by morning, I also get a restful night of sleep thanks to the presence of lavender essential oil in the formula. I love to press this against the core areas of my face then proceed to massage it into my skin.

In the mornings, I’ll be giving the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate a skip and jump straight to my Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream. Another concern of mine is dry/dehydrated skin. With it lacking moisture, I tend to sometimes appear dull and in need of replenishment. This facial cream works to help reduce loss of moisture while also drawing and absorbing moisture from the air. I'm enjoying the fact that it's light textured, doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy therefore making it easy to apply primer and makeup right afterwards.

Back to my nighttime routine, after using my Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream I reach for my final product in this regimen and that is the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado. This may be my favourite of all the products mentioned in this post. It is a thick eye cream and very little goes a long way. I pick up a tiny bit of product with my ring fingers, massage them together and then gently tap and massage along my orbital bone. It’s a treat to use before bedtime especially as that burst of hydrating is absorbed into the skin.

1. Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solution™ Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
My dark spots on my cheek area aren't as prominent as they were on day one. However, I have had two new (hormonal) breakouts in that same area since then so we have a couple more spots to clear up! *sigh* I'm continuing to love the consistency and the texture of the CCDSS so I'm hopeful I'll see a greater difference at the end of the 28 day period.

2. Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solution™ Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
My skin feels plump and I believe it may be due to this concentrate. While I don't have many visible lines or wrinkles, I do believe its doing the groundwork beneath the surface.

3. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Consider this my new sleeping agent ;) I look forward to applying this at night and when I wake up the next morning, my skin feels replenished. Such a treat!

4. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizing Cream
I am loving this cream for everyday use. I have a dry u-zone so I love what the presence of Glacial Glycoprotein and desert plants does for hydration and moisture. I'm using this both morning and night, however, most nights I opt for a saturated face of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate alone followed by...

5. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
I knew this would be my favourite of the bunch. I'm loving what its doing for my under eye area. It feels super hydrated thanks to Avocado Oil but it is of such a concentrated texture that it doesn't migrate into my eyes. A little goes a long way so love, love, love!

I have noticed a significant improvement in the overall appearance and texture of my skin. As you recall in my first impressions post I had just recently suffered a bout a acne which is very uncommon for me so my stress levels were somewhat high. I used all the High 5 To Great Skin products in an attempt to reduce the dark spots and pigmentation that had developed post-acne. I also changed up the order in which I use the products just to see if I would see results quicker.

I used the Kiehl's Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate after a thoroughly cleansed face and before any other of the 5 products. At this point the tingling sensation was gone and I truly loved applying it. The consistency of the concentrate and the texture of my skin post-application was amazing.

I now follow this with the Kiehl's DS Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution and I spread this all over my face, not just in targeted areas. Midnight Recovery is next and I am super generous with it. It's still one of my favourite of the 5 products and the glow of my skin upon waking up in the morning is incredible.

For both morning and night I use the Ultra Facial Cream, once again it has a light enough texture yet hydrates and moisturises for at least 24 hours. It's such a treat to use and this is definitely something I will be repurchasing. It has also helped improve the texture of my skin. My final step is still the Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment and I keep falling in love with the formula over and over again. The burst of hydration along the orbital bone is what I look forward to the most and I have noticed an improvement on my under eye area.

We have both never used this concentrate before but it got us excited with the fact that it contains Vitamin C which is important for its anti-ageing properties. Watch this space!

4. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution
We have heard so much about this product and are looking forward to seeing what its brightening and radiance boosting properties can do for our skin.

5. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Midnight Recovery Concentrate: We can both say that our hero product is the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. A real skin thirst quencher indeed!

Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate:
ZOE: Love, love the texture of this product and it definitely gave my forehead a 'smoother' appearance. I know now that I need to apply less and maybe only use it every second day until my skin becomes comfortable with it.
CATHI: I can actually see the difference in my skin which looks brighter and fresher!

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution:
ZOE: Also a great feeling product which absorbed almost instantly and didn't leave a film when dry. Unfortunately it didn't lighten my large dark spot on my temple as much as I wished it would.
CATHI: There is a slight difference in my dark spots and am hoping with continued use they will disappear completely.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream:
ZOE: I love this simple moisturiser that is so refreshing on the skin. It was also one of my favourites to apply after a long day and after my shower. It felt so soothing and is really hydrating. It is thin and absorbs immediately too without leaving a greasy feel.
CATHI: This lightweight textured moisturiser scored high in my books for its hydrating properties and for rapid absorption. Just as well the 28 days challenge is over as I am embarrassed to admit I finished the tub, using dollops of it on my decollete and neck!

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment:
ZOE: This is one eye cream that I have always had my eye on! I will continue to buy this and will always recommend it to others as it is seriously a great under eye hydrator.
CATHI: I echo Zoe's sentiments with regard to this eye cream - it is extremely hydrating and nourishing.

For the #ChangeYourSkin challenge, I'm going to try all five Kiehl's CULT products for 28 days.

I've just finished a course of Accutane and I occasionally do Retin-A treatments, on top of that its winter so my skin at the moment is dry, tight, and sensitive. I'm also seeing early signs of aging like fine lines around my eyes and a stubborn dark spot on my temple.

With these 5 products, I'm hoping to see the dark spot on my temple lightened, improved moisture and elasticity, and reduced fine lines.

As someone who tries my best to follow a mostly natural diet, I started to think about what I was putting onto my skin as well. I put a lot of effort into eating plant-based, natural foods, and then I realised that my skin deserves the same. Kiehl's products are scientifically formulated using only the highest quality naturally-derived ingredients, which is better for your skin. It's the perfect balance between nature and science.

If you have sensitive skin, harsh chemicals in skin care products can increase irritation, causing damage to your skin in the long run. The mild, natural ingredients in Kiehl's products makes them suitable for even the most sensitive.

I have now been using the products for 5 days and my standout favorites so far are the Creamy Eye Treatment, Midnight Recovery Oil, and the Ultra Face Cream.

Creamy Eye Treatment

Week 1: I've been using the Creamy Eye Treatment for two years now. I always had commitment issues with skin care products. I could never stick to one brand, there was always something newer and better to try. But after I tried the Creamy Eye Treatment, all of that changed and I never looked at another eye treatment again. One pot of this will last you 6 months, so it's well worth the hefty price tag. The texture is divine, and it doesn't migrate into your eyes. I use it two ways; at night as an eye mask, or in the morning to rejuvenate the skin under my eyes. I notice an immediate improvement in the appearance of fine lines around my eyes.

Week 3: I could never look back from this eye cream. As much as it delivers exceptional moisture for my winter skin concerns, it is simultaneously fresh and light which means I can use it all year round as my skin concerns change.

Ultra Facial Cream

Week 1: This product was tested by a team of explorers who trekked through Greenland and it promises to be the ideal product for tight and dry winter skin. It manages to be simultaneously lightweight and packs a moisture punch. So gentle and mild, it's suitable for even the most sensitive skin. I use this in the mornings and my skin drinks it up, the result is instantly radiant and healthy looking skin.

Week 3: I have been carrying this beauty in my bag, ready to go anytime throughout the day when my skin needs a refreshing boost. This cream is also ideal to mix with strobe cream, or foundation for dewy looking skin.

Line Reducing Concentrate

Week 1: I can see that marionette lines will be something I will develop later on, so I'm happy to see that this product tackles just that, as well as forehead and lip lines, and overall texture. It contains 10,5% pure vitamin C, which is an active ingredient I always look for in a product. I use this every second night, alternating it with the Midnight Recovery Oil, and I notice a warming sensation as the product sets to work. I consider this product to be a preventative treatment for women in their 20's, as deep wrinkles aren't a concern for us yet.

Week 3: At first I didn't notice it, but as mentioned in my video review I am astounded by the instant improvement in texture when I use this concentrate. It smooths skin beautifully, I honestly didn't expect such an instant and significant improvement. In my video review, I said that I'm not a fan of layering products, so I alternate this with the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, but I have since tried using both twice a week as a treatment and I was pleased with the results. Both are absorbed well and don't feel heavy on my skin. I still wouldn't layer them every night.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Week 1: I'm totally hooked on this oil, and not only because of its exceptional moisture replenishing properties but also because of the Lavender scent which aids in relaxation and a good nights sleep. It's a great product to add to your nightly routine. The best time to apply an oil is at night when skin naturally repairs itself. This demonstrates Kiehl's approach to working with nature to improve your skin.

Week 3: Still a favorite of mine since day 1. Lightweight, nourishing, and relaxing are the three words i would use to describe this product. I really look forward to using it at night.

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution

Week 1: The Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is part of my morning routine, I apply onto a clean face and I let it settle for a minute or two. At night, I apply a little directly to my dark spot just to deliver an extra bit of vitamin C to help it fade. It's a non-sticky, lightweight formula that feels like a second skin. Next, I apply the Ultra Facial Cream or my sunscreen. I expect to see an improvement of dark spots later on in the challenge.

Week 3: I love this product, I've been using it twice a day. I've upped the amount I use of this in the hopes of seeing an improvement in my pesky dark spot. I still don't see a difference but expect that my dark spot is sun damage induced and would require a stronger treatment.

Overall outcomes:

- Continued improvement in fine lines around eye area
- Improvement in texture
- Marked improvement in dryness, redness, and soreness from winter weather
- No drastic improvement in dark spots
