Essence Waterproof Gel Eye Liner

I am an essence cosmetic fan and I find their products to be great quality and to be cost effective. I am used to wearing kajal on a daily and it always tends to smudge by 2pm when my energy levels drop, weird pronomina. I have been using the essence eyeliner for 2 months now and I have not regretted it. The liner is waterproof and does not smudge and glides on easily and stays in tact all day.

I been hunting for ages for a eyeliner that will outlast my busy day. Most run by the afternoon making me look like a crazy mum.

The gel eyeliner by essence proved that it was sweatproof as well. It's really affordable and it gave some more expensive brands a run for their money.

I use this product every single day and I'm simply inlove with the easy glide on application.

Waterproof gel eyeliner
The liquid eyeliner is small and pencil shaped. It is of plastic material and retractable eyeliner!
It has a creamy consistency on application. It does not smudge, therefore, you will be looking good all day long and it is also so affordable.
It really does last 8 hours so there is no more need to carry make up around in my bag to do touch ups during the day. It is very long lasting.

I bought this product with the purpose of trying out a more neutral eye. What a fail! I have always used the essence long lasting eye pencil however they did not have it in a brown, and so I went for the gel eye pencil.

The packaging is fantastic. It is in a retractable, easy to clean ,plastic,pencil shaped packaging.

I tried to use it on my eyes but it wasn't pigmented at all.

I then decided to use it as an eyebrow pencil and it worked perfectly!

Is it a terrible product in general? Not really. But for its intended use it sucks! So I would recommend it to someone else as an eyebrow pencil, but not as an eyeliner.

This eyeliner is absolutely good, it's soft and long lasting, whilst still being friendly on the pocket as I purchased it for R28.95 at Dischem.
I will be purchasing this brand again as they don't compromise on quality but still make their products affordable for all.

A big Koodoo's to Essence for this eyeliner

My beautiful mom introduced me to this product. We are big Essence fans, and the Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Black Fever and Hot Chocolate are the only eyeliners I use. After she showed me hers, I went out and got mine in the same shade: 06 Cocoa Bean.

Two things:

1) The pigmentation of this pencil is intense. One smooth line delivers a clear line of rich colour.
2) The formula is divine. As with most good gel liners I have tried, the formula is soft but not smudgey, and simply glides on.

Because it is waterproof, I would recommend this product for those who struggle with watery eyes, or if you want to glam it up at a pool or beach party.

This is fairly new to my collection .They only had black and silver so I got the black .
I am so impressed with how easy this is to apply.
I think I paid R28.95 or some where along those lines .

I am happy that it is waterproof and does not smudge and leave you looking like raccoon half way through the day.

This brand is really up coming keep a look out for their products as they never seem to disappoint.

Great eyeliners, many shades to choose from. They are soft, smooth and pigmented. I only use eyeliners from essence.

the product is great for quick and perfect application specially for beginners or those with shaky hands. it dries fast and last the whole day which makes it worth your while.

I have always been a Kohl girl, I have never really tried any other type of liner but have been hearing a lot about Gel Eyeliners and was in the market for a new black liner. My main problem with most liners is that they smear and rub off quickly and never stay looking nice. I really didn't want to spend a lot of money but wanted something that would stay in place an keep looking fresh all day. I looked around and was shocked at some of the prices of Gel liners but then saw that Essence had one for just under R50. I decided to give it a try. I got the 01 Black Blaze and this is my third day using it and it is absolutely awesome. I have no smudging and the line is clean and neat. It keeps my eyes defined all day. The application takes a little bit of getting used to because this particular pencil doesn't glide on as smoothly as my usual Kohl liner but once I had figured out the pressure then it was easy. it's a roll out so there is no sharpening, I am let to see how long it lasts but mostly I enjoy not having to sharpen it. This is a great starter gel liner and probably one that I will always have in my makeup bag. Love it. I may even give winged eyeliner a try now.

I got this product in 01 Black Blaze. I love the soft smooth texture of this pencil and the fact that it is retractable. It goes on smoothly on both the upper and lower lashline. I was really happy about the fact that it didn't smudge. It's an affordable product that is definitely worth a try.

I rarely stray from my Rimmel eyeliner, yet this is just as good!

This didn't work for me ,maybe because i have extra watery lash lines. I was disappointed because Essence has never before failed me but when a certain product doesn't work for me ,I find other uses for it .so this became my brow filler and it works quite well in that department .

This product is amazing! I actually swear by it...
It fits in my bag and its as easy to apply as a pencil but gives a matte finish.

These are definitely one of the best eyeliners ever!! Not only are they super affordable but they glide on effortlessly!! I love the array of colours they have in the range as well.

Essence has always been one of those budget friendly brands that just seems to get things right well most of the time , every brand has some or other products that don't quite work for everyone!

I ran out of eyeliner a few days ago and since my local Clicks did not have my usual eyeliner - the great Maybelline Master Smoky Shadow Eye Pencil in Smoky Black (which I use in my waterline as well as on my outer eye because it is that awesome) - I had to opt for something else.
I was quite sad to have not repurchased my favourite but I was also excited to try something new. As I walked around the store I stopped at the Essence counter, naturally, and as per usual scrutinised the entire thing.

This was when I happened upon the new (to me if not most) Essence's Gel Eye Pencil and instantly I thought score. I just needed black for now so I got the Black Blaze and promises myself I would be back for more colours later.

So about the product, it is a waterproof gel eyeliner in the form of a a retractable pencil. The thin twist-up eye pencil swivels up to a tapered point and is said to glide easily along upper and lower lids.

According to the Essence website the liner is the latest trend from Asia: gel eyeliner in a pen-shape. "Instead of in a tub, the soft, waterproof and long-lasting texture of the gel eye pencil waterproof comes in a retractable pen. Velvety and highly-pigmented, these pens offer intensive eyeliner styles."

It comes in six shades: black blaze, around midnight, urban jungle, gunmetal, blue lagoon and cocoa bean and is available at your local Clicks and Dischem stores and online at Spree for about R35 to R45.

The gel-like consistency of the pencil makes it glide on lids like a dream, and it doesn't melt away. However, I didn't find it too great on my waterline, it didn't seem to stick too well and despite being very soft and pliable and waterproof it just didn't stick.

I like it enough to keep using it for the outer lid lining but alas I am still waterlinerless.
