I am a very fussy person, so naturally I am very choosy and particular when it comes to my choice of cosmetics, perfumes, lotions and potions. I have a very eclectic taste and often prefer the dominating scent of something strong and masculine whilst on another occasion I revel in the scent of something crisp and fresh. The one common factor in all my choices is the quality of product used.
I am not fan of T.V show, movie and novel related paraphilia especially not in my cosmetic purchases. I was graciously given this perfume from Beauty Bulletin in part of their shoot, share, and win competition. Although I am so grateful for this perfume, it is not something I would purchase for myself. Quite ironically, I have not been able to hunt down this scent at any retailer yet and am still searching on every visit to the mall.
The packaging is very Gossip Girl with its baby pink box with black siluhete of New York. There isn’t much writing on the box and whatever is written is done in a combination of a darker pink and black. I assume there are different variations in the Gossip Girl range of scents as this one is called SPOTTED! For a show so glamorous and up-to-date on all thing fashion, I would’ve liked to see a more sophisticated and luxurious box. The bottle answered my longing for some refinement as it gleamed and shone in my hand. It’s a very elegant and beautiful glass bottle that holds the light pink perfume. The bottle is a longer slimmer version of the Diesel Love dose perfume, the lid is a rectangle on the top of the circular base. There’s a beautiful silver jewelled ring around the nape of the lid. For something so upper-east side, the ring should’ve been metal and not plastic and should actually be used as a ring to be worn after the perfume is used. The perfume had a cell phone charm around its neck. The charm literally was a little silver and purple cell phone, lol, I do not find this Blaire or Serena worthy at all.
The perfumes colour is absolutely flirty and girly, and adds some sparkle to this otherwise mundane packaging. The scent is quiet sweet and rosey with a powder under-tone. On application I found it to be a tad sickly and the scent sat at the back of my throat with every breathe I took; after about an hour or two the scent dissipated into a much calmer bouquet of scent. After the initial two hours the scent dissipates further till it’s reminiscent of a sweet flowery powder; this I must add is the one time I love this perfume. At this stage the smell is soft, not over powering and feminine. I did find that the perfume is quiet long lasting and goes into different stages of the scent it emits over time. The next day my watch strap still had a very faint scent of this perfume on it.
I’ve used this perfume for a whole week, as to properly acquaint myself with its scent and be able to give an honest realistic review. I unfortunately am not sold on this perfume and prefer the pink comfort of my Valentino, Rodriguez and Moss scents. My little sister loves when I have perfumes and hair gizmo’s as she always scores when I no longer have a use for my many products. She absolutely adores this fragrance and loves wearing it daily for school. This led me to believe that the perfume isn’t bad at all; it’s just merely not suited for someone who is of a higher maturity.
This perfume is perfect for a teen as it captures their spirit of adventure, romance and lust for enquiry. Thank you BB for the opportunity to review this scent and open my mind to trying new things that I might not have otherwise, although it wasn’t my cup of tea this time round (I’m a coffee person lol ;) my sister is ever so grateful and chuffed at her new pink perfume and fun cell charm :) .
