Not the best I've tried from Essence but I'd certainly repurchase. I like the creamy texture and that it glides on easily . Doesn't last very long so I won't use this to a function. In my experience it doesnt smudge so a huge plus point. It's budget friendly and I think the price matches the quality. I bought it in black and I love that the color is rich. Over all ,an average eye pencil.

This eyeliner is completely inexpensive which is really why I bought it. It's perfectly soft and applies on smooth, I didn't really have a problem with smudging tho. I love this product.

Hey BB Babes :)

My thoughts on this product:

Pros: It's very creamy
Glides on easily
Has a fine tip, but is definitely not sharp
The color is defined
Cost effective

Cons : One little tear = smear, smear, smear!!

I wouldn't recommend this product if your going to an event or on a hot date and want to really impress. This is sought of my back up eye pencil if I'm heading on a out door adventure and won't be wearing much make-up.

Something to take with you when it's "just in case".

Personally I never take my high end make-up with when I'm traveling long distances. It's simply to high risk for me.

This Essence Kajal Pencil retails at Clicks for whopping R14.95

Hope this helped you.

Stay Beautiful!

I was looking for a brown eye pencil for a wedding I was attending, and essence was the first counter I checked as they always have very affordable makeup. I immediately liked the color of this pencil. It's a pretty chocolaty color.

However I am not the biggest fan of this kohl. It does apply as a very nice color, but it's very dry, streaky and not at all smooth. I've even tried to warm this pencil up slightly, but still it doesn't glide on like it should. It isn't creamy at all, but rather flaky.

It doesn't have much lasting power. It doesn't do too bad of a job on the waterline and is definitely a lot smoother there. This eye pencil also smudges quite easily and doesn't dry very fast.

I purchased the Kajal eye pencil in "13 Nightfever" which is a shimmery navy shade. The colour is lovely and intense but I found the texture of the pencil to be a little dry. If I don't warm the tip of the eye pencil on my hand it can be a little crumbly and tug on my eyelids. But once warmed up its much creamier and has a good staying power on the waterline. Its easy to sharpen to a fine point as its not too soft. For the price it a good eye pencil but I'd rather pay a little extra for the Essence Long Lasting retractable eyeliner pencil.

What I like about these pencils is that I comes in 8 beautiful colours which is great for those of you, who like me like experimenting with different eye colour pencils without splashing out a lot of money to try new looks. It is relatively creamy and glides on smoothly after the product is warmed up a little. It was super affordable (again) and costs only R19.95 per pencil. As I said in my review for the Essence 2-in-1 Kajal eyeliners, I like to gently warm the eyeliner up a bit before applying because it becomes so much smoother and creamier to apply.

I know it says that these pencils use a long-lasting formula, but these liners did not last all day even when I just applied it to my bottom lash line, not even my waterline. I would highly recommend you to use a primer with this, and if you want it to last extra long, apply an eyeshadow with a similar colour over it.

I find that the quality between this eyeliner and the 2-in-1 quite similar. There isn’t a big difference except that the individual liners do last a tad bit longer than the 2-in-1 liners and with the 2-in-1 liners you get an extra colour to play around with.
