Essence - Stay All Day Foundation

This foundation is perfect in every way. Smooth, grate coverage, for natural of full coverage. Smells divine. I would recommend this product.

I bought this is the shade caramel about 2 years ago when I started wearing makeup, it is a very good start up foundation.The coverage is just flawless it does last all day however the shade range is so limited that which is very dissapointing because this shade would leave me with an orange tint. And I have excessively oily skin so I would have to blot a lot throughout the day so if you have super oily skin you might want to stay away. But I would definitely recommend this foundation if it matches your skin and you have normal/combination skin.

I have never been happier with a foundation. My skin breaks out badly from time to time, due to hormones - this product is the best cover up and also does not irritate my skin or make my breakouts worse. It's light and mattifies my skin, so I don't get a horrible shine, like I do with other products. Not to mention the price is so worth it and a lot cheaper than any other brand.

I have been using Essence foundations for years. For the price point, I find this foundation provides good coverage, it's lightweight on the skin and buildable. It does not clog my pores and I don't break out, even if I sleep in my makeup. I have re-purchased this a few times now. Great everyday foundation, one of my beauty bag staples. It is not as long wearing as it claims to be but with a primer and setting powder, you can really stretch it's longevity.

The shades can be a bit hit and miss, I find that at times I may need to add some yellow corrector to counter its pinky undertone but it really depends on the time of year, my exposure to the sun, etc.

No, just no. I recently picked this up and I am not impressed.

I got the lightest shade 010 soft beige and let me tell you - it is anything but soft / beige. Fair skin girls would not be able to pull this off.

When I applied it, it was fine, but as my day went on it became darker and took on a very orange tone.

The coverage is not great. The lasting power is not great - about 4 hours at best. It also transfers like crazy.

The price is good and if they decide to bring out lighter shades, I may give this another go and pair it with good oil controlling products.

At this stage though, I am just not a fan.

I bought this a long while back, as you can see from the uploaded pic, today I used it after ages and wondered why I ever stopped using it. It's an amazing foundation, here are some of its attributes :

I always buy the soft beige foundation and it works very well with my skin. i use it day and night. not oily and works well with any skin tome. im inlove with essence!

This is truly an amazing foundation to have. It gives you a very natural smooth appearance so you don’t look like you’re wearing a ton of make-up. This foundation blends very well which means no dark lines and you are left with a silky smooth complexion.

This Essence stay all day 16h long lasting foundation comes in a dispenser bottle, which eliminates any mess and it is easy to squeeze the right amount of product out. It also owns up to the description of a long lasting make-up, seeing that it lasts all day long and it doesn't leave you looking dull halfway through the day.

Sounds very impressive ladies. I am battling to find my "Max Factor Foundation" at Clicks for weeks now so I guess Max Factor has just lost a "client". I will go and buy the Essence stay all day. I purchase the Essence Nail polish - excellent and dries so quick. I use the eyeliner and many other products. Huge fan of the Essence range.

Price: I mean R50 for a foundation?! What's not to love?

Colour Selection: When I was shopping at Clicks for a foundation, I found that the colour range for this foundation wasn't great, I ended up getting 20 Soft Nude which is too dark for my skin tone but because of the poor organisation of the stand I had no choice (but if you know how to blend then you can make wrong colours work!)

Effectiveness: It makes my skin look absolutely flawless! Its not a thick formula so it doesn't stick to dry patches on the face but it does an excellent job at evening out the skin. It covers pretty well too, I would say about medium coverage.

For R50, its definitely worth a try!

I love this product! Because I wear make up everyday it tends to get really expensive and I love to buy everything I see *shopaholic* I decided to try out this foundation. I found that it had a really soft touch to my skin and didn't make my skin too oily or too dry either, my skin stayed just perfect for up to 8 hours, I applied loose powder over just to give me a perfect set and I didn't have to really worry. I'm not sure why I decided to wear white the day I tried this foundation out and then realised that I probably transferred half my foundation to my top, surprisingly not. It doesn't transfer and keeps to it's promise and it's really affordable, although the colours are abit limited, if you're lucky, you'll find your perfect colour!

I give this product a full 5 stars because:

1) It sure is affordable. Makeup can be hell on a student's budget but Essence is wonderfully inexpensive and easy to find!

2) This foundation lasts for hours without smudging or running. I haven't needed to use a primer with this foundation so far. It's not too heavy for sunny South Africa, but also does not leave my skin oily or my pores clogged.

I have tried all of essences bases.

I use to use MAC but paying R500 for a great base that turns your skin oily isnt the greatest deal.

All the girls in my friendship ask me what I use and I refer them to this foundation.
It is:

Light - so you dont look like a base face
The colours mix well with your skin tone
It lasts up to 16 hours, perfect for a long flight trip.
It creates a smooth surface for a stunning finish to your bronzer and blush.
Your skin is not left oily or dry.

I love this product and recommend it to all women of all skin types

I decided to try this because of the fact that it is targeted at the teenage market which means it is cheap and sure to not cause flare ups. I was not disappointed as it is super cheap and works well to even out skin tone. It is great for oily skin as it leaves it matte all day!

Probably the cheapest and the nicest foundation I have come across, in a while. I love Essence. Although their ranges target-market are aimed at the teens, they really do produce the best make up at the right price. And, if it doesn't work for you, at least you don't feel bad about giving away make up that didn't cost you an arm and a leg :)

This foundation smells great, doesn't clog the pores, and applies easily. One thing you need to make sure is that your skin is super moisturized before applying this foundation, because it does have a tendency to make dry patches VERY noticeable.
