I have to admit when I come home after a long day at campus, I don't want to spend more than a couple of minutes removing my makeup and getting ready to relax.
These make up wipes are very handy to remove the make up quickly and with ease. It is especially good as I deal with an acne-prone skin but its one of the few make up wipes that work for me.
I have to say even though it removes the look of the make up, it does NOT take it off completely. There will still be residue make up , even after using a second wipe as I've seen from using a deep pore cleanser on a cotton pad after hence the 3 stars for effectiveness.
I would recommend this to the person who is a light make up wearer or even just to remove some oiliness at the end of the day.
This removes my make up quite well but it leaves a tingly feeling on my skin .its not unpleasant so it's not going to deter me from future use and since I will only use this sometimes,when I'm lazy to wash off my make up,it's ok. I use them quite often on my hands though. It smells nice and after use skin does feel nice and soft. Added bonus is that it's alcohol free.

I love that it keeps my face feeling soft. I only use mascara and lipstick, so I felt that I was wasting the Essence power that it potentially do for a full make-up'd face.

The texture of these wipe are a lot different from the ones I had been using, so I found it a bit hard to work with initially, but once I got used to it I was loving it. These wipes completely remove all make-up and my skin felt so refreshed and soft after using them and as a bonus these wipes smell amazing.
I bought these because they are alcohol free, remove waterproof makeup and are soft thick and the price was good!i dont usually buy these cos the sticky becomes less and then the wipes dry out so there's pressure to use them fast! I usually purchase the ones with a lid irrespective of their price simply cos i use stay fast and transfer resistant long wearing formulas and prefer a wipe to get my make up off nicely the first time!these claim to be made with a gentle caring formulation but my eye area stung terribly and my lids even looked a little swollen! I haven't been able to continue with these!
Always excited to try new essence products but i was not that impressed with these and must say i have tried better. The think is they just felt too wet and too creamy it felt like a moisture wipe which didn't remove all my makeup at all. Love the packaging and affordability though. It is very strong scented too
My initial perception of the product was great - lovely packaging, enticing product description and reasonably priced.It smelled amazing when I opened it and the wipe itself is soft and thick.
Here's the downer: right after I started using the wipe on my face, my skin started stinging, and not just mildly, but it hurt to an extent of making my eyes water! This is really strange as I don't have particularly sensitive skin and I've used many variations of makeup wipes (some very cheap and nasty ones) but have never felt stinging skin! My skin also felt very tight after my face dried, if I didn't wash my face after.
The product claims to be gentle on the skin, safe for all skin types and moisturise the skin, but I can't say I personally experienced any of this. I also don't feel 100% safe to use the product on my skin due to the stinging. Such a pity!
I usually have a pack of cleansing wipes with me..to freshen up when its too hot and humid. Since essence is my "go-to-brand" I wanted to try their cleansing wipes. love the color of packaging..these wipes smell nice and help to remove all the dirt from your face,..leaving your skin supple and moisturized.
Essence is one of the most affordable brands out there, yet they do not skimp on quality an detail. This does an effective job of removing dirt whilst keep skin soft and moisturized. Great colourful, attractive packaging which screams 'please buy me'. Feminine and floral like the fragrance which surprisingly is not harsh on skin.
I never used facial wipes before and thought I would give it a try. I'm quite happy with these cleansing wipes. It gives a bit of a sting on the eye area but removes 90% of my make-up. The fragrance is very subtle and the fact that its alcohol free is a huge bonus! I am a satisfied client
I'm a fan of Essence mostly because their beauty products are affordable. I think they are so popular due to the fact that they market their products straight towards their target market with colourful and bright colours and packaging.
Also like Abby, I HAVE to remove my makeup before bed so these wipes are easy and convenient. Fit this buy into your monthly list and you won't feel all slugish and worn-out when you wake-up with smudge mascara from the night before. Oh yes, and the smell is devine!
I have to remove my makeup before bed, always have even when I am feeling beyond lazy so sometimes cleansing wipes are just the answer but my skin always feels a bit oily after using most of the wipes on the market. I decided to try these mostly because they smell incredibly divine, the fragrance is bamboo and pomegranate so imagine fresh and fruity. They really do work to remove all traces of makeup, base, eyeshadow, mascara and left my skin feeling moisturised but not oily at all. I then swore to keep a pack of these with me when traveling, imagine my surprise when I found out they are only R19,95!!! For 25 wipes that is insanely cheap.
I am not a person who regularly keeps a pack of cleansing wipes handy in my makeup drawer. I generally find them too expensive for the amount of uses you get compared to a cream makeup remover. But there is no denying that they are very practical when travelling or after a night out so I do buy them from time to time. I have tried 4 different brands of wipes under R50 and Essence is by far the favourite and something I would buy again for sure. The first thing that stands out to me is the softness of the tissue. They are the least scratchy of the ones I tried and don't irritate my skin by rubbing. I also like the fact that they don't contain alcohol because generally I do find that wipes make my skin extra rough and dry. These wipes have a nice fragrance, they are decently moist and remove my makeup pretty well even though I always make sure to follow up with a face wash anyway.
The only criticism would be that the seal becomes non-sticky after a while and one has to use up the wipes sooner to prevent them from drying out. But for the price, I still think they are the best on the market.
