This was a really cute Christmas edition and I always love Essence lipstick. They are all very affordable and most of them are quite pigmented.
This was definitely worth the money.

I don't usually buy Essence lipsticks simply because they do not offer a range of darker colours (I prefer dark lipsticks). Yet I buy many other Essence products because of its great quality at affordable prices.
I was really excited to try out the Merry Berry collection and I waited excitedly for it to arrive at Clicks and Dischem. After seeing the range online, I already knew that I wanted the (purple) 'Let the Berry Tales Begin' lipstick.
The packaging is cute (as with all of the other Essence products) and looks amazing for a low-end brand. The first thing I noticed was that it is not as pigmented as it looks. If you truly want it to show or to be bold, you have to add lipliner and layers upon layers (this may also be because I have a medium skin tone and, therefore, darker lips).
It also does not last very long. You'll find that you may have to reapply it after an hour or so. Despite this, it still has a smooth and glossy finish.
I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to experiment with a dark lipstick colour without it being too bold.

Popped into Dischem over the festive season , I've heard so much about the "Merry Berry" Collection from Essence that i had to get my hands on them.
Let The Berry Tales Begin - This hands down has to be my favorite shade of all.
Its bold , Sheer and has great staying power (long lasting). The packaging is the best I've seen for a drugstore product .. very high-end. It does let down on the pigmentation side , so you will probably have to add a very layers and pair it with a similar shade of lipliner to get the pigmentation you want.
But
For R44.50 their a great steal if you ask me
Available at Dischem and Clicks Pharmacies Nationwide!

I have two out of the three lipsticks from the collection and you can get them at R44.50 a pop. The lipsticks do not have any names so lets just refer to the as the purple one and as the pinky-red one. The Purple one is on the right hand side off the pic above and it has to be my favourite one. The pinky-red one is logically on the left and I also find it to be a very sensual shad. Both these lipsticks are really great in pigmentation and really lush but I would strongly recommend not to kiss any body as they transfer like crazy, which is definitely a good thing as you can avoid kissing those aunts who you haven’t seen in years at your Christmas dinner

Essence lipsticks are affordable and fun. With so many colors, options have no limits.
I did not find the product very long lasting though and it rubbed off on my clothes. Lovely glossy color but fades tooo quickly.
Nice to have but not a major favourite.
